He and his staff are exceptional. Every aspect of this practice is directed toward the well-being of the patient. This is simply the best dental care I've ever received. Here you will find a highly skilled and extremely well rounded practice, without the high-cost frills and window dressing. This is a place to heal, maintain health and wellbeing. My wife and I trust Dr. Sossner. He is consistently empathetic, and so are those that work along side him. Both my wife and I have standard issue teeth - some problems , mostly older cavities, some root canals needed. Our care has been top-notch. There is never an instance where we feel the procedures are unnecessary or excessive. In one case when we needed specialized work done, we were promptly referred to a specialist, one with both high quality expertise, as well as being reflective of the kind of service we had come to expect from anyone associated with Dr. Sossner. Both of our boys have been with Dr. Sossner since they were 5 and 9. Now that they are undergrad and graduate students, they make it a priority to visit Dr. Sossner when they come home for their dental needs. My 91 year old mother now lives with us, and her dentist recently retired. Once the pandemic eases up, Dr. Sossner will have yet another member of our family as a patient. I am proud and honored to give Dr. Sossner's practice this 5-star rating. ... Note: There are three other prior reviews here. One is a 2-star. He cares deeply about his profession and patients and has a great "chair side" manner. Hal's staff is fully pro, too. An interesting (to me) aside. I moved here from Omaha, where we lived for a dozen years. Had a dentist there who said I had really great teeth and gums and as a result, recommended cleanings only once a year. Moved here and tried a dentist in Delmar who, upon his first look, said I needed gum work. Something with a laser. I don't recall the details. That felt wrong based on my prior dentist's opinion. Before I had any more work done by the Delmar fellow, I met Hal at a social gathering. Shortly after, I had an appointment with Hal who confirmed that I have great teeth and gums and need no gum work. Twelve years later, while looking up his number on Yelp, I see he has one bad review, so I'm happy to give him his second glowing review in an effort to encourage you to give him a try.

They let you know the cost, what insurance will cover and your final out of pocket cost ahead of time. The hygienist is very friendly, always concerned about if you're comfortable. She does a great job and prefers to do the cleaning with tools which to me seems less painful. Now we get to Doctor Montag who is a doctor that believes in modern technology and isn't afraid to get it. Today I went in for a cleaning, and informed the hygienist that a cap had fallen off last week. She took an X-ray and Dr Montag came in to look at it. He then informed me that a client had cancelled and that he could take care of it right away. I decided, why wait! One of the great things about this office is he has invested in the equipment to make a crown right away. Within an hour he had it made, installed and I don't have to return. The business side is flawless: check ins and initial intake are handled very well, and we got good help when the very partial dental insurance reimbursement for one kid's choppers went to the wrong place. Appointment times are kept very close, and are offered at school-friendly times for routine visits (although more extensive things may have to be scheduled earlier in the day). Throw in amenities: parent coffee and tea (the good stuff), mostly-working video game consoles (keeps the younger kids occupied) and a cheery if occasionally a bit crowded waiting area. Dr. DeLuke's extremely friendly with both parents and kids and explains things well without being condescending, and the medical assistant staff are also chipper and efficient without making it seem like you're rushed. So it has that happy medium of being pretty quick but if you need more time to have things explained, not a problem. One extra touch: one of my kids has a hearing problem for which he sees an ENT; Dr DeLuke took the time to get us a CD of the full scans he did for the orthodonture intake to show all the relevant parts of the head that we could take to the ENT at his next visit, who appreciated them. I take this as a sign he's a medical professional first, as it were, and an orthodontist second, and that's what you want in a specialty practitioner.

Dr King understood my fears and explained the procedure his dental assistant stayed in the room the whole time and kept checking on me to ensure I was doing OK. He also recommended "gas" which I gladly accepted. Since then I have had a few dental procedures with no issues. I have my teeth cleaned regularly and I find his dental hygienist professional and courteous. The office staff is very knowledgeable and helpful with the variety of dental plans that they deal with to ensure that everything is covered or if needed assist with the paperwork for financing.
