I came here as a patient of their free dental clinic:…read morehttps://carrington.edu/location/san-jose-dental-hygiene-clinic/ My dental insurance at the time was being a pain in the ass, so I decided to look for cheaper alternatives - they happen to do cleanings for free. I was recruited personally by a dental hygiene student, as it seems they are in dire need of patients. When I first entered the clinic, all of the seats were taken up by people, so I was amazed that they seemed to be actively recruiting for patients, essentially. When I got my screening and assessment, I got an inkling as to why. Basically, the students need to do an exam on a live patient in order to pass for their certification, but a patient needs to meet very specific criteria in order to be used... I happen to have been one of them. Yes, everything is free, but it's balanced out by the time that you need to spend there. For example, the student performs dental scaling, notes down their observations, and then they need to wait for their instructor to come and do it again and make their confirmations or corrections. I had a good time working with my dental hygienist in-training, as she was very approachable, communicative, and informative. I learned a lot about dental work through her! I stopped going because I wasn't comfortable with multiple people working on my mouth (mainly happened because multiple students wanted to pass their test using me), I had other life issues that occurred at the same time, it was rough on me to spend the time to commute back and forth to San Jose, and their scheduling availability was not the most ideal. They seemed to only have a morning and afternoon session, each of which can take up to 4 hours. If you happen to be in a situation where you need a free dental screening, cleaning, or deep cleaning, and have time on your hands, I think this is a fine opportunity to explore.

My daughter was in Juniper Tree from 2017 to 2021. She started Juniper as a replacement of a Waldorf school she had been attending. Looking back, the school director and teacher Yishan's combined approach of Montessori and Waldorf proved more effective for my kid's learning and overall development. The teachers' and staff's personalized attention to each child in a small group setting, a clean, relaxing and cozy atmosphere that comforts children to stay calm and focused, emphasis on children's emotional growth by teaching how to communicate are not what I could get in any other school including the Waldorf school she attended before. I feel privileged to have met Teacher Yishan since she changed the way my child communicates herself. She turns learning into fun each day where children truly learns and internalizes the subject and empowers each child to cultivate their self-esteem and communication skills. When I spot my kid in an emotionally charged situation, I remind her of what she learned at Juniper Tree and she articulates her feelings and reasoning even now after we departed from Juniper Tree. I am happy to see Juniper Tree growing each year. It will have to be since their educational philosophy and practices are genuinely beneficial for children.

Great student to instructor ratio, so your child will be helped immediately with instant feedback. Can't wait to see what my student and Mathnasium can achieve at the end of the school year!

The learning plan is tailored to the individual needs of your child. My son happened to learn without any pressure in this kind of setup. He went from mid-5th grade level to nearly finishing the 7th grade level now in about 7 months time. In a previous year, we had tried a different Math school that is more of a classroom kind of setup with 2 hrs of instruction. It did not work for him and we had to withdraw him from the program. While that was definitely a great place in terms of the curriculum and teachers, the classroom format just didn't work for my child. Big shout out to the center director Miguel. Really appreciate the flexibility with scheduling. There have been times when we had to cancel last minute OR even ask if there was a slot available the same evening. They have been very accommodative with our requests. Mathnasium team recently had a multi-center math competition. That was a fun exercise and I think more than anything, it was a fun event where kids could learn and enjoy Math.

His public school education via zoom wasn't helping much and we've seen how many of his classmates were falling behind. Jenny Robertson, the center owner, has really stepped up during this difficult time and helped our son learn and stay ahead of his peers when it comes to reading and math. I appreciate her effort and her no-nonsense approach to education. She gives our son one-on-one time to help him truly understand his reading and math. We were part of another Kumon center and we thought it was a good one. However, after being with Jenny, our son has improved greatly on his math and reading. We hadn't realized that he wasn't really getting the reading and Jenny has helped him greatly. I'd also like to address those parents that have written damaging reviews to hurt this business. I wish you'd think about this very difficult time during covid for everyone and hope that you'd try to be kinder and not so devious. We need to be more tolerant and kind so that we have a better country and world. God Bless and hope all are safe and healthy.

First of all, we did not receive an email notifying us of the management change. We were instructed to remain silent while our kids worked. After a week, they began shutting the door, which was fine, but there were times when I wanted to hear what my son was working on. Eventually, I felt unwelcome there. I would walk my son to the door but not go inside. There were times when we would stay for two hours without any notification. My son's homework doubled, and it took him possibly an hour to complete a booklet. I asked his instructor why the homework was so lengthy, and she told me it was okay if he didn't finish and could work on it during class. My son is capable of finishing his homework, but my husband and I were frustrated by how long it took him. I ultimately decided to end our contract and text the manager. All I received in response was "okay" and "done." There were no questions asked or apologies for how their program did not work out for us. It seemed they were just in it for the money and lacked the heart to teach my son and/or the other children. However, I appreciated my son's instructor; she was very kind and patient. I dropped my son off on a Thursday, and when I went to pick him up after class, his instructor informed me that his last day was the previous Tuesday. Again, I was not notified that his last day had already passed. The instructor was kind enough to conduct a lesson with him, but no notice? I give them two stars for their instructor and my son's reading progress. He is now able to write clearly and loves to read. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this place to other parents due to their lack of customer service and communication.

This was exactly what I needed to get familiar with a professional woodshop and all the essential tools. The class accomplished its main goal perfectly: giving beginners hands-on experience with the equipment in a safe, structured way. Over two Saturday afternoon sessions (3.5 hours each), we made a simple candle holder while rotating through practically every major tool in the shop. We used the sliding compound miter saw, jointer, planer, table saw, band saw, router, and various sanders. While the project itself wasn't particularly exciting, it was clearly designed to maximize tool exposure rather than create a masterpiece. David was an excellent instructor who prioritized safety above all else and patiently answered every question. The class size of about 10 people felt just right for getting individual attention. The woodshop itself is impressive with a fantastic selection of professional-grade tools. Parking was easy and the classroom was simple to locate. At around $150 per person, it's not cheap, but felt reasonable considering you're getting access to thousands of dollars worth of equipment and quality instruction. Just expect to get covered in sawdust! We had plenty of time to complete our project without feeling rushed. This class is perfect for complete beginners who want to learn woodworking basics in a supportive environment. It's specifically designed as a safety prerequisite for their more advanced classes where you can tackle more interesting projects. If you're thinking about woodworking as a hobby or just want to try it out, this is an ideal starting point. I'm definitely planning to take more classes here.
