For example: PERSONAL trash that the "cleaner" left behind (not trash that was already here). I have also included Zuriah's response, which as you can see, is abysmal. MY EMAIL TO THE CLEANER: Hi Zuriah, I just returned home and was able to inspect the basement. When I first received the cleaning receipt and saw that I was charged for 4 hours of work, I was extremely surprised and skeptical but wanted to give you the benefit of the doubt. I typically do the cleaning myself, and it only takes me 45 minutes from start to finish. Given that I am very familiar with the space, I expect it to take strangers longer. However, I have previously hired another cleaner from Task Rabbit, and it took her one hour and fifteen minutes. When considering the 4-hours I was charged, my first thought was that you had misunderstood the task and actually cleaned my entire house, as that is typically the time it takes my regular cleaner to do the main floor, which includes 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, a full kitchen and living room. After receiving your before/after pictures and confirming that you had, in fact, only cleaned the basement, I then thought that maybe you did a deep clean, which could potentially explain the long time frame. However, after coming home and inspecting the basement, that is clearly not the case. Spaces I would expect to be cleaned in a deep clean, such as the oven, the windows, and the refrigerator, were clearly untouched. In addition, surfaces that should've been cleaned in the most basic job were still dirty, such as the tables next to the beds. All of this is to say that I will be disputing the charge with Task Rabbit and filing a formal complaint with your cleaning company. I do expect to receive a refund for the services for which I was charged that were clearly not performed. Graham came and did a walk-through of our…read morebusiness, and gave us a set price for regular cleanings once a week, and agreed that the cleanings would take place after business hours. On the first day of our cleaning, the cleaner came 30 minutes early, flustered, and unprepared to complete the full scope of work that Graham outlined in our contract. She used our vacuum cleaner, which doesn't work very well, and did not wipe down all of the surfaces. I emailed Graham, asking that she use her own vacuum, and remember to wipe the surfaces down. He apologized, and said that she is supposed to use her own supplies and that he would make sure she would in the future. For the next 3 weeks, the surfaces were never dusted or wiped down, the carpets were vacuumed by our own vacuum, causing it to break. The hard floors were never swept or mopped as indicated in our contract, trash liners were not placed in our garbage cans, and the bathroom was never cleaned. Ruth (the cleaner) always came early, interrupting meetings and operations. Graham was very difficult to reach, and very rarely called me or emailed me back. Once we terminated our contract, Ruth came to return our key, and began lambasting our owner about how we didn't pay her enough. She said that the person who hired her (not Graham) told her that all she had to do was vacuum and take the trash out. So it seems that she was subcontracted out by someone else. She kept accusing us of being cheap and unfair to her- and we required too much work for what she was getting paid. I have no idea who was paying her- but our contract was with Graham and Reliant Cleaning. I emailed Graham and told him how unprofessional it was for his cleaner to criticize us for not paying her enough. And of course, he did not reply. Very shady business practices. Terrible response time, if any response. Hardly any cleaning actually took place.
