We went to her house to pick up two dogs that were bonded. She did not tell us that the littlest one Rosy had urine leaking issues. We took her to the vet serval times to help fix it but the vet couldn't find a bladder. She knew about those issues and still charged us $600 for the dogs. This lady is using these dogs for money. read more

I'm sure you've realized that Margaret either gets 1 or 5 stars. Margaret reads people and assesses whether or not she will trust you to take on the care of one of her animals. Yes, she charges based upon what she thinks is appropriate. But, she shares that money across other organizations that need the help. we were fortunate to adopt a dog from her 4 years ago. Yes, she tends to favor small adoptable dogs, but she brings them to her home. She is a wonderful person, but not for everyone. read more

We adopted our new baby "Chief" from Margaret. He is such a great boy! He is learning so fast! He is house trained, can sit, and walk on a leash and we've only had him a few days. When we were there it was evident that he was happy and bonded with Margaret and I am sure that is why he is so affectionate! read more

Margaret has been extremely difficult over the phone in the common courtesy of arranging to see a young Collie/Retriever dog who repeatedly gets re-posted on petfinder or adoptapet websites. It is safe and honest to say that there is something off about her professional status in animal rescue. It would be one matter if she is screening potential adopting families with normal template questions and excludes one family due to young toddlers and the dog's feral nature, or a dog that must have acres of land and no neighbors because of excessive canine barking. But Margaret seems to string adopting families along with one phone giving clear information, asking to call back in 3 hours; then later that day an absurd, inconsistent "slammed door in your face" again over the phone. I cannot discern if she has hidden agendas or she simply has an anti-social mood disorder; but I feel terrible for the animals she is trying to rehome based on her outreach and phone manners. So sorry to write this today, based on three different times calling on three web postings for the same dog. read more

This woman has no clue how to treat animals and I question her motives. --She charged us extra because our rescues were pretty. --When she was packing up from the rescue event, she and her helpers literally jammed the animals into cages. --When we picked up our rescues, she hit one of the dogs that was barking at us over the fence. --She had another dog sitting in a cage on the driveway waiting for the new owners to arrive; it was cold and the dog had no protection from the sun or weather. --When we were driving home, our rescues threw-up in the car (we were prepared and had blankets on the seats), but we were surprised to see that they had been fed sandwich-type ham slices that were cut into bite-size pieces which is a terrible thing to feed a dog. I reported her to every agency I could find. Find a better rescue organization (try Overstock.com) and put this woman out of business. read more

This woman is not trying to find good homes for certain "prettier than other" animals, she is SELLING them. I was interested in a kitten that she had available for adoption and she said that her adoption fee was double her normal fee because it was "beautiful" DON'T DEAL WITH THIS WOMAN!!!! Margaret has dedicated her life to taking in strays, getting animals off of Death Row at high kill shelters, and nursing sick animals back to health. I learned all of this by stopping by Petco and having conversations with her. Yeah she may charge more for certain animals if she can because the cost of boarding, feeding, spaying these animals is not cheap. What she is doing is a remarkable thing. read more

I just got off the phone with Margaret after inquiring about a dog and she was incredibly rude to me. As soon as she heard my voice (that of a young female) she said she wouldn't let me come see the dog I was calling about because the dog needed "the best home possible because she's so special and beautiful." She didn't even listen to anything about me or my home. I was incredibly offput by how she didn't want to hear anything about me and just automatically rejected me because I am young. Super rude and unprofessional. read more

Got our dog here five years ago and she's the best thing that ever happened to us. This is a good rescue that's run by an obviously selfless person. If you're in the market for a new pet, you should definitely consider Adopt a Friend Forever. read more
