It turned out that the first technicians who came for the HVAC maintenance didn't plug in the pump, which left a lot of water in the garage. Also, they didn't set the upstairs and downstairs thermostats back to their original temperatures. We suddenly realized it was freezing cold at 55° !! We had to get another tech to look at the water that came out of the pump. This tech noticed the pump wasn't plugged in and we hoped that was the cause of the excess of water. Unfortunately the pump was not working well and luckily he had one in his truck, which he installed right away. It's fine now. My experiences with this company have been hit and miss through the years. They have replaced the wax ring on two of my toilets. Those both went smoothly. I had many service calls via my home warranty company for repairs to my old heat pump system. For the most part, those went fine as well. When my heat pump finally died, I went through my home warranty company to get a new one. Advanced was contracted to do the work. They came to look at my system and measure everything to make sure they got the right size air handler for the little niche mine sat in, and all that. As we were walking around my house looking at the vents and air returns, I was informed that I did not have enough air returns, and they would need to cut some more holes in my walls to run more duct work. They also said that because my air handler was in my garage, it was required that I have a protective post installed. These all added to the total cost of the new system. They came to do the work, and I paid the bill. I did not get more air returns and I did not get a protective post installed. I should have said something right then, but I had a lot going on in my life and didn't want to have to fight for my money back. I really should have. They also replaced my really nice thermostat with an industrial model. They didn't even set it up right, because it was in contractor mode, and I was unable to set it. I had to have a guy come back out to get it working right. They took my thermostat with them, they didn't even leave it for me. read more

I had a Samsung ice maker that wasn't making ice. Technicians came out within a couple of days of my service request which was great. they quickly removed the complete ice maker after melting the " frozen water" backup...cleaned and reinstalled and reset it. within an hour or so I heard ice dropping into the bucket! personable, neatly cleaned up after themselves ... would recommend for sure. read more

I will NEVER work with this company EVER again. Not only are their "licensed" techs incompetent, but each of the 5-7 times that they claimed to fix my HVAC unit, I had to pay another $100-133 in a service fee for them to come out and "fix" my unit. This last time in April of this year, they came out and "discovered" that my ENTIRE electrical panel needed to be replaced along with replacing my HVAC compressor. Advanced even attempted to charge me over $4k for this cost. So I decided to have a second opinion Two LICENSED electricians, one sent as a second opinion by my home warranty, came to look at the SAME SYSTEM and determined that there was NOTHING wrong with my electrical panel that AT MOST, I might need to change or upgrade a breaker - ONCE the HVAC compressor was fixed. This company refused to fix the HVAC until the panel was replaced citing they took the word of their technicians over another licensed technician (when I spoke to Taylor, the scheduler, the biased and discriminatory tone in which she said, "we only take the word of "licensed" electricians" still resonates with me). This company apparently held the work order until last week, did not call me to notify me, and "closed" out the work request with the home warranty company a week ago. So now it's almost Memorial Day weekend. I suffer from high-risk asthma and am prone to and the temps are rising. It's more than likely going to be another 2-3 weeks BEFORE my unit gets fixed (considering the time for another service provider to come out, assess, order parts, and fix) which will put me well into June when outside temps will rise to mid 80s and low 90s. Meaning my house is going to get above 80 degree. read more

My home warranty company arranged for Advanced Appliance Service to come to my home to repair an outside leak between my mentor and the pipe that runs to my home. On the day of my scheduled appointment, the technician called me to confirm that he was coming. When the two technicians arrived, they were friendly and we had a pleasant conversation. I felt comfortable having them in my home. The technicians did not do any work this day, but they did a quick assessment and we talked about things such as what they believed would be a repair plan. As we talked, the technicians were very honest about short staffing, and a shortage of supplies/longer order time. This was totally understandable, given the current conditions we are all navigating. I was told that the technicians would need to get approval from their boss before working on the repair. One of the technicians told me he would call me the day after with an update. I did not receive that call, so I called my home warranty company, and they didn't have much to say. Since my communication had been with my warranty company, I thought it would be best to keep it that way so we didn't get into a loop of miscommunication. We are a week and two days out from the visit, and I have yet to hear anything. Fortunately, we found a different company to come to repair the leak. Again, the technicians that were sent out were very friendly, and I was looking forward to working with them. However, I'm disappointed with the lack of communication. I know things are difficult regarding labor and supplies - and would have been completely fine with a phone call to update me on what the next steps were. read more

our service experiance was not good at all. we were told after 10 minutes that it was a stuck button and it was resolved and after 1 load of laundry the issue was back. when i called to have the person come back, i was told it was closed and id have to call and request service again. when i did, i was given a return date of may 5, when i asked if they could come sooner, i was placed on a 10 minute hold which ended with the call being ended on their end with no follow up call. this is the 2nd time we have dealt with this repair service and will not use them again. read more

I was very satisfied with the support I received! The repair was very quick and most importantly, I learned I could not fix the issue myself. When issues are fixed quickly, I wonder if it is something simple that I could address myself. If I could give this company a negative 5-star rating I would. We had a technician come to our home to repair the AC portion of our heat pump. The technician looked at the portion of the unit that is outside and determined the capacitor needed to be replaced. He did not have the properly sized one on his truck, so he rigged two separate capacitors together and said we should be fine. He never went into the house to inspect the rest of the system. An hour later, the air went out again. The very next day, I called the office and told them the unit stopped working and asked them to send someone back out. They couldn't possibly send anyone because "we can't move anyone off the schedule to fit you in." I asked to speak to a supervisor to further explain the situation. I was put on hold and the girl quickly came back and said no one was available. Yeah right. I could get an appointment two days later though! Based on that conversation, and the fact this was now 4 days without air, I called another company. A couple of days later, the other company's technician was at my home when my husband received a call from Advanced to see if they could come and look at the unit. He told them to cancel the call. The new company's technician pulled the cover off the outside unit, looked things over, and told us the capacitors replaced by Advanced were improperly wired. Really?!! I called Advanced the first thing the following morning and told them about the findings of the new company's technician. I was finally able to talk to someone in management and I indicated, considering the circumstances, I should receive a refund. I went back and forth with them, gave them all the information the new tech provided (which was extensive), received all the standard BS and was eventually told (after having to follow-up with them), nothing would be done. The best thing about this is they "made our best effort to try to make things right." Their "best effort" was to: 1. not communicate anything other than I could get an appointment for someone to come out again in two days 2. not follow up to let us know they were even thinking of sending someone out 3. call us the day the other company's technician was there to see if someone could come and look at the AC 4. tell me they called me and left a message regarding their decision. I looked at my call history and yes, they called. There was no message 5. state my request for a refund was declined 6. charge me $400 for nothing So, I'm letting you know how this company treats its customers. This company came to my house twice to service a dishwasher that was brand new. The first time the service manager was the one who came out and he told me there was nothing wrong with the dishwasher. It was giving me an E30 code, which indicates a leak. I then had another company come out, Richard's Appiance Repair and the female technician, Taylor, had the problem diagnosed within 3 minutes. There was a hole in the side of the dishwasher which was causing the dishwasher to sense that there was a leak and turn the water off. The staff there, particularly Stacy, is extremely unpleasant and rude. Yes, I also had asked for the service manager to call me back so I could talk to him and try to understand how they overlooked seeing a hole in the side of the unit, but I never got a return call from the service manager. Evidently, he does not care about his customers or trying to make their business better by trying to understand what happened. I would not recommend this company to even my worst enemy. They are clueless on how to run a business and service customers. read more

This is the company that my home warranty sent out to fix my heating issue in November 2021 which was initially only me smelling a burning odor whenever my heat came on but they ended up coming out about 5 times before deciding that I needed a new furnace. Anyone who is deemed the subject matter expert should not need that many times to fix a problem unless they are intentionally trying to get money out of the customers, which I believe was the case. They came out and "fixed" the problem. Maybe a week or so passed by and I noticed the odor was STILL there so I contacted my home warranty 2-10 again and they sent them back out this time it was that I needed a fan motor...why wasn't that the case the first time if you're coming out for the same issue? No clue. Each time they came out there was a "different" issue that the claimed they were fixing but every time they worked on it there was a new problem I hadn't had previously. I requested a different service tech after the 4th time but I should've requested an entirely different company through my home warranty. The next one came out and informed me of a different motor that I needed and once the part was in they would come install it. Advance Appliances called stating they couldn't find the part for my system and that the home warranty would need to find it. Home warranty found it but when advanced appliance came to install it the part was the wrong part for my system therefore could not be found and now I need a new system. The strangest thing also happened the last time they came out, I had to leave work to come home and meet them there. Once the guy was finished and I had left he contacted me stating he had left some tools in my crawl space if I mind him going back to get them....I wasn't home he knew that but I watched on my security camera this man was there for about 20 minutes. I don't believe it takes that long to get any tool you may have left. They screwed with my system little by little making me use the allotted funds my home warranty provides to cover the system then tell me I need a new system and the funds that could've been used for a new system from the beginning are now exhausted because of all the parts and labor of them coming out so many times. I had to go to my crawl space to turn on the switch for my ice machine and found that they had taken my unit apart and not put it back together when they left. It was a mess, I wish I had before and after photos of my crawl space prior to any work being done but I only have the photo of the mess they left. Wasted an entire day waiting on them and it wasn't until I called them (after several attempts) that they informed me they weren't able to come to my home so I had to reschedule. Upon rescheduling I requested to be among the first appointments due to my schedule. I tried calling on the day of my reschedule to no avail. I was so fed up that I called warranty company requesting alternative service options. They even attempted to contact the service company and couldn't get through. At that point, I was requesting my refund and...funny....service company calls to say they're en route. When they showed up, the guy was at my house under 5 minutes. He looked at it, said he will put in a request for parts (never attempted to turn machine on or anything!). I asked how long THAT would take and he said "I don't know" I added I wanted it replaced and not repaired due to its wear and tear and age. He then instructed me to call American Home Shield . Beware: This was the service company assigned to us through American Home Shield. They came out to evaluate our problem & misdiagnosed our issue. After spending $11K with them on two new HVAC units, the problem persists. They have been to our home nearly a dozen times over the past year. I received a voicemail from them on Friday afternoon admitting they had botched the diagnosis & that it's actually a ductwork problem...something they "simply aren't set up to handle". So, we were essentially fleeced of $11K and still sleeping in an 80 degree bedroom. I would avoid this company unless you simply have time and money to burn. read more

I recently purchased a home, and found a leak coming through my ceiling after running the shower/tub. After waiting a week for this company to come out, two employees ran the shower and tub. After seeing no leak after 10-15 minutes, they left. No more than 10 minutes later, I noticed my ceiling leaking. My husband called the company to let them know the ceiling was in fact leaking from the same location I showed them pictures of, and he was told the soonest that someone could come out again would be 5 days despite the ongoing leak. The manager told my husband that "the project was completed" and "that it is the best they can do." I had a dishwasher that was 3 years old and it would not empty the water from the bottom. The technician came out and worked for about an hour and determined it would need a new control board. They ordered that and it took 2 weeks for it to come in. It took less than 30 minutes to put in. I was concerned about it not being able to dry the dishes as the element was under water all this time. He said not. I've run the dishwasher and the dishes don't dry still. I don't want to rangle around to get another appointment so I guess Ill just towel dry my dishes. read more

I could not recommend a vendor LESS than Advanced. Advanced has been sent out twice to my home for warranty work twice and both times it has been terrible. The first time was for an HVAC replacement. I had requested that they do some additional work that I would pay for outside of the work that was covered under warranty. Not only was this not done but of the work that was done I could not even get simple information like warranty information, operating and service manual. The installation technician had none of these and suggested I call the office. When I did call them I was told they would mail it out, which never happened. This last call was for low hot water pressure. When the technician arrived he never attached any water pressure gauges to the hose to test the pressure, he merely turned on the faucets and said "everything looks good" This despite me having told him I place a gauge on the water line and it came back 20 psi lower than what it should be. He then mentioned it could be an issue with the shower cartridge and would get authorization to replace it from American Home Shield. What I found out later was he had closed the ticket as no issue found. After getting another service to come out and look at the issue the plumber found that there was a blockage in the hot water tank reducing the water flow. Save your money and time call any other area Triad plumbing, HVAC or appliance repair companies. read more
