I had been scared of going back blonde because of damage. I called Adler J. Salonspa to voice my concerns and they made me feel heard and were extremely receptive and sensitive to my situation. I had Mary as my hair care proffesional and she was extremely attentive to what I wanted but also used the upmost caution in maintaining the integrity of my hair. We not only discussed our initial visit, but a long term hair care plan to get me to the level of blonde I desire with the least damage and maximum growth possible. Not only Mary, but all of the other hair care professionals that I could overhear were very friendly, appropriate and mild mannered. The salon is small but at maximum functionality and great use of space. Everything is well organized and clean. The girl who normally does my hair no longer works at this salon. After a couple of trial and errors, she knew exactly what I wanted and did a phenomenal job. I was a bit nervous when I was advised that someone else would be doing my hair at my next appointment and would follow the prior girl's instructions. Long story short, the right side of my hair has high/low lights, the left side and back of my hair has straight color and my hair looked like straw. Moreover, when I lifted my hair I noticed that I still had major black roots in the back. The whole experience from the wash to the final comb out was abysmal. I complained to the manager/owner who initially agreed to do my hair over for me. However, when I stated that I still had dark roots in the back, she got mad and said that "they clearly would never make me happy and she would remove me from their client's list." Very disappointing for an Adler salon.....the customer's satisfaction clearly isn't this manager/owner's priority and the final product was not worthy of what they charge!!!! When you're a retired widow you spend money wisely and do not appreciate poor customer service. read more

This is really for anyone considering coming here to get your eye brows done at this spa.. maybe just don't. Never have I wanted to write such a nice 1 star review, because my experience here from the staff was pleasant and the girl who did my eye brows was even so sweet that's why I will not use her name... but I had just never had such an un professional eye brow waxing experience for 22 $ in my life. I was taken into a dark shampoo room.. put in a uncomfortable shampoo chair. Basically from there she began to wax my eye brows in the DIM LIGHTING, uses no product to cleanse my skin or help it after it's waxed. Also I had to literally ask her to wax more when an entire section of my eyebrows wasn't even touched when she told me to check the mirror and then turned the lights on ....She only turned the lights on to show me them? I had to go home and completely fix my eye brows. Please don't advertise eyebrow waxing if this is the experience you intend to give people. read more

This place is amazing.. I had Haley do my hair and I showed her a picture of what I wanted and my hair is exactly how I wanted it. She is amazing, nice and very good at what she does. The atmosphere is great. Very welcoming, very relaxing place. Definitely recommend this place!!! read more

I was extremely disappointed with what happened at Adler J. I called and scheduled an appointment and was NEVER told that it was just going to be a consultation. So I show up, super excited to get my hair done, and they sit me down in a chair and say "what are you looking to get done", I show them a picture of what I want and then 2 minutes later I'm out the door. I was told their earliest appointment was 2 weeks later even though I had just waited two weeks to get in for this appointment. Really sad because I was planning on having my hair done for my brother-in-law's wedding and now, because of their lack of communication to me about the appointment, I won't be able to get booked anywhere else for a hair color anytime soon. read more

I unfortunately received two absolutely terrible haircuts here. The first one was so bad I went back to hope they could fix it. I went to a different stylist this second time and she made the haircut even worse. They have excellent customer service but sadly cannot provide a decent haircut. read more

Got a facial, oh let me correct that massage on my face. That's all it was. I have yet to find anywhere or anyone in Ft Wayne competent in aesthetics. Never has anyone put body oil on my face and massaged it for oh about 15 minutes. She was on time with my service which lasted about 45 minutes for 70.00. read more

I have been fairly faithful to this salon ever since I've found it. Their staff are highly trained and really listen to the customer. The customer is,provided a choice of two treatments as a part of the service in a beautiful environment. I never feel rushed. I'm always offered a cup of tea. Prices are on the high end for the city, but I've always loved my hair when I leave. People comment on it. I've tried elsewhere, but had to go back to my stylist here to get it fixed. read more

Very professional and friendly place, however, I would not recommend for curly hair. I just moved to fort wayne and was apprehensive to trust someone new with my curly hair. I've had a lot of disasters as salons, stylists claim they know how to work with curly hair and then I walk out with a chopped up, frizzed up lions mane. I decided to trust this place. I should have known in the first 10 minutes it wasn't going to work out, she did the number one boo boo when it comes to working with curly hair. She cut it wet. You NEVER cut curly hair wet. The cut came pretty meh, it was pretty frizzy after she styled it, and after the first wash from my appointment I found uneven pieces. Exactly what always happens when you cut curly hair wet. I'm sure she cuts straight hair just fine, but all my curly haired friends, look somewhere else! read more

You guys I seriously love this salon. I went over the summer for probably the 4th time and my highlights weren't noticeable at all, but the color was spot on. Well instead of letting them know that I felt like I needed a correction I kept it to myself and went to another salon. Huge mistake. The gal did an awful job on the highlights. They turned out brassy and orange so I had to go back which then over processed my hair... Long story short, Alder J. Would have been happy to help me had I let them know that the highlights weren't what I was hoping for. I'm going back to Alder J on the 26th. They have amazing product, stylists, and are great at getting highlights to a nice blonde without over processing. Also, just a tip from my experience... if something isn't right, just let them know. Don't be like me and go somewhere else... Before Alder J, I went to 3 other salons in Fort Wayne and was never happy with my highlights and then I came to Alder J and loved them. It was recommended to me to find an Aveda salon while out of town for a wedding so I booked with this one. Unfortunately the results weren't what I expected. I requested hair, makeup and nails. Nails- I had to ask for three to be redone (French) as they were lopsided and lumpy. Hair- I had asked for volume on top and product to prevent frizz. The stylist back combed only one 3 inch section on the top of my head, no where else and my hair had frizzed by the time I returned to my hotel (a 5 minute drive). Make up- I had asked for my eyes to pop. I redid my makeup when I returned to the hotel. Normally I would have stayed to have everything fixed to my satisfaction but had run out of time before I needed to get dressed for the wedding I was attending. The staff was VERY polite and friendly, I enjoyed the visit and chatting with everyone. It was still worth the money to have had someone else mess with my long hair and for me to only have to touch it up myself. I also thought the price was very reasonable. read more
