As a tech enthusiast, I was handed an iPad to complete my check in paperwork so I appreciated the used of technology which made it more seamless. I mean who uses pen and paper anymore? I'm not much of a stickler for time as I was greeted shortly after my appointment time but when I was greeted by my initial tech, forgive me I forgot her name I forgot all about it. She was very nice and provided clear explanations of we were doing and next steps which was nice to be apart of process. THEN I was introduced to my Dental Hygenist Amanda who is a . Dr King understood my fears and explained the procedure his dental assistant stayed in the room the whole time and kept checking on me to ensure I was doing OK. He also recommended "gas" which I gladly accepted. Since then I have had a few dental procedures with no issues. I have my teeth cleaned regularly and I find his dental hygienist professional and courteous. The office staff is very knowledgeable and helpful with the variety of dental plans that they deal with to ensure that everything is covered or if needed assist with the paperwork for financing. My teeth are in rough shape right now, and after a horrible past dentist who basically wanted to pull everything out (trauma city), I was expecting the worst. Instead, I met Dr. Schwartz, and within minutes he had me feeling safe, cared for, and even laughing. Yes... actually laughing in a dentist's chair. Wild. He listened to me, he understood my fears, and at one point after hearing what I went through, he just looked at me with this gentle "you poor thing" energy -- but in the sweetest, most compassionate way. Not judgmental, not pitying... just genuinely kind. He has a great sense of humor, an incredibly gentle approach, and he made me feel human, not embarrassed. I left feeling relieved, grateful, and honestly shocked that I found a dentist I'm excited to go back to. While I have never had any major issues, I have been pleased over the last three visits. The check-in paperwork is electronic which makes a lot of sense to me in 2018 and it's simple to complete. I've never had to wait long for an appointment, either. Everything seems to run on time and everyone is friendly. My hygienist is gentle and friendly. They keep you with the same hygienist each time and they immediately schedule the appointment with you themselves after the cleaning. Dr. Schwartz has been my doctor. He is gregarious and seems thorough. I was pregnant and couldn't get x-rays during a couple of cleanings, but felt he inspected my teeth carefully. While it's in an unassuming building, this has been a great practice so far. I only withhold one star because I have never experienced anything beyond basic care there.

I am not the kind who comes in as often as they should. I KNOW THAT. IMO, that shouldn't entitle you to give me an attitude when I call or come in, but it's been happening for years and will probably keep right on happening. It doesn't matter if you tell them to be nice, this particular one will keep right on acting the same way. I developed a pretty intense fear of the dentist that resulted in my complete and utter dentist avoidance for a period of 5 years. When my molars started to give me pain, I knew I wasn't being smart. You can choose to not open your credit card bill, but you keep racking up fees. Cavities, like credit card charges, don't just evaporate because you ignore them. My friend Jen, who had been a dental hygienist for ten years, recommended Cristi Trufas-Freinberg to me. With some trepidation, I scheduled an appointment. I was right, my teeth were a mess. I had 16 cavities, which might has well been a million. Here's the part where I should freak out, but here's why I didn't: - Professional, courteous, and knowledgeable front desk staff. Same lady. Every time. Know what she's doing. - Interesting and gentle hygienists who are really good not just at cleaning, but also serve as "tooth coach," coaxing you into better dental habits. - Cristi just has a mild mannered, sweet way about him. He's soft spoken and kind. Where'd you'd expect heaping mounds of judgement (16 CAVITIES, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!), you just get patience and sensitivity. He really listens to you, and when you tell him you are afraid of the dentist, he reassures you. When he could feel my heart thumping out of my chest, he stopped to ask if I was ok. He told me if I experienced any pain, to raise my left hand, and he would stop. I did, and he actually stopped. When I told him I could feel the drilling, he ordered up more novocain immediately and waited for it to take effect before proceeding. I once had a dentist refuse to give me novocain, telling me it was all in my imagination, that my cavity was shallow, and that I needed to calm down. The way he treated me renewed my faith in dentists. - The drill and fill room is on an enclosed sun porch that faces the woods. It's warm, bright, and comforting. I actually look forward to going there. You shouldn't go there, but if you have to, it will be nice. Bottom line: if you're terrified of the dentist, this is the place for you.
