I came here for my first surgery with Dr. Lerner who is HSHS board certified and hand specialist…read moresurgeon. Everything went great. I had plenty of supportive nursing staff and anesthesia staff. Everybody was kind and accommodating. The check-in status was smooth. The guy that checked me in was very friendly and funny for outpatient services. You park in the main entrance area unless you have somebody driving you and you'll check in at the gray outpatient building parking. There was plenty as we were there at 5:30 AM. My surgery started at eight so bear in mind as far as surgery times we're also known as arrival times that will depend on parking as well as any additional waiting time for the check-in process.

My loved one recently spent 2 weeks on the med - surgical floor after hip surgery. The nurses were…read moreterrible. They told us excuses as to why they wouldn't provide care. An example of this, was their failure to give breathing treatments due to patient not being able to hold the nebulizer to his mouth. We had to tell them that they make masks for that, then he got the treatment for this hospital acquired pneumonia. They also would not turn him. By the time he was discharaged, he had 7 decubitus/open sores on his buttock, and one was necrotic. Our family was not informed of all these open sores. No physical therapy either, they said they didn't have the staff for that care. We won't ever take any of our family there again.

I am really not one to leave a bad review in situations like this, and I really hesitated to do…read morethis one, but I am very disgusted with the staff member from this office, a lady who called me the other day to collect a whole $75 from 7 years ago, yes SEVEN years...telling me it had to be paid before she would schedule my biopsy that my general doctor referred me to this office for. I don't even recall an outstanding bill and I was more than obliging and understanding while talking to this lady, even tho she was very condescending to begin with. Since this bill was sent to collections 7 years ago, it's illegal to even collect since it was sold to the agency, and would have been written off a long time ago, so why not just exercise the right to refuse treatment to me or require me to pay up front or something? I am not sure what kind of Mickey Mouse billing practices are going on at this office. I was actually more than willing to pay it while on the line when she asked me to. I work for the insurance company, I have an FSA, I pay my bills....but this pushy lady just kept on with the smarta$$ remarks, I didn't appreciate it, and was certainly not comfortable leaving my medical issues in the hands of such a seemingly disgruntled, absolutely unprofessional person who is most likely, unfortunately the first person people encounter, and I finally told her that I will just find another doctor. I really hope these calls are recorded and that someone can address this unhappy dried up worker before she drives more people away. I have told my doctor but not much more I can do.

Dr. Mitch Needleman is very approachable, and listens well. His diagnosis is right on - he treats…read moreyou himself. He does not give you the Run-around, sending you off to another Doctor, when he has mastery of that domain. This saves you a lot of time. He keeps up his lifelong Learning, to stay abreast of best methods and practices for Foot ailments. His prices are very reasonable, he sticks to the contracted rates he agreed to with the Insurance companies. He follows the guidelines for an In-Network Provider. He's customer focused, a rare quality in this period of high medical costs. My wife also went to see him, he did a great job to provide relief for ankle strain. Donald St Louis

Several years ago I visited Needleman's Swansea, IL office due to joint pain in my toe. He sent me…read morein for an MRI..keep in mind, this is for my toe. The staff at the MRI office even commented that they have never had a patient have an MRI on their toe. Either way, I was there. Went to Needleman's office for a followup. He said the MRI didn't show him anything but he wanted to do surgery nonetheless. I have no idea what I was thinking but gave the approval because I was in pain and needed help. Needleman had me come to his office for the surgery. I have to say, when they had me change into a gown and the nurse was in scrubs, I got a little worried. I thought this was just minor surgery on my toe. Needleman came in and looked like he was read to perform open-heart surgery on me. He even had his bare hands in the air so the nurse (assistant) could glove him. Again, not doing a whole lot for my anxiety. Well, thanks to that surgery, which didn't solve anything, I now have a torn tendon. I went to an orthopedic surgeon who determined that the tendon was partially severed during a previous surgery. Ahhh, thanks, Mr. Needleman. In case you are wondering, the absence of the title, "Dr." is intentional. This guy is anything but.
