Louis, the store manager got me registered for their Loyalty Rewards program Since I live in South Fort Mill, I tend to think about location and drive time as the population continues to boom here. Most all the other Auto Parts stores in Fort Mill are on the North side of Interstate 77 or Rock Hill and Indian Land. Since I live near Catawba Ridge HS, I try NOT to go over I-77, especially since the Hiway 160 interchange won't be completed for another 2 years and the traffic can be intense. This is a great option with all your Auto Parts needs. It's right next to the Neighborhood Walmart store near Tom Hall and Doby's Bridge Rd. Plenty of free parking and a convenient location.

My service was satisfactory and the customer service was excellent. Tim was pleasant and engaging on the phone and the same in person. He was also extremely knowledgeable about all things Honda and took time to explain to me the whys and wherefores of the minor (but fairly expensive) repairs I will need for my car and why I (thankfully) don't need them right this minute. We also had a detailed discussion about my projected maintenance schedule. I do NOT procrastinate when it comes to regular auto maintenance but dialoguing with Tim about my care was a real lesson in mechanics. I left with a greater understanding of the importance of sticking to the schedule to keep my baby running well. I paid pretty much the same as at the dealership for my oil and filter change because of the type of oil my car needs. Spending my dollars with local businesses... It's good right? ;-)

In all three instances, they were able to get me scheduled quickly. I was able to get in and out in about an hour each time. The guys in the shop greeted me pleasantly and didn't exercise any intensive upselling on products or services that I did not schedule for or need. Overall, I've been pleased with Discount Tire as a service company for several years and am happy with this new to me location thus far. I had put the spare on the evening before so when he looked at the tire, he said: "it's a pretty big nail, we'll have to inspect after we pull it to determine if we can repair it". So instead of trying to explain it, the counter person puts on some gloves and they went out to go show him. I think that's awesome. When it came my time, the gal (yes, a gal behind the counter!) took me over to the aisle where the polishes are and showed me which ones were good and even told me which one she uses on her car. The owner, Roy, says he's been in business for 25 years, but he has ZERO customer service skills - he and his daughter-in-law were utterly rude and hung up the phone on me when I was calmly discussing my concerns about not feeling safe when driving my young daughters in the car. It was a total bait and switch! How can you say you can have a mechanic check it and when he does (and finds multiple issues) then you change your mind??!
