A woman, who I believe is the parts counter customer service representative (the only woman employed there, I believe), told my son they would pay us $250 per vehicle for a total of $500. Later, my son called again to arrange for Erickson to pick up the cars, and the man who answered the phone told him that they would only pay $225 per vehicle. When my son told the man that the earlier quote was $250 per car, he repeated that they would only pay $225 per car. We decided to call other salvage yards, and got a number of other quotes. My son called Erickson one more time to see if he could talk to the woman who quoted $250 per car, which was one of the higher quotes. The parts counter woman answered the phone and instead of honoring her previous quote she gave a third quote -- this time $225 for one vehicle and $200 for the second. I got on the phone and asked why they gave three different quotes within a few hours for the same service removing the same vehicles. The woman told me the price of scrap metal had dropped during the day (January 19, 2015). However, I am quite sure scrap metal prices do not change twice in one day, and I'm fairly confident that scrap metal prices didn't change at all the day we called, since it was Martin Luther King Day. I asked for the business owner's phone number, and the parts counter woman told me she would not give me the number. I asked for the number again, and she refused again to give me the phone number. I told her I would file a BBB complaint, and she told me to go ahead and then slammed the phone down. I filed the complaint, and posted here as well. Get a written quote, and then cross your fingers, too.

This store and its staff went above and beyond the repair call of duty. My daughters car had a…read morespline groove belt idler pulley destroy itself on a 1.5 hour drive to a family gathering in Roscoe. She popped the hood and found pieces of it in the engine compartment. Told me, her father, at 5:00pm on a Saturday what she heard and found. Together ! After yelping auto parts, called this store and spoke with Joseph, he put me on hold to see if he could find someone to do the repair.. said yes, and he had the part. When we got to AutoZone the repair guy said he was too busy. As we were getting the part, the store manager said it was on his way home and would do it for free. So there we were Jimmy and I working away, when a sudden rain storm comes flooding down on us, but we were finally successful in getting the stubborn idler replaced. BTW, Volkswagen didn't make the task very easy in the two hours it took. Yes in my shop or a service store it would have taken less time. We had neither. I could not have received better treatment, or caring by the staff and the manager as they went way above the call of duty, working on the car on the side of a residential neighborhood in the rain. My daughter, wife and I cannot thank them enough for helping us get her car back together last evening. If I went back in a time to an 80's mid-A minor league baseball game, it suspect it would look like…read morethis. We arrived an hour early and could have walked into the park without notice. Both the left field and home plate gates were wide open without a person in sight. We paid for tickets. The field itself sits in a neighborhood. Kinda cool, kinda odd too. I felt like I was at a glorified high school game. The park itself has some construction going on in back of the left field seats. I'm guessing that might house player functions, like the home team hitting cage, which is currently held in a netted enclosure under left field (high school style). The small players clubhouse sits on the fan concourse so players and coaching staff alike walk through the concourse to get to the dugout & field. Another unusual site. The field here seems huge but that might be due to the small size of the seating area. They offer three different seating options..two of which have you parked on a bleacher seat (one with back rest, one without). The high rollers pay to sit in a half plastic seat that's screwed to the bleacher seat. Pretty odd..you have to see it for yourself. We ate prior to the game so we only noshed on a pretzel once we arrived. The food options seemed limited. On field amenities are vintage 1955. No big screen, no video whatsoever. Just one, small center field score board. The outfield walls are littered with advertisements. I'm surprised they have lights. Aside from watching baseball, which is exactly why we came here, there isn't one redeeming feature inside or outside this park. We enjoyed the baseball but the park is devoid of culture and modernization.

Our experience at the Beloit Snappers game featured all of the things that make minor-league…read morebaseball great. We were close to the action (second row!), surrounded by families, old people and amiably rivalrous partisans of both teams. There were contests, catcalls. This is baseball the way it should be (except that the players should be payed MORE). The quality of play (the Snappers are the A ball affiliate of the Oakland A's major league club) was good. Concessions were OK (pizza, hot dogs, popcorn, peanuts, LOTS of beers). There is a ramp for people who need it. There are three kinds of seats: bleachers, amply-wide seats behind home and halfway up the first and third base lines (screened and protected from foul balls) and field-level seats for those who wants to get as close to the game as possible). If you are a fan of the minor-league game and in the area, you owe yourself a trip to this park springing out of an otherwise ordinary residential neighborhood.
