Seen a few shows here. Would give it 5 stars if the valet wasn't limited to prepaid. Lucky enough there is a parking area, $40 for 6 hours. Any besides the parking. It is well organized and well present the seating arrangements. Ushers are super attentive. They have food and snacks available. Drinks are permitted inside the show, but not food which is a good idea. read more

Who has not noticed this building when out and about in Miami....everyone! As well as being easy on the eye, both at day and night, its pretty nice architecturally speaking inside as well. The center was partly built on the site of a former Sears department store; an Art Deco building constructed in 1929, pre-dating the Art Deco hotels on Ocean Drive. It was added to the United States National Register of Historic Places in 1997 as Sears, Roebuck and Company Department Store. However, by 2001, the only surviving part of the original structure was the seven-story tower designed by Sears as its store's grand entrance. The department store space itself had been demolished and developers decided to preserve the tower and incorporate it into the new performing arts center. Again avoid parking there at your peril - park as far away as possible, and go on the metro mover, for less headache. read more

Came to see Aladdin and the show was great! I also love that the tickets were digital because it made check in so easy! The theater is gorgeous and the staff are helpful when directing you to your seats. I wished there were larger signs to the bathroom because it's so hard to find when it's crowded. The biggest disappointment was the parking. The parking lot directly across from the center had attendants packing everyone's car on top of each other. It was extremely hard to get out of the lot and there were so many people arguing out of fear that there car would be hit. This was my first show at this theater so now that I know that valet is an option, I will book it online with my tickets. read more

If you have ever heard of alvin Ailey camp in Miami. I just want to tell you don't sign your kid up. yes it have benefits like free food and stuff. But there is this lady name Ms. Rivers she sent my child home crying because she is there for one week and she has been moved group from here friends at here grade level from 8 th ( her grade) to six grader. After she had all her friends there and everything. My daughter will never attend this camp ever again. No hate on the Adrienne arsht center but huge hate on Ms. Rivers. read more

This is a review of the valet parking at Arsht Center, and not the center itself. I am writing it to serve as a warning to anyone who is contemplating using the valet parking service there. Do not under any circumstance entrust your car and its contents to these thieves. Not only will they rifle through your vehicle's contents and steal anything that they can find in the glove compartment and the trunk, but no one in authority after the fact will assist you in any way. By way of background, I was a season ticket holder for many years at the Arsht Center, but always used the self-parking available near the site. I moved out of state last year, but returned to Miami for a visit last month, and while there, decided to go to a show. Since I had been gone for a while and didn't know the status of the nearby construction or how it impacted the surface parking lots, I also paid for valet parking when I purchased my tickets. This turned out to be a terrible mistake because either the valet parkers are incompetent and left the car unlocked to be rifled through, or they themselves are outright thieves. We noticed as we drove to our hotel after the show that items were missing from the car, and then when we arrived at the hotel, we found that items had been taken out of the trunk as well. And if the theft wasn't bad enough, the lack of accountability on the part of Arsht Center management is even worse. When I called the "Premium Parking Customer Service Line" as directed by the Arsht Center website, I was given a runaround before finally being told that the organization at that number doesn't handle the valet parking, only the parking lots. I was then told to contact the Arsht Center box office. When I did so, the representative took down some basic information and then told me that a manager would follow up with me. That was six weeks ago and I haven't heard anything from anyone. I really wasn't expecting to get our items returned, but even a simple apology would have been nice. I still visit Miami regularly, but I will never again return to the Arsht Center. And not because of the valet thievery, but because of the complete lack of respect from Arsht Center management in dealing with this matter. read more

Can't wait to come back here! We were able to catch Star Wars in concert at Knight Concert Hall. The orchestra was amazing, and the whole experience was so cool. Row M is a great spot as its the first row when the stairs begin, so you're slightly elevated with no heads in front of you. The bartenders were all very friendly, drinks are obviously pricey, but they make sure you get your money's worth. The bathrooms were clean. The line for will call went very quickly, and bag check, we were seated inside within 10 minutes. Was a fun crowd some were dressed fancy, others in full Star Wars outfits. read more

If you live in Miami and have gone to a show, the likelihood that you've gone to the Adrienne Arsht Center is high. Yes, there are other venues, but this one seems to be one of the more prominent ones. That said, I hadn't stepped inside of there in years. Going one night alone showed me why. The place is a zoo. There were so much security to even get into the building. Checking of IDs, of purses - I'm quite surprised they didn't look at you from head to toe to see if you met clothing standards! Once you passed security, though, things got a lot calmer despite dealing with lines for photo ops and elevators. Going to your desired destination, while a bit crowded, wasn't that bad, and the employees there are genuinely helpful in rerouting you when need be. As for actually sitting down and watching a show, I don't think you can beat the experience. Wherever you are, you're bound to get a good view. I recommend going wholeheartedly. I just think this may not be the best place to show up late or to get an Uber or Lyft. We had a bit of a debacle with the latter, but that's a story for another day. read more

I still love this theater space- take a tour sometime if you have not already. Very clean, good concessions and friendly staff. Only negatives are the parking company they work with sold us space in a locked lot and their customer service could not help us since it was the weekend. Also in the black box theater (the smallest of the three) there are very small bathrooms close by and more small bathrooms farther down the complex. Just confusing as to why they are all so small. read more

Wow, I admire the structure almost as much as the woman it is named after. First the structure, then more on Adrienne herself. It was built on the site of an old Art Deco Sears (the entrance for that old Sears is now used as the bookstore/cafe). The architecture is very Miami: it incorporates the best of Art Deco into a sweeping grand modern building, near the water, and on the edge of a rapidly gentrifying but still slightly dangerous neighborhood. Cesar Pelli was the famous architect. There are three main components of the center: the Ziff Ballet and Opera House, Knight Concert Hall and Carnival Studio Theater. In the main space it is very vertical and has superb acoustics. Hard modern materials get softened with sound absorption and swooping canopies to amplify the sound to the upper balconies. Nearly every Broadway touring company makes a stop here, as well as all manner of music, dance and other arts/entertainment/performance companies. I laughed very hard at Book of Mormon here and got teary eyed at Fun Home here. Now more on Adrienne herself, who is pretty impressive in her own right. She was chairperson of Totalbank (she quintupled the size of the bank in 11 years as chair and sold it for a huge price). She also trained and worked as a lawyer. I've met her in real life and she is the most humble, nicest m/billionaire on the planet. You think to yourself: wow, she does seem like the sort who would donate $30 million for the public good, and she did exactly that. She's also on the board at Kennedy Center in DC and University of Miami, plus gave a big block of money to Lincoln Center in New York. If all billionaires were like Adrienne Arsht, the world would be a better place. read more

In some areas I'm in bumper-to-bumper traffic and then I also have to be on the watch for idiots just pulling in front of me without signaling...ok, with that said, here's the review. Located along Biscayne Blvd., The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County houses several venues such as: * Carnival Studio Theater * John S. and James L. Knight Concert Hall * Ziff Ballet Opera House These venues has a wide variety of presentations like theater, dance, cabaret, comedy, broadway, classical music, jazz, opera, and many more. Tickets for any of the shows can vary from $25 and up. NOTE: Seats by the stage are the most expensive. For parking, you can either have valet park your vehicle for a fee, park your vehicle in Lot C for a fee, or for $15 park inside the Melody Tower at the corner of NE 14th St. & NE 2nd Ave. I came here to purchase my ticket in advance for The Lion King, which runs May 8 - 26, 2019. This will be my very first time seeing a musical and I look forward to the experience. The Arsht Center also gives free tours on Monday and Saturday at 12pm. You have to call the office to reserve your spot for the tour. This is something I am very interested on doing. read more

When visiting Miami, my friend and I decided to get last minutes tickets to see Jim Gaffigan. We had obviously never been to the Adrienne Arsht Center before but were very impressed with its beautiful Art Deco yet modern design. It is a beautiful building right near the water! Inside was very crowded, being a Saturday night, but the staff their kept everything moving smoothly from security, will call, and concessions. Drinks were expensive, but on par with what we were playing elsewhere in Miami. All staff I interacted with were very nice and helpful. Our seats were on the top tier so they were pretty far away from the stage (we did buy the night before on discount), but we could still hear everything perfectly (this place has a good sound system) and see ok which was fine as it was a comic. read more

Beautiful specials event venue. I have attended many live performances such as Ballet, Opera, Broadway shows and concerts. I think the Broadway in Miami seasons bring fantastic quality shows and you should definitely purchase your tickets in advance. Attached pictures are from The Lion King. Service is always great. My only comment is that F&B options are limited, however this is not a deal breaker. All of my experiences have been positive and I always look forward to attending events at Arsht Center. read more

Had the wonderful opportunity to visit the Carnival Theater yesterday to see a new production of Beauty and the Beast! It was inventive, the audience shared the stage, rules were set and everyone was aware and attentive to their parts!!! The actors were on target and there voices were magnificent. Many played dual roles and preformed as such easily. I enjoyed watching the children (for the most part) behaving exceptionally well and enjoying every moment. An audience in So Florida that behaves appropriately is rare regardless of age. read more

The Adrienne Arsht Center is located right near the heart of Miami and I can never say anything bad about the location itself! Now the area around the location itself is pretty awful when it comes to parking. While they have many lots and parking garages to choose from getting out of there is horrible. I also think that in valet charging $30 for a car plus expectation of a tip as a little insane. Aside from that the Adrienne Arsht Center is a gorgeously designed theater that hosts a wide range of events from musicals to concerts such as Weird Al. The seating is very comfortable and you have a nice amount of room between you and the row in front and behind you. When it comes to the mezzanine section though the stairs are very steep, so if you are older or have knee problems it may take a little bit of time getting it to your seat and out of your seat. The ushers here are always knowledgeable and will help show you exactly where your seats are if you need it. They have little kiosks around the center on each level that sell little snacks and wine. The drinks are very overpriced so don't expect to be getting anything nice without spending a pretty penny. Overall is a gorgeous place with some very friendly Ushers and good drinks if you were looking to spend the price. Other than that parking could definitely use some getting used to and updating. I always feel safe here! read more

Outdoors only. We spend over $60 In food and drinks for nothing. We had to throw out most every thing. They should tell everyone before purchasing that eating and drinking is not allowed inside. Attended Sigur Ros with full orchestra 9/30/24. Sat in 3rd tier. Tickets were not cheap. It was unbelievably hot and made the experience miserable. When I questioned the usher she said the temperature is controlled by the performing artist and there was nothing she could do. I will never attend another event at this venue. As a performing arts junkie, it's hard to not give the Adrienne Arsht Center anything less than five stars, although there are certainly things that could be improved. The center is comprised of three distinct spaces: Ziff Ballet Opera House, John S. and James L. Knight Concert Hall, and Carnival Studio Theater. I've been lucky enough to see productions in them all! The Opera House is where most of the touring musical productions roll through and thus, where I spend most of my time here. It's quite massive to the point where sitting in the fourth tier is simply too far for me, so I try my best to stick to the Orchestra/Mezzanine. That being said, acoustics are pretty good no matter where you're at. The Carnival Studio Theater is super intimate and great to see more local productions, while the Concert Hall is somewhere in between. There are concessions at every performance including alcohol, as well as a Books & Books outpost with full restaurant from Chef Alan Susser. The Arsht Center is located in the heart of downtown so it's great if you are able to access it via the MetroMover. If you do need to drive, there are parking lots surrounding for $10-$20, a $30 valet option for most performances, and metered street parking if you get there early enough. Getting out at the end of a show and to the highways can be a bit of a hassle depending on where you're heading. I'm thankful to have a great complex like this nearby that brings in a variety of awesome programming! I'll certainly be back time and time again. read more

Everything from the location, to the architecture, to the valet parking, to the ushers--to the shows is top notch! The auditoriums have excellent seats and sound. The seating was well calculated and planned out so that no matter what tier you sit at, you will have a great view of the stage. The second tier is my preference for dance performances, as you have full view of the choreographed movements of the dancers; from the front row, sides and back. Also, the ticket prices are accommodating. For this visit, we sat through song and dance by the Ballet Nacional de España (Spain's National Ballet), which was outstanding! From where we were seated, we didn't skip a beat, swirl, strum, syncopated clap or tap. I'm pregnant and needed to use the first floor bathroom during my sister graduation and this security officer told me to go back upstairs in the traffic of everyone coming out to use the bathroom. This is the my second or third time at the Arsht but my first review. My last visit I attended H2Ombre and had a great time. As part of a Yelp Event, Frederick D was able to secure some tickets to the Hammer of Trinity from Cassie G and so we went on Sunday's 1pm showing and boy were we in for the theatrical marathon of our lives, finishing at 11pm! Hands down the longest theatre production we have ever seen! There were 5 intermissions two of which were 1 hour long for lunch and dinner. The storyline or storylines were interesting. Fred is the fantasy novel reader so he was especially piqued by this genre. However I also enjoyed it. The production had a lot of different props and I loved how the story evolved. The intermissions were frequent enough to warm up outside. During intermission Fred and I were entertained by discourse on the most likely outcome of each chapter and how the ideas of identity, democratic vs dictatorial subjugation, hope, love, sacrifice, honor, betrayal and other subjects the play evoked. If you are going to watch the Hammer of Trinity be sure to bring an open mind and a sweater to keep warm! read more

Came here with my boyfriend to watch wicked. WHAT AN EXPERIENCE. The from start to finish I was taken away by the performance, the costumes, the professionalism, and the passion that the actors showed to their work. Really a beautiful performance that I would watch over and over. I highly recommend going here for a musical or any show they may have. Staff was incredibly helpful and kind. And they have delicious snacks and beverages for intermission and before the show. Although a little pricey on the snacks and drinks i didn't expect anything less for an environment like that. Adrianne Arsht Center, has to be my kids and I favorite place when it's time to go to a concert or show and these are many of the reasons why: The impeccable of everything in here, restrooms, staircases, always, elevators, valet parking area, waiting has, and more. The extremely nice and attentive staff, always ready to help and giving above and beyond just to make sure we are taken care of. The wonderful Volunteers that work in here of all ages. Always with a smile on their faces and nicely dressed in uniforms. The wonderful ticketing processing, either online or at the place. I have bought all of my tickets online and when I go to pick them up they always have them there for me with a receipt. The acoustics and sound system here is perfect. The chairs are comfortable. The only thing I do not like when it's time for us to go to the Arsht Center is the parking. I always have to park in the area and they charge between $15-$25 depending on the day and time I go. But other than that, nothing else is bad. We love this place and we will continue coming and supporting the Arts in the Miami area. My review also applies to a parking situation and not the venue itself, which I love. I am a season ticket holder and have been since the Center opened. We normally park in another building but that parking lot was to be closed last night (3/14/24). We decided to take advantage of the Arsht addon to park at MELODY TOWER PARKING for $28.00, the third time we have used this service. When we arrived to park, we were informed that our car was a "luxury vehicle" and that we would have to SELF PARK in the VIP area AND PAY AN EXTRA $10.00 because "[their] insurance would not cover our car." (Did they change insurance since the last time we parked there a few months ago?) If we refused, we would have forfeited the non-refundable $28.00 we had already paid. They insisted on cash a couple of times, but we insisted we would only pay credit--and they would definitely be hearing from us. The ONLY service disclaimer on the Arsht parking information for this venue is "oversize vehicles may be subject to surcharge." Our 2-seater convertible does NOT qualify as oversized. I view this as a classic bait and switch and nothing but a scam. We spoke with the Arsht duty manager as we were leaving and he was very sympathetic because, as he stated, he had 3 other complaints about the same thing that evening. He informed us that he will work on it and get back to us. I warn everybody else who wants to park at MELODY TOWER to be very conscious of this. read more

We came here to watch Charlie and the Chocolate factory. We did Will Call for our tickets and at first freaked out because while we read the email on the way there, it had the box office hours and stated it was closed on Saturday (the day of the show). We gave them a call and they assured us that was not the case. They're open until 30 minutes after the start of the show. As for parking, we were cutting it close so we did valet. The cost is $30 cash or card. The Ziff Opera House was clean, had friendly staff directing you, and had security with metal detectors as you enter. Playbills were on a bookcase that you grabbed as you entered. We didn't have any issues watching the show from our seats. The orchestra is hidden at the bottom of the stage. The sound system was good as well. On our way out, there was a line for claiming your car with valet and they had at least 5 guys actually running back and forth getting cars. I appreciate their sense of urgency, I had never seen valet drivers running like that to retrieve cars. We did still wait about 20 min for our car because so many people did valet. When we drove off, they had police directing traffic so that those coming from valet had an easy direct route to get on the highway. I loved that! No complaints with this place! read more

Since it was my first time being there I was completely lost didn't know where I was going what to do nothing. But everyone was so helpful. The Addriene Arsht Center can be a bit of a hectic mess with little to no parking. However, I have you get a pretty decent view from just about every seat (never having been seated in an obstructed view seat). Sound quality is also much better than the Broward Theater in my opinion. We had a great view and almost private experience in the third story balcony seats, would definitely recommend these. read more
