(Gosh that.word feels so old. ) The reason for four stars is the way in which the girl greeted me vs the man right behind me. Yes, I noticed. But, the gentleman that assisted me apparently did too. It was a quick & simple sale. I walked in knowing precisely what I needed. I've been shooting for 52 years, I know my stuff. Walked in & out in under 10 minutes & spent $74 on one item & a really neato battery for my D800, my play camera. I had grabbed the Nikon brand, but he showed me the one I got because it charges, the battery itself, via USB. SOLD! I already have extras, so this is my OCD, gotta have it extra. I appreciated him showing me this new shiny new fangled must have. I walked out a happy girl. Time to go click the shutter. The fact that this city is as big as it is, & this is still our only camera store - I'm still so thankful they're here. Most of their employees are exceptional, there's always one. Meh. If you have important pics that you need a professional job on, they'll do it! They have the best photo lab, and can develop your negatives into prints or slides, or even have them digitized. The service is fast, and they are very, very knowledgeable about their craft. They make great recommendations, and can really help get your development done in the best way possible. Sure, they're a bit (a lot) more expensive than going to Walgreens for your photo development. But Walgreens is just going to spit your photos out on the cheapest paper possible, without a person even looking it over to make sure that it looks its best. Instead, River City Silver will have your photos printed in the highest definition possible, will tweak the settings to make sure it looks good, and even puts a border around the photos, suitable for framing. I wouldn't trust anyone else with prized photos. They also do digitization of old photos and scrapbooks and such.

However, their website is terrible and their customer service is awful. I paid a lot for 3 huge canvases with the extra color correction. Two are perfect. The third- I like to do my own borders. It's very easy to last second knock it off center in illustrator. Since there's no way to zoom into their tiny mockup of your work without complete pixelation it's hard to see how your work is going to look. You'd think the person doing the color correction would have noticed it's not centered. Nope! There's no human to talk to- you are at the mercy of Angela who takes forever and a day to return an email. I was willing to take responsibility and needed to reprint. I had my canvases created two days before a 20% canvas sale, so I asked if I reprinted and did another huge one could I have the discount. That's fair, right? Angela couldn't even read the email correctly! Two days later (I'm on a time crunch) I get the answer "no refunds". I didn't ask for one! Still waiting on return email. For these prices there needs to be a human on a phone who can deal with artists' issues and a much better website. Moving on to another printer who has a human I can call and a much more professional website.

Problems can't be resolved and one is left trying to figure it out alone. 2. Their Note Card feature does not work well. If trying to print Christmas cards or Artist cards to sell, attaching a front and back image/text works fine but the inside insert does not work at all. It's impossible to attach anything to the inside of the card despite what they say online. Their system is flawed. 3. The color on my proofs looked fine but because of these other issues, I have decided to pass in working with this company. And from the negative reviews about color irregularity, as an artist I'm not going to risk being further disappointed.
