I am…read morenot much of a complainer & I usually just roll with the punches but what's right is right & wrong is wrong so, I had to share this with others in hopes you all don't waste time, money or energy dealing with people who simply couldn't care less about the way they treat customers or the work they do. 12/17/2024 I took my 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee to South Tryon Auto with the check engine light on. I was unaware of the problem and wanted to get a diagnostic and have the repairs done. Joseph informed me that he was short staff and was almost working alone (which should have been a red flag) however, I was desperate to have my car serviced, and I left my car with him. Little did I know I would not get my car back until 1/16/2025, a month later. I paid almost $1600 for repairs/labor/parts, whatever and upon receiving my jeep back, the check engine light was still on. I was told to drive the car a few miles and it will go off. Also, when I initially dropped the jeep off on 12/17/2024, my park sense was not reading "unavailable" but on this day it was. After driving the car a while on that SAME day, I noticed the check engine light in fact did not go off and my park sense was still saying "unavailable" which it had not been doing before leaving my car with this shop for almost a month. So I called, same day as my pick up and spoke to JOSPEH and told him what was happening, he told me to bring the car back so they could reset the light and see what was happening with the park sense. I go to the shop this morning and am told by IVAN, that the park sense was not related to the work they completed. While this may be true (I'm not sure), if I paid for a diagnostic and brought my car to be repaired, why would I still have a check engine light on? I brought my car to you with the light on and left the same way, meaning something was still wrong, and my car wasn't fixed COMPLETELY! Nonetheless, aside from the work not being complete, IVAN decided it was a good idea to argue aggressively with me stating things like "I don't know how else to tell you or explain", avoiding direct yes or no questions, and refusing to be accountable for their wrong doing. And yes, I did assert myself as well! JOSEPH, whom I assume is the owner or manager did not come to assist or bring forth any resolution. Nor did he try to mediate or rectify the situation while he was there to hear and see what was going on. We were just going back and forth in the lobby and IVAN refused to admit that my car should've never left with the check engine light on and I should've never been told it would go off. He would not admit the check engine light should not be coming back on after work was completed by them because he did not want to incriminate himself or the mechanics for a half assed job. If I bring my car with the check engine light on, I ask you to fix it, why would you not address all problems before calling me to pay & pick it up? IVAN insisted on telling me what they fixed instead of acknowledging that they missed something, which they obviously did! I am posting this as a warning to not patronize this shop. Take my mistake and stay clear as your work will not be completed promptly or correctly and you will not be treated appropriately should you have a valid complaint or you are not satisfied with the work done. I did not have an appointment and that was not a problem on this particular morning. They were able to get my car started and the service manager said that he'd give me a call when it was ready. I headed over for breakfast. An hour later, my car was nearly ready. Inspection done, oil change done, but they wanted to know if it was okay to charge an additional $30 to repair a nail in one of my tires. Yes, please. A half hour later, I was ready to roll. Car inspected, oil changed, tires all with air. Easy, pleasy. Thank you, AAA!

Passport: I had to get a photo for my Canadian passport. The fellow at the passport desk had me…read morestand and click for a photo. I saw him on the machine doing something. He then showed it to me, it was wrong. Canada has its passport information posted on their site and clearly shows the size/dimension and what needs to be in and on the back of the picture. I told the guy and he adamantly disagreed. He said our machine is set to Can. PP standards. With that I sent in my renewal fee with that picture. A few weeks later I got a call saying the picture is wrong. I must send another with the required information on the back. I went back to the Ballantyne location and thankfully a gal was there. She took it and it came out perfect, it was the size it should be. No adjustments. She stamped the back with the location info, her name, etc. My advice... go elsewhere if you see that small fellow in front of the computer at the PP desk. Membership renewal: Another day I went in to renew my AAA membership. I've been a member for 48 yrs. I had to change my address due to a move. Received my new card in the mail with the correct acct number. A few weeks later I received mail with another card to my current address. It had my previous married last name with a different acct number? I've been divorced for 17 yrs. I took the card into the Ballantyne office and asked... why this? The fellow looked around on the computer and couldn't figure it out. I asked him to cancel that membership, said he did. Someone had to go back in the AAA history to find that info., then take the time to create a new card and have it sent out.

During the appointment, I was informed of several "critical" issues and presented with an estimated repair cost of around $950. A previous visit resulted in a similar experience with a bill of about $1,450. When I asked to see the parts that were supposedly replaced or failing, nothing was available for review. I also found it surprising to be told that certain components--such as O‑rings--were leaking at only 50,000 miles, especially since these are generally expected to last significantly longer under normal conditions. I'm sharing my experience so others can make informed decisions. Based on multiple visits with similar outcomes, I personally do not feel confident returning for future service or sales.
