We are 20 year customers of Advanced Air, and the service has declined tremendously over the last few years. We have a service contract with them so that they service our equipment two times a year, and they installed a new A/C for us in 2020. This weekend, our 3-year old A/C was frozen over (clearly something was wrong), so on Monday at 7:30am we called for service. They came on Monday at 6pm and said that it needed free-on, which the tech added and then left. The A/C then ran continually for 15 hours and did not cool below 75. We called them on Tuesday morning at 7:30am and asked that they come by again to fix the unit. They said we would have a tech come by between 5-11pm. I called several times to ensure that this tech was coming and was assured he was. No one ever showed. No one called. I called them again on Wednesday morning at 7:30am to get on the schedule for Wednesday. They stated that the first appointment would be Thursday from 9-12. We took that appointment, but asked to speak with a manager to let them know our frustration. They said they would have a manager call us. No one called. We turned off the A/C this morning because it was freezing up again, and we know that they cannot work on it if it is frozen over. So in this August heat wave, we have no A/C for the fifth day in a row. It is now Thursday at 3pm and our "window" was 9-12. We have yet to see an Advanced Air person at our building. I called Advanced to find out where the tech was, and they said that our appointment was changed to the last one of the day, with a 3-6pm window. No one called us to tell us this. We have taken off work for 4 days now to sit in our very hot house to be available for these techs, and no one has shown or called. You used to be able to call the office and speak with someone, but now they have an answering service that is not able to speak with dispatch. Advanced Air now has absolutely the WORST service. When our maintenance contract is over, we will be looking elsewhere. Save your time and money and use a different A/C service provider. read more

ABSOLUTE FIASCO. Do not use these guys. We have an air conditioner that is 1 year old that Advanced Air installed and and is still under warranty. We were told the service call would be free. Then they get out here and say we will have a $50 charge. Then they wanted to charge $700 for labor. Their competitors quoted us half the price. These guys are a disorganized rip off. Highly do not recommend this company. They took advantage of my elderly parents. Sold them items that were not necessary and way above market price. When I called four times to speak to someone about this to explain to me the charges was finally told "that's just what it costs". When I asked for an explanation of what the device in fact did, the person that could answer this question never called me back. My AC went down 2 yrs in a row a couple days after my yerly maintenance check and it took them a week to come back and fix it. They promised me a 7 yr extended warranty on my generac generator and no one will call me back about it. There service stinks. Advanced AC is a hot mess from top to bottom, be wary or just Avoid them completely. Here's what they did to me in May 2023 on my annual check up prior to Summer. Sold me a new capacitor based on tech inspection, he installed it incorrectly, possibly on purpose.This caused fan motor noise so i called them back. Second 'tech' Joe barely touches the outside unit leaving the capacitor installed wrongly and told me i needed a new fan motor and blades est $1200. Asked if i wanted to speak with Sales to quote a new unit.... charged me another fifty$$ bucks trip charge to come back by. I got a 2nd opinion, this tech corrected the capacitor install in about 3 minutes and the unit returned to normal efficiency and noise level. Their 'managers' disputed any and all issues and refused any monetary return. At best, they have poorly trained techs and bad managers. At worst, they are doing this on purpose to rip off us seniors. Advanced heat and air placed my unit back in 2016 after hurricane. Since 2016 they have been reliable and solid service. I do regular maintenance on my unit and it runs solid. Charles was at my place to do check and gave me additional instructions on how to keep the unit in top performance shape. This is exactly what you want. This company marks up the price of equipment by over 100% and refuses to issue an itemized invoice so you can't see how much they mark up the price. i purchased the gas pool heater from them and had them install. what should have been a 3 hour job lasted 3 days as they either did not have proper supplies with them or unit was not properly connected. Retail price of unit from most pool stores is $3,200. They charged a total of $7,900 for the job. in my opinion this is price gouging. Advanced air was a terrific company 10 plus years ago. Fast forward and they have been sold 2 times and are now owed by a larger Company. All calls are forwarded to a call center for last 6 plus months. If you can get thru which is a big if, you get added to a scheduling group and get a fake appointment which gets charged by a dispatcher. They admit they are under staffed as the experienced tech's left the company. I was out of A/C for 4 days before they showed up. I found another reliable company that arrived in 4 hours and fixed the problem and had me back up and running. And I have a service contract with Advanced air which was not worth anything. The $18 check up is worthless - they don't do anything. It's in place to be first to suggest a new unit. Stay away from this company unless you enjoy Hot Yoga and want to turn your house into a studio at 99 degrees. read more

I had them replace a simple temperature probe in my pool heater. The part was under warranty but the labor was not. The installation was 45 minutes or so. The labor charge was $689 with a $29 service call charge!!!!! Outrageous charges but I was in a terrible bind with grandkids coming who wanted to use the pool with warm water and I was not sure if any other company would have the part. Be very wary when using these people for out of warranty repairs of any kind. Get a second price. read more

Sent out request here on Yelp to install a pedestal sink, Advanced Air and Heat responded relatively quick. Price estimate range was fair, so I booked an appointment. A few days later, Kurt the plumber showed up. He was professional and courteous and did an excellent job installing the sink. I used these guys to install a brand new AC unit several years ago. I called them for a repair estimate because it stopped working. I was given a cost and told it is not under warranty and the parts were on backorder and it would be several weeks minimum before they could get the parts so they suggested I have another one of there estimators come out to price out a new AC system. They had someone right over and priced it out and said they could install it the next day. I went ahead and called a supplier myself and discovered not only was the part in stock but that my unit was still under warranty. Called the scheduler to have a tech come out and look at our Generac 45KW generator (Liquid cooled 4.2l V-6) I was very careful to make sure she understood this unit requires a "Liquid-cooled certified" tech and that 2 years ago they sent someone who wasn't qualified wasting a lot of time for both parties. Called back 2 days before and she became angry stating "All of our tech are certified in everything". Well, as of yesterday at 3:00 PM that statement isn't true. Tech comes out, sees the box and says I'm not allowed to touch it, it's liquid cooled. Long story short: even repeatedly asking the wrong info was provided to myself and the tech. WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH!!!! Run, do not walk, away from hiring this company to do anything. We made the mistake of hiring them to install a PTAC unit. For $1800 they came out and installed a unit that never worked. For over a year we tried to get them to come out and fix it. They came out once and replaced a fan motor with another faulty motor, then would not come back out until the warranty expired so we would have to pay the labor charge for them to finally fix it. Then, they said it was a faulty bearing and they could not get the part. I looked on EBAY and they had several available as did many other vendors, so there's another lie. They hang up on you when you call with a problem and I was told there is no supervisor to speak with, but they would forward my problem to their "reconciliation department" Really? A small company that has a whole department just for complaints???? My attorney sent them a certified letter asking them to repair it, replace it or refund our money or we would sue in small claims court. It was returned un-opened. What a bunch of Cowards. So many lies and so much deception, I have never experienced anything like it. Finally, after 14 months of getting nowhere, I called Suncoast PTAC, they came out the next day and fixed the unit. Advanced Air never registered the unit for the warranty coverage (big surprise there), so Suncoast PTAC registered it immediately and all the parts were covered. The technician said he had never seen such poor installation all around and that both the fan motor and fan blower were bent and looked used and that there was nothing wrong with the bearing. One of the neighbors had the same problem with Advanced Air, her $7000 unit broke and they would not come out to fix it, she too, had to hire another company. Another neighbor said their daughter called to have her unit fixed and they wanted to charge her $400 for a $12 part plus labor. She put her dad on the phone to talk to the technician and he said he would be there in ten minutes to meet with the technician and the guy hung up and took off before her dad got there, knowing he was ripping them off. We purchase a new HVAC system from Advanced Air in 2016. We extended the factory warranty out to 12 years. We had them service the system twice per year for the last 8 years and this May the system went down. The system had lost its charge and the Tech supposedly leak checked and recharged the system and charged me nearly $1,000 and signed me up for their preferred customer plan. After two days it was not cooling again. At this point I request they send someone out and reminded them that our warranty was still in affect. They attempted to sell me a new system for $10,000 and said they had no records of the warranty, I offered to send the contract and paid invoice to them. At this point they would not call me back. I was forced to call the manufacturer and request another dealer (Accu-Temp) that would honor the warranty. They replaced the Coil which was leaking and it was covered by the warranty. I have been a preferred customer at Advanced Air and Heat for a few years. Recently I called them to do a plumbing job. My garbage disposal broke on May 11 th and they sent someone out to get the info on the disposal. They quoted me 424.96 including service. When the plumber arrived and said I did not need a new disposal. He fixed my disposal and said I owed him $49 for service call, which I paid, and that I would be refunded my $424.96 since I did not need the new disposal or service. After 5 calls requesting my refund for the $424.96 no refund was ever given. I requested a call back and no one called me back. I would think twice about doing business with them. As a preferred customer I didn't get a call or my money. I called my credit card company and disputed the charge. Apparently they had no intention of giving me money back, and they kept the garbage disposal too. read more

Poor yelp communication. First yelp responder scheduled me for a free estimate, then another called me the day of the appointment saying a 65$ fee was required, then they rescinded that after I called to check. The inspector was decent but struggled a tad bit, then I got a single number quote by phone that night from someone else in a slightly unprofessional way. I ask for an itemized written quote and am told I'll get it in the next day. After nothing the next day, I check in and I hear they were having "IT issues" and thus couldn't send an email, but that I would get my itemized estimate in the morning (Fri). Nothing. I check in on Monday and on yelp I hear someone will look into it and get that to me. Days later, nothing. Also, one person was rude over the phone with a very, very poor attitude. Called this company due to a leaking water heater. They charged me 49 dollars for a guy to take a 5 second look and go you need a water heater. For 2334 we can do it tomorrow. Made a call to another company they can install a unit for 1250 compared to 1800 on monday. I can understand a weekend and paying more but to me thats ridiculous. read more

On 6/24/24 I had a simple plumbing job done by this company. The Moen valve cartridge in my shower broke and needed to be replaced. I have video doorbell, so I know exactly when the tech arrived and when he left. He showed up at 1:01 PM, looked at my shower and said that he needed to get the part. He said that the part cost $76. He left at 1:05 PM. He then returned at 1:38 PM and left at 14:16 PM. He spent total 38 minutes in my house working, getting paperwork ready and collecting the payment. He also told me that he "waved the service fee". To summarize: 30 minutes of actual work replacing $76 part. After he left, I come to find out that my credit card was charged $709.55 (invoice # 71795454). I was sure that this was a mistake. I called three times before the "office manager" called me back. She checked something and said that that the invoice was correct!!!! I could not believe it. I checked with other plumbing companies just to compare. The usual charge per hour of labor is about $170. So the fair price for this job would be about $160 ($85 for 30 min of labor plus $76 for the part). They unashamedly stole over $500! And I've been their customer for years. My AC was replaced in 2019 by Service Gurus, which was bought by Advanced Air; they replaced my water heater 2 years ago, and did multiple AC service appointments. I even bought their "comfort club" membership. So that's how they treat their loyal long-term customers! Beware. This company does price gouging. If you want to be gouged, please use them. Also, keep in mind that the old 5 star Google reviews do not belong to them. They belong to Service Gurus, which Advanced Air bought. Service Gurus were an awesome company. YELP reviews reflect their true nature. You will find many customers who had exactly the same experience. Finally, their invoice does not itemize price of parts or labor. It gives you entire amount. So you have no idea how much was the part or labor. Bottom line: this company is very dishonest. They do not advocate for their customers. They only want to get as much money out of you as possible. KEEP AWAY from them! There are plenty of great locally owned companies that will provide you with honest service. read more

Company sold me a Frigidaire AC four years ago that had been discontinued due to warranty issues. . On at least four separate occasions a service person had to replace a defective evaporator coil which has Class Action suit pending. Further more, at the time Frigidaire, had advise against this unit installed in parts of the country with high humidity. The sales person should have been aware of this prior to advising me as prior to its purchase. Though I would commend Advance Air and Heat regarding promptness of service, it was not with out cost. Example... $200.00 for a ten minute leak test even though I showed the service tech. the reason for the leak. read more

This company is ABSOLUTELY terrible and has an argumentative account representative. I had a gas dryer installed and delivered by Lowes. After they installed it I noticed a gas smell coming from the unit. I called Lowes again and had them send out an installer to double check and they said it was fine. Still the has smell persisted. This time I went on google to find an independent gas installer to triple check the install. I called This company based on the 5 star reviews. I told them the problem and they sent out a technician. He look at it and said it was fine. Said that smell was from residual gas and after a week or two it'll go away. Three weeks later and it still was smelling like gas but worse. I then called my natural gas provider and told them the problem. They had a tech out in 10 minutes and he had a meter. Said the installation hose was not tightened correctly and that's what was causing the issue. He tightened it and the smell went away instantly. I called Advanced home services to inform them that the tech falsely led me to believe the problem was fixed and something worse could have happened bc of that. I called to simply ask for the refund of 95.00 and the rep, Tasha or something, was terrible and was yelling at me. Saying that she wouldnt refund the fee and that I called them and they are not a gas installer. I said why did you tell me that over the phone she said it's not our problem. I just hung up. Ive learned in life it's easier to not argue with a fool as it gets you upset. My warning to you is dont bother with this incompetent company. I gave them the chance to fix the issue before posting a negative review and they failed miserably. I had work done on my AC unit March 8th. The tech stated he made multiple repairs and bypassed my dryer. Needless to say it started leaking again, which it's old I understand. So I contacted the company numerous times asking for detailed work order of repairs done. They said they were unable to provide this to me. I had another company come out and the dryer they stated the removed had not been removed or bypassed. I was also told the R22 refrigerant needed was very hard to come by, I got charge 1500$ for 9lbs. The other company got it directly from United for 150$!!!? Yes, you have to be certified to purchase it, but wow price gouging. I'm really just disgusted with not only the price I paid, but also the poor customer service. Showed up in a timely manner gave me an estimate, got on their schedule for a couple days later as they knew I had a time crunch. The day of the job showed up with 3 trucks and 4 guys ready to get it done. Repiped my whole house in just a few hours. Was very respectful of my house and made the least amount of mess as possible. The job came in less than the estimate and I could not have been happier!!!!! They did an Awesome Job!! I highly recommend Advanced Heating and Plumbing for all your household needs. they have become the worst since being bought out. they tell you your warranty includes parts bit not labor yet they charge you 5-10x labor costs of comparable companies to more then cover the "free" part. for example I had them price labor to replace compressor and they were $3380 when others were $400. to replace coil they said $3400 when was just $500 through a competitor. they gouge people, specially older people as Ive met several swindled customers. very sad and should lose their license for predatory business practices and inflated pricing. stay away from them if you know what's good for you read more

Went outside and told me unit wasn't working and it was either a $860 sensor board & if that didn't work we needed an entire new unit.
