SCG has a large amount of gaming space in the back of the store that does not obstruct the shopping area. The large selection of trading cards including sports and collectable card gaming items is located on the left side of the store, with most behind the counter. SCG has a large selection of board games and Lego sets, with a good selection of pop vinyl's. Various table top gaming items are also available. Comic selection is primarily budget long boxes that are well organized, with some premium boxes, wall books, and a limited selection of new pulls available. Has a large selection of graphic novels. SCG Hobby is the best general hobby shop in the Altoona area and absolutely worth a stop.

This store has something for everyone. I'm into RPGs, my partner is into Lego, and both of us enjoy graphic novels & board games. I bought her a Lego set & she bought me a copy of the old classic Mille Bournes. I tried to take several photos so visitors have some idea what they might see, but these photos don't include many sections, such as the comics, Funko Pops, CCGs, or gaming miniatures. So I want to share a story and I'm asking that you share and then NOT support this business !!!!…read more On Saturday February 3rd I took my 15 yr old son to an in instructional archery shoot at Freedom archery located in East Freedom PA. This was Scheduled from 2pm -3pm. On the archery range, there is 6 lanes and they are tight together, so they were spread out a to every other one so they we're squeezed together.... again they had the range from 2-3pm. At 2:25pm a group of 3 adults who brought their very expensive bows with them and came to the range and jumped in to shoot, it was believed that they were all going to shoot the video and were just taking a few practice shots. After they shot 2 rounds of arrows, they walked out and the kids resumed their shooting. 3 minutes later they walk back back in with new targets and go up and pull down my sons target without even asking him or anyone else...... they just took over the place. The owner who was putting hot dogs on the warmer was notified, as well as another individual in the group was mention and they both shrugged it off and being nothing. So now I'm boiling...... I Walked up to all 4 guys now at this point and told them how rude they were by coming in and taking down targets without asking and that it was a 15 yr olds target who was trying to learn as they once did..... everyone of them tried to push it off on the other and lied to me..... which farther pissed me off.... so I had raised my voice a little due to displeasure, and shook my head as I'm walking back down the range to the shooting area. The bigger man of the group was running his mouth to me a little, to which he had no argument as I clearly stated it was very Unsportsmanlike of each of them to do so. Well that didn't sit too well with him and he's jabbing at me. The Owner " Andy Zeth" then says to me " I didn't know anything about it, I didn't know...... yes you did but you turned a blind eye to it 3 minutes prior to......... why..... I figure that we were the new people there and the other people had spent a lot more money there than we did, so he didn't want to piss off those people who have purchased and continue to purchase expensive items from him. After I said what I did, they mentioned group would argue back with me and once wife got in my face, I again said that I didn't want to hear it and that it was very unsportsmanlike of them. Then I was told to leave because of me speaking up to the owners customers, as he is playing cover up now and yelling at me, because these group of men basically bullied my son and ignored both times they were made aware of the situation, and yet nothing was done, so as a father, I spoke up for my son...... and I will say that I was so mad, I even mention to taking the one outside after the display they showed..... we protect our children. I thought that the store was large and contained a massive mixture of products. Brands were sometimes name-brand and were steeply discounted to low prices. I bought holiday napkins and a dog collar and spent only $6 total! At checkout, the lines of customers were long. The cashiers did their best to move us along quickly. My cashier said thank you and to have a nice day. I gave a neutral rating because I could not imagine spending time to sift through the racks of miscellaneous clothes to find things that I like.

We are a family of 10, we have biological, adopted, and foster children. My husband and I are so…read moreunbelievably blessed. Being such a large family we don't get to do a lot of local activities that require individual passes. We do a lot of camping and outdoor activities. The kids absolutely love Urban Air and a visit is what they chose as a reward for good behavior:) (I mean come on 8....kids need an incentive to get along, lol) Not only did the DeGol and Palau families give my son a bike at Christmas, they also sent all of our kids Ultimate Attractions passes! We recently got a placement of a sibling set of sisters :) and thought that this was the perfect time to use our passes and the kids could really bond while doing something so fun! We went on Sunday and I didn't see the kids except when I ordered pizza (which they loved)! I got home yesterday and there was mail from Urban Air Altoona. The DeGol family and Palau families sent more passes to my kids and a handwritten letter thanking us for sharing our story. What an amazing, caring, and community minded business! I am very very grateful!

A worker named "Owen" told my friend to go to the other side and then called him a "good boy" We then told him he can't say that because he is literally an adult working there but he replied "I'm a minor too" "I'm 4 years older than you" Clearly this is not right so we tried to get his name but he persisted. A few minutes later Owen addressed my friend as a "bad boy" This experience disturbed my friends and I to my core. Later as my friend stood against the wall because he was out, Owen came behind him and started watching him. This is inappropriate, inexcusable behavior and should not be tolerated! This whole thing disgusted me, as it was very sexual. This was my experience at a usually very fun park. He failed to say sorry too.
