RIPPED ME OFF!!!! My air conditioner wasn't working and they told me that I needed a whole new system, when I said right now I can afford it they said they could do a temporary fix but could not guarantee it. The cost was $618 and with the temperature in my being 82 degrees I paid them. To make sure I needed a new system I had two other companies come out and give me a quote. Both stated that I was ripped off the part and the two minute labor I would have only paid at the most $250. I called the company to complain and they just stated "I could have said NO." Advance come out check the Central Air they said the breaker box was bad set coil needed cleaned for $680 and then they want to charge over $4000 for the breaker box and so we called another company. Sears came out they said the breaker box was bad so we called FPL they came out the technician the breaker box thoroughly took it all absolutely nothing wrong with it. He said it had to be something with the Center so a couple days later my husband went out and looked at it, checked the drain pipe where the water is supposed to drain and he the pipe apart and a gallon plus water the pipe itself was clogged very badly. He cleaned all of that and it's still draining lots of water and the air has been working great with no problems. not professional their technicians. Have no idea what they're That's one of the should've checked a drain but they didn't even touch it so they don't even deserve a one star. read more

After spending hundred of dollars for a home service contract and 20,000 for a Lenox AC seer 124 and Hybrid water heater they had to offer, the last tree years they cam back and charged us 900-1000 dollars to refill the refrigerant the the units were loosing. The people were poorly trained and spent half the time on their iPhones. Not one, took the extra time after recharging the systems to see if it was leaking more refrigerant. I finally after they charged me 600 dollars for a 59 dollar capacitor have had enough with the bad overpriced service and lack of customer care told them I wanted to get another company. If I read all the review on Yelp they are all 1 star only and pretty much justify the experience I have had with Advance Air In Edgewater. When their technician came out, a salesperson joined him. What should have been a repair visit quickly turned into a sales pitch. I was told my system wasn't worth fixing and that repairs would cost thousands with no guarantee. When I asked about less expensive options, they claimed only one other system existed and it was barely cheaper. They said the Lennox system was my "best value," even though other licensed contractors had already quoted me similar systems for much less. After back-and-forth calls with a "manager," they finally agreed to match a prior quote around $18,700, including a full Lennox setup with UV light, filtration, and new refrigerant line sets. Based on that representation, I moved forward. The installation proved they never intended to honor that agreement. * They installed a cheap off-brand UV system instead of the Lennox equipment listed. * They reused my old refrigerant line set, even though replacing it was part of the deal. * When questioned, they claimed those parts "weren't included because of a discount," which was never mentioned in writing. * The paperwork they issued afterward omitted major details and downplayed the system's issues. This company's conduct was deceptive from start to finish. They misrepresented pricing, substituted cheaper materials, and failed to deliver the agreed-upon system. We had been using Advanced Air for both our plumbing and AC system for the past eight years since they originally installed our AC unit. Monday they came out for normal maintenance and identified that we had a refrigerant leak. Their quoted price to simply find the leak was over $800 and said if it was in the evap coil the price for that would be over $3600 and if in the condensing coil, it'd be over $4100. We called another company for a second opinion. The second company came out and confirmed that there was a leak - said there is no charge for finding the leak (took about 45 minutes) - and determined that it was a leak in the evap coil. They also said that with the age of the unit, the part was actually still under warranty and that the pricing for labor to replace it would be $660 plus the cost of the refrigerant (they also Identified a couple other lesser issues - condensor and contacter). Over $4,400 (for a long term customer) from Advanced and a final billing of $1098 from their competitor. (And throughout the entire exchange with Advanced, they kept pushing their "Home Comfort Club" for $199 that would get us priority service and a discount on future work.) ......................................................................never ever again. read more

I recently had the company replace an outside hose bib at my condo in New Smyrna Beach. While the work was successfully completed, this is the most egregious rip-off I've ever experienced. The plumber used maybe $20 of parts and took no more than an hour to do the work. He charged $820 in total, including a diagnostic fee. No diagnosis was required - the handle broke off! While the plumber was there he attempted to sell me on replacing the thermal expansion tank on the hot water heater at a cost of over $900! He never did convince me that it needed to be replaced. This is my second really bad experience with this company. A little less than two years ago, they installed two new HVAC units in the condo. The initial proposal by the salesman was ridiculously expensive. After considerable back and forth and changing what he recommended the final bill was less than half the original proposal. I should have known better to contact them again but I was in a hurry since the plumber I would have normally used wasn't available on short notice. Bad decision on my part. read more

Do not patronize this business. They installed our central unit less than 3 years ago. Unit stopped cooling. We called them because of the 10 year parts warranty. Tech came out and spent 36 minutes at our house. He replaced the capacitor, which was covered by parts warranty and bill was $420. The unit failed to cool the house that night and called again. A different tech came out and said the fan motor was not working and this part was still under warranty but the service charge would be $850. At this point, we declined their services and called another company. That company was able to access the Lenox warranty and the service charge was $350. Their install filled my 9 month old, warranted a/c / heat pump with water and they refused to service until 3 days later. All other a/c companies recommended to get a totally new system, but Advanced would not hear of it. Their employee turn over is high and if I could give them a zero I would. Two years ago I had Advanced Air install an electrostatic air filter system to help with our air quality. At the time they left me two additional filters. When I needed more filters was unable to find anyone who carried the filters. Upon call AA I was told that they had to be ordered through them and that they would come out to check the size. The price for the filters was over $100 a piece and only came in packs of 4. I had to pay upfront for the filters. Over a week latter they dropped off the filters which still had the manufacturer's name on the box. Upon looking up the website for the manufacturer I discovered that anyone can order three packs for $34 each. Now I understand why AA employees would not give me the name of the company, they outright lied to me about ordering the filters myself so they could triple the cost of each filter along with ordering 4 instead of 3. At the time they also told me that my four year old house needed the junction boxes resealed and the ducts cleaned, the cost $4000. I decided to get another bid and sure enough I was able to have the work done for $1400, the original contractor had not sealed the junction boxes correctly. Stay away from this company, they mislead clients and try to up sale with inflated costs. They are part of a large corporation that uses unethical business practices. I have found a local family owned company that is ethical. You might want to consider the same. read more

A friend of my neighbor did the work, I had material which by the way is worth under $30 and it took him 15 minutes. Really $535.00 completely ridiculous. Tuesday I had this company come to service my AC. They did the diagnostic and told us it would cost $3800 to repair the system the has 4 years left on it's warranty. I called another company and they fixed it for $128. Last year they said that they had to evacuate the system and recharge it to the tune of $1500. Als never gave us a written estimate for new ac or a written estimate on replacing all the parts that they said were not good. They spent at least a half hour trying to sell us a unit. They installed a unit for us a couples ago. The AC drain keeps clogging. They charge 420 dollar to remove the clog. I mentioned that a quick search for this service shows a charge from $75-250 at almost any other company. There was nothing special about the clog - took him less than 10 minutes to complete the job. Advanced Air charged our 89-year-old mother $3,689.21 for replacing an under-warranty compressor. They had installed the HVAC unit a couple of years ago, so she called them when it was not cooling properly. When the technician came to her home, he told her she had to sign for the work to be done on a blank tablet. She was not given an estimate of the cost and was told it was under warranty. When we asked the office manager, Marie, to send an itemized invoice so we could know what we were paying for, she said "we don't do that." When questioned about the cost, she finally said the the compressor was under warranty and we were being charged for 6 pounds of R410A and the labor. It took two visits of about an hour each to "fix" the unit, so we were charged $3,689.21 for 2 hours labor and 6 pounds of R410A? Marie's response, "we are a flat-rate company." That's some flat rate! And they did not even put the filter back into the unit after completing the replacement. To top it off, 10 days after the unit was "repaired", we found it leaking all over the garage floor. A third technician came out and found out that the previous tech had not cleared the lines. When we tried to contact Advanced Air customer service, it took numerous phone calls over almost a month to finally actually talk to Manager Marie. We were consistently told that only she could answer our questions and she would return our call. She never returned calls. When we finally were insistent enough to get through to her, she was evasive, rude and when we mentioned that the Better Business Bureau and our attorney might not think that Advanced Air was charging a fair price, Marie hung up on us. So, do not do business with Advanced Air unless you want to experience very poor workmanship, extremely bad customer service from Office Manager Marie and exorbitant prices on under-warranty repairs. read more

Read my original review below for details of their first visit. We had to have them back again after having them here last week. Unfortunately, after the techs left the same problem started happening. Now it appears that the unit we purchased just over 2 years ago needs replacement. It seems like if you're paying $5200 for a new AC unit it should last longer than that. Unfortunately, we'll be going with another company and hopefully their quality will be better. Since we heard that we needed a replacement we had 2 other service companies come over and both said the unit doesn't need replacement. Advanced Air gave us 2 options 1.) a $1600 repair that might last a year or 2.) replace the unit for between 10k and 12k. We decided to get another opinion. We got 2 from 2 different companies. Advanced Air was going to charge $200/lb for refrigerant. Both of the other companies said $70/lb-ish. We are disappointed in Advanced Air and felt lied to. The company we went with charged us $600 including the refrigerant. ****Original 5 star review****I've had a great experience with AAHS's customer service. I was able to contact someone through a text message at a later hour and got very helpful and courteous service. I had not one but 2 techs arrive to assist me today with a potential issue. They were so knowledgeable and helpful. They looked at my A/C unit, took pictures, and showed me what to keep an eye on. They also sent me a picture of something we could do to make our system easier to take care of. Highly recommend. I may even purchase the twice a year maintenance coverage. read more

Crooks! I tried them because they could come quickly, and no extra charge for Saturday. Was charged $49 for NOTHING! Needed a hand-held bidet we bought on Amazon installed, which is really a DIY job, but we had a few leaks when we tried. Got an estimate for tightening the leaks on the bidet: $200!!! This was NOT a free estimate!! Tech also offered to fix a leaky outside faucet, along with the leaky bidet, for a total of $600!! Told the plumber (if he was even a plumber) to go away. But had to pay him $49 for the "service call." My husband finally fixed the leaky bidet himself in 20 minutes. Company has a nice website and nice trucks, and will get to your house quick, but I think this is NOT a legitimate business. I would give minus stars if possible. DO NOT USE! read more

I've been using these folks for about four years now. I purchased two new AC units from them and about to buy a new one. I've also used them for repairs for the last four years. My family also uses them company for 8 other AIRBNBs they operate in Palm Coast. I cannot tell you how disappointed I am in the lack of service they provided this past weekend. I called for service Saturday around 3 pm for 33 Fischer Lane and was told someone would be there in a few hours. NO ONE SHOWED UP OR CALLED. I called again Sunday morning and was told someone would be there first thing before noon. NO ONE SHOWED UP OR CALLED. I called again just now (Sunday at 4pm) and could not even get through to anyone. This is unacceptable. I won't be using them again. read more

My recent experience with this company has not been good at all. In November we purchased a top of the line AC system from them. Within a day of instillation the outside unit quit working. They sent a tech out who said that he fixed the problem. He didn't. Within a few days the unit stopped working again. The sent another tech out who said the fixed the problem. He didn't. So within a few days it stopped working for the second time. This time they sent their "problem solver" tech out who said it was fixed. But 8 months later it has stopped working again. Another different tech came out abd said it needed a major part and told me he would order it the next day and would call me with an update. 2 days later we had called the company 3 times with no return call. I was told that the part had been ordered (lost 2 days with no AC because of their failure to order the part timely). I was told that they would give me an update on the part the next day. Surprise! I didn't get a call or text. So, I have been without AC for 5 days and will have to wait 3 more days before the unit is fixed. If you are considering using this company for your AC needs I would encourage you to proceed with caution. For 13 years the provided excellent service on my previous unit and they had my trust 100% but now I wish that I had used another company for my new unit. read more

It's a shame what has happened to this company. Erik, our salesman, pretty much lied about everything to get the sale. Then didn't respond to texts or phone calls, or return to confirm satisfaction, on the day of install as promised. Note, there was never any issue of price or payment considerations. The install, so far, has been fine and the 2 gentleman who performed that work seemed competent. The call from the GM did not reinforce my trust in them, Altho he did mention they had a 4.8 review rating. I think he probably should look at the average of the most recent reviews because apparently there has been a more recent decline in satisfaction. 2 bad experiences is enough. My husband and I have used Advanced Air for over 20 years and have always trusted them. No more. Have a Lennox HVAC system installed 4/11/22. Have done the monthly maintenance to keep drain clean and changed filters. Have bi- yearly check ups done. This check up my technician tells me I have dirt on my coils ( How and when did this happen? 3 other technicians missed it?) Tech told me a completely different story on where I should be placing my filters then what the installers and the last 3 tech said. Then proceeded to tell me I needed a $3535. ( with a discount it was to be $2828.) cleaning on my coils. Needless to say I feel like I'm being set up. Of course my warranty doesn't cover this issue, how convenient. read more

It brings me no pleasure to say that we had terrible service with Advance Air Home Services. I want to preface this with I completely understand their work for us was done post-hurricane. Which is understandably a busy time. But the lack of communication, false information, and disregard for our property isn't justifiable to being busy. It's poor customer service. Without writing a novel of the entire situation, Advance air's lack of communication put us without power for a week (which could have all been avoided with better communication or them giving us accurate information), costing us $1,000 in propane on our own dime. When they did finally come out, they forgot to do elements of the job that we had agreed upon during their initial visit, as well as leaving trash, some of it being sharp and hazardous to our animals and lawnmower, scattered all over our yard. It was just the lack of respect for our home and property that was the final straw for me I emailed Advance Air after this was all said and done letting them know hos disappointed I was in their service. I was sent a response with 0 apology or explanation, only that they would reach back out to me regarding the matter. It's been over 10 days with 0 response from them. I was extremely disappointed with this company and will never recommend Advance Air to anyone in the area. read more

During a routine HVAC service the tech made a mistake and leaked out all my coolant, which is ok people make mistakes but then they lied and said it was caused by improper installation of a valve and I needed a new part that would take 6 weeks to arrive. So we were without heat or cooling for over a month. Then when the part arrived the new tech admitted the first tech just made a mistake and I didn't really need a new part after all. The new tech made a simple fix and replaced the coolant (which could have been done a month ago) But for some reason they are still charging me 800 for the repair and swapping of a part which would have taken hours... I have tried calling and never got a call back. Unfortunately will have to file a complaint with BBB and work with credit card company to reverse the charges. They are trying to charge me 800 for an issue they caused and then never even performed the service they lied and said I needed. Also I should mention my HVAC isn't even 2 years old!!!! Used this company a couple years ago for AC installation. Purchased a 12 year extended warranty. Called in November to see if I needed service because I noticed a small hole in coil. AC was working ok. I just wanted to be sure. They tested and it was fine but said I needed a new capacitor for $400. They said that part wasn't covered. I called manufacturer who told me it was covered. After contacting them numerous times they said they would take care of it. Have not received refund. Part actually costs less than $20. This is a different company now who rips people off. Please do not use them!! read more

Then next day they refuse to refund you for the deposit for services not rendered. You use the word illegal to not resolve the matter they say they are instructed to hang up on customers. We had a wonderful experience with Advanced Air! One of our units was not cooling, and we called Advanced Air for service. Dispatch was able to schedule for the following day (not their fault it seemed like the hottest day of season and Fourth of July in just 2 days).
