My family bought tickets to travel to vietnam but it got cancelled and they don't want to pick up the calls when we try to contact them. When they do pick up they keep telling us to wait and they tell us that EVA hasn't issued a refund for them so they can't return our money. We went directly to the place and they've moved out!!! Like wtf? Update: We contacted EVA airlines and their record shows that they never even reached out to get a refund from the airline. They apparently have another location in San Gabriel but that one's not picking up the phone either. We're gonna have to report this. read more

My grandma passed away in Vietnam unexpectedly and my family went to Cali Travel hoping to have an emergency visa processed for my mother to be there for the funeral. Although my brother is very meticulous and asked many questions, the lady employee seemed visibly annoyed and kept brushing him off. They told him not to file an emergency visa online or pay any extra fees. Cautiously, but deciding to trust the professionals, we let them do their work as promised... When my mother got the the airport at 9pm, her visa was denied and she was unable to board the flight. Almost 3 hours later at 11:40pm, we found out that this travel agency had put my mother's date of birth as today Aug 16, 2019 - which is, mind you, two days in the FUTURE. Had a few questions so we came to this place for some help. The staff said "hello" while looking at us with round eyes like we were aliens. We spoke English and she kept speaking to us in Vietnamese, even gave us advice about how a tour doesn't have English speaking employees. Like... excuse me??? We didn't even ask to give us advice on tour? We only asked about tickets and price. And then, while we were in the middle of the conversation, she got a phone call. Instead of saying a simple "excuse me", or "please give me a minute", she just went and picked up the phone, even started talking to the lady on the phone as if we the customers weren't even there. I bought tickets for my parents to go visit VietNam back in January but the Coronavirus started getting bad so I had to cancel the tickets and pay $650 for cancellation fee and I was supposed to get my refund which is $850. The tickets were canceled on 2/1/2020 and now it's 7/2/2020 and I still haven't got my refund!!!! I have called them so many times and request assistance, some guy told me he would call me back and I still haven't heard anything from them!! My boyfriend and I came here to get our travel visas for Vietnam. Due to our busy work schedules and disinterest in mailing our passports to a different city (the nearest Vietnamese consulate is in San Francisco), going through this travel agency seemed like a great option. The price for 2 single entry visas was $170 (cash only!), which is only slightly higher than you will pay at a consulate. The man working took photo copies of our passports and verified our flight information, and told us the visas would be ready in 10 days or less. The process took only a few minutes, and he said that he would call me when the visas are ready. 12 days later, I called to check the status, and the phone just rang and rang. I had to call 3 different times that day to get through to someone. Finally, a woman answered. "Yes, they will be ready tomorrow! Come in before 2pm, because we close at 2pm tomorrow." We arrived at 1:30pm the next day, and were told that they did not have the visas yet. This was pretty inconvenient, as I live 30 minutes from Westminster and was on a tight schedule. However, the staff were very apologetic and kind, and after grabbing lunch at our favorite Vietnamese restaurant, the visas had arrived. Despite the moderately lacking communication, I still recommend this agency, if you are not on a time crunch. 3+ weeks before your trip would be ideal. We are currently having a wonderful vacation in Vietnam, and are thankful for Cali Travel's services. read more

If there's a ZERO star I would give it to them! When I booked my tour, I told Tram (agent) about the trip I wanted to go the most is Giethoorn in Netherlands. I booked 2 tours with them, first one was Paris - Italy - Switzerland, 2nd tour was only 4 days since I will go on my on to Netherlands, but I told her that I will book another 1 day tour from Amsterdam from there since she doesn't have a tour to go to Giethoorn. Her itinerary has Amsterdam and stay at the "hotel nearby Amsterdam", however her "nearby area hotel" indicated on the brochure is 57km away from Amsterdam, which will cost us $120 + if we use the taxi. But Taxi said it will be more due to traffic. When I emailed her why she indicated "hotel area nearby Amsterdam" but it's ended up too far, she said she doesn't know . How could you in business such a long time and you don't know what area hotel it will be? It will save us lots of time and money if you just told us at beginning it will take 1 hour to get to Amsterdam to the hotel you will let us stay, and it's another city NOT "nearby area". Another big problem is she did NOT provide the HOTEL Name until a few hours before we arrived to Amsterdam, Oh MY God, we were on the train from Paris to Amsterdam, and we did not know the name of the hotel where we will stay, LOL ... until 2 hours before I arrived to Amsterdam, then she emailed me. I talked to the tour guide and he said the company confirmed that they emailed her the name of the Hotel but not sure why she's doing this! She refused to let us know the name of the hotel until the day that we're leaving. When I asked she lied to me and said the company didn't provide her information until now! ... Wow ... I came here the other day with a group of my friends since we were all needing visas for our trip to Asia this summer. I love the location they're located in so many different kinds of resturants and a nail salon as well. My friends and I ended up getting there 30 minutes before they closed and one of the representatives was kind enough to help all 13 of us. He even made time to check other flights for us as well . I forgot to get his name but he was very attentive towards my whole group even though they were close to closing for the day he made sure all of us were taken care of. Some things I didn't like was the day we had gone there it was one of the hottest day of the week and there was no air circulation. Just look up E-Visa to Vietnam, and avoid these greedy scums as much as possible. My girlfriend is not Vietnamese; when she called to inquire, they quoted her $200. Then they called her back and quoted her $150 for both. THEN, they asked if she was Vietnamese, and when she stated no, scumbags had the nerve to state that it'll be more expensive now, because she's not Vietnamese (?). Apparently, this was coming directly from the "consulate" itself. I was unfortunately at work and was unable to share my new-found opinion of them directly. Please know that at one time, it was extremely useful to utilize a travel agency because they were able to deal directly with the consulate in visa applications. However, there is now a new and direct way of applying directly for a visa yourself, through this government website: https://evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn/trang-chu-ttdt I personally think that the reason they created this is due to how unhappy and varied were people's experiences with travel agencies. Before asking my girlfriend to call, I was told via word-of-mouth that it'll cost me $80 -$120 per person. And my girlfriend had a quote of anywhere from $150 - $300 per person. The fee the government website will cost you is ~$25 (current conversion rate). And you DO have to wait for their decisions. It personally took us about 4 business days. I'm sure the travel agency will quote you some random # of days d/t them having to "argue on your behalf to the consulate blah blah". Remember, unless you have some really exciting history, the country WANT you to come and spend your tourism money into their local economy. Only scenarios I could think of utilizing these places is for the landing Visa, which is only useful with 3 days or less of planning or so. Everything I've stated here is from my personal research with visas and the e-visa. Feel free to do your own, but honestly, it is so simple. Best wishes and good luck on your travel!
