    I called (661-266-4542) hoping to buy a phone for my aunt and put it on my plan for her to pick up…read more(She lives not far from this Palmdale store; I live ~300 miles away). I called a couple times around noon, and got sent to voicemail. Well, not actual voicemail, because the recording just said voicemail hasn't been set up. Seems like a bad sign for a phone store, but whatever, obviously not available to take my call. I finally get through to someone later that afternoon and explain what I want to do. Without answering my question as to whether it's possible, he asks for my phone number (which I give) and then my PIN. For whatever reason, I get a bad vibe. Maybe it's all the training I get at work to never share my password with another living soul. And though I realize I'm calling to do business about my phone plan, I just wasn't comfortable giving up my PIN; at least not while we're still at the planning stage. I explain that, and ask if there's another way to continue. No. (Boost, are you listening?) So then I think, well, I like my PIN; how about I change it to something temporary and then call back? So I ask the guy's name so I can ask for him later. No. At this point, he's mocking me--using the same language I used earlier about my PIN. And he's very clear that he won't tell me his name. So get off the phone pretty annoyed. But I move forward with the temporary PIN anyway. I call back 2 more times at about 4pm and get the same non-existent voicemail as before. I figure it's a sign to take my business elsewhere. I give up and order the phone online instead. You might be better off doing the same.
