We used Peter to book our trip to Croatia. We were celebrating our son's graduation from college. Croatia was beautiful ! Wonderful vacation for us. We flew Lufthansa Airlines. They were not so wonderful. This airline is horrible! Going to Croatia and coming home our flights were screwed up. We got stuck flying to different cities both ways and had to stay the night in a hotel . They would not comp us a room. Missed the first day of vacation in Croatia. On the way home our flights were screwed up again, missed our flight in Frankfurt, Germany. We had to stay an extra night on the East coast due to Lufthansa Airline incompetence . We live in California , had to fly to Boston and stay the night. They would not comp us a room. In the morning we flew to Denver and back to California. Peter was great . My suggestion would be NOT to use Lufthansa Airlines when booking your trip . read more

I have been to Croatia several times and I'm very hard to impress. Peter at Adriatic travel set up a 7-day cruise for myself and 6 of my High School buddies and our wives from Dubrovnik to Split which was beyond my expectations. If you're planning to visit Croatia and are not sure about it, this is definitely the way to go. They also have drivers on staff that can arrange side trips - several of us went to Mostar and Medjugorje for the day. The driver, Zoran had a brand-new Mercades van and drove us in comfort. We were referred to Peter at Adriatic Travel for a trip to the Balkans. We had our airline reservations already completed but wanted assistance with accommodations, rental car, tours, recommendations for restaurants, things to see and places to go in our limited time frame. We had a rough itinerary planned and Peter said we could complete that in our allotted time but it may be a bit much. He suggested a revised plan and it worked out perfectly. We already had our accommodations in Dubrovnik, but I wish we would have used his suggestion for our accommodations there. The hotel he booked in Split was amazing. Pilgrimage to the Holy Land, Feb 20 to March 8th. Five stars to our tour guide Foteh Mickel. He was like a walking encyclopedia of historical facts and passages from the Bible, (Old and New Testament). He was energetic, and resourceful. The Church of the Holy Sepulchre had been closed due to secular issues and it looked like we may have to skip this part of our tour. At the last minute, thanks to Mickel's efforts, our group was able to visit the site , attend mass , save time and avoid the crowds. From the getgo, he made it clear to the group that this was a pilgrimage,first and foremost. In the end, we got to visit all the sites listed on the itinerary, and also had enough time for personal sightseeing, and shopping. read more

On April 27 coming from Mexico City to Dallas Ft worth Int'l airport we arrived at 315 pm the we proceeded to immigration then picked up luggage then went to security line unfortunately my luggage was stop due to temperature scanner thinking it was a gun and one of our co traveler stop due to tamarind she bought in duty free store inside airport then proceeded to skylink when reached the gate of American airline receptionist declined 9 of us told us it closed we were not happy it because our travel host Arlene Bartolommeo left with her group and some from our group with 3 handicaps gave a stand by tickets finally we got home about 300 am not hearing from our travel host Arlene called following day to Adriatic tours spoke owner but instead he transferred my called to Sherry Orlando the reason sharing experience with you guys not to support Adriatic not accommodating until now no text or call from her Adriatic isn't they should stay with us instead of leaving 9 passengers alone if they can go home or not . read more

I recently got back from a 9-day pilgrimage (plus 2 travel days) to Italy, and feel very blessed by the experience. It was a custom tour designed by a group leader from nearby St. Felicitas Parish and promoted to my parish of Our Lady of Good Counsel in San Leandro, CA. Adriatic Tours of San Pedro, CA, and its Italian partner, Cedar Travel, made the travel and lodging arrangements; tickets for various museums and tips were inclusive. We had a solemn Mass daily celebrated by our spiritual director - in beautiful churches, or side chapels of the basilicas we visited. The itinerary included the Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel, Basilica of the Holy Cross, Papal audience in St. Peter's Square, Coloseum, catacombs, Genazzano, Pompeii, San Giovanni Rotondo, Assisi, Florence, Pisa, Padua and Venice. Our final city was Turin, where we were privileged to view the Shroud of Turin on display to the public for a few weeks this year. The final shrine visited was Our Lady Help of Christians, mother house of the Salesians of Don Bosco. We had our final Mass there in an atmosphere of youthful joy. Throughout the whole trip we had an engaging and funny English-speaking Italian guide named Alessandro. He met us at our arrival airport in Rome and said goodbye to us at our departure airport in Milan. Among many tidbits of information, I gathered from him that Italians do not believe too much in air-conditioning, and consider it a sure cause of sickness. On May 24, Pentecost Sunday, we were blessed to listen to a homily on the virtues of a large family, and happy anecdotes of his family life. He had an encyclopedic knowledge of the history of whole length and width of Italy that we drove over, and the stamina to keep on talking forever. I believe him when he told us that at one time he talked all the way to France from Italy! As this was my 1st pilgrimage, I wonder if all guides are like him. Through a delicate balance of strict time management and sleep deprivation (joking), Alessandro was able to coax all of us 28 pilgrims to wake up, put our big luggage out the door, eat breakfast and get on the bus on time so we could make it to the next destination on schedule. Some wake-up times were adjusted when some pilgrims complained of extreme sleep deprivation, jet lag, fatigue, etc., and looked it. This pilgrimage was the most tiring thing I've ever done in my sheltered life! Another treat for me was that we had English-speaking guides in the Vatican, Pompeii, Assisi, Florence, Pisa, Venice and Turin. Each guide was an expert of their city or shrine or field of study. We stayed in 7 (4 or 3+ star) hotels in 9 days. Each one was near the shrine we were visiting. Buffet breakfasts and Italian dinners were included. Wines from the local area were served each dinner time. In Pompeii, Limoncello was served at dinner in addition to wines! Lunches were not included; enough time was given to eat lunch and roam around on our own. I have some minor peeves, such as a very late dinner at 10:00 PM at Sheraton Hotel-Padua! To be fair, I think our bus arrived late at this hotel. As a consolation, it seemed like we were provided unlimited wine and bottled water while waiting for our dinner. I also feel that we spent too much time in Pisa and Florence in non-religious environs when we could've spent more time in Assisi, and Genazzano (sanctuary of the miraculous fresco of Our Lady of Good Counsel, patroness of my parish). We didn't even have a chance to visit the church store in Assisi, and in Genazzano barely had time to pray in front of the miraculous fresco after the Mass when we had to go back to the bus. When we were not inspired to shop for gold and leather in Florence, nor appreciate hanging out an hour longer in Pisa, our guide was perceptive enough to notice that most of us seem happier visiting churches or praying or shopping for religious articles. In conclusion, I feel that Adriatic Tours delivered on the terms and conditions agreed upon when I signed up for the pilgrimage. I am grateful to have visited the Capital of my religion, and many places made holy by the lives of my favorite saints. I am happy to have traveled to Italy and back to SFO safely. I will not be able to join another pilgrimage soon (since our daughter will be starting college this fall) so I will just recommend Adriatic Tours to family and friends looking for a travel agency. Hopefully, one day, I could go on a Marian pilgrimage through Adriatic Tours. read more

40 years of EXCELLENT service and no one has written a review yet about Adriatic Travel...? I am very surprised that I am the first. It truly is my pleasure to do so. This place is a landmark in San Pedro!! My parents and all of my cousins (and every one that I know in San Pedro) have been getting all of our airline tickets (and hotels, cruises and tours) here since I was a child. They are absolutely the best. They specialize in travel to Croatia; however, they help with every and any other type of travel arrangement that you need to anywhere else in the world. I trust the whole staff completely to find the best prices WITH the best travel routes. They are so quick and friendly. And, they automatically find you the best price (without you even having to say that you want the absolute best price). A few times I checked with Expedia and Skyscanner to see if I could find better prices, but Adriatic Travel seems to be able to beat every price (I assume that they have different sources that we cannot see on the internet). Meri S. has been helping me for years. I love her. I do not even have to call in (which is so convenient when I am out of the country); instead, I just send an email that goes something like this: "Meri, I need a 4-star hotel and 1 round-trip ticket from LAX to London (near the center), for 2 weeks, leaving any time next weekend. Shortest travel time." Within minutes or hours, she emails me about 2 or 3 very good choices. I email her back with my selection, and a credit card number, and that's it. So simple. It's done. No expedia, no internet searches. Adriatic Travel knows quality and they already understand that we all want a great price. So, they always offer exactly what you want. A couple of times during the summer, I have sent an email to Meri for travel arrangements, not knowing that she is on vacation. Immediately, I get a response back from someone else stating that "Meri is on vacation, but here are the best selections for you". It is unbelievably great customer service. I bet that at another company, my email would just sit there until the person got back from vacation. Adriatic Travel does not miss a beat. However, I have 2 weeks to spend in Croatia and the packages they offer didn't fit, so I had to do a custom tour. Peter contacted me after I sent an email.
