The installation process was long, disorganized, and full of unnecessary delays. The person who came out to measure forgot to template the riser for our basement bar, which immediately stalled the project. Later, (after one rescheduled install due to staffing issues), an installation crew refused to enter the house after being instructed to use the basement entrance in the back. They left without completing any work. That decision alone pushed our remodel back another two weeks and disrupted the schedules of our other contractors. When installers finally returned, it was around 5:00 p.m. just before the Fourth of July weekend. Instead of simply completing the job, they immediately started making excuses about why they couldn't install the riser and suggested another reschedule. Fortunately, my painter was there and called them out, making it clear there was no reason the work couldn't be completed. They ended up installing it, allowing the rest of the project to finally move forward. If you're coordinating a remodel with multiple contractors and working on a timeline, I would not recommend Hard Rock Stone Works. The lack of communication, poor project management, and repeated delays turned what should have been a straightforward installation into a frustrating experience.

I loved the look but not the price. I was driving by and found this shop. I went inside and met Brandon he showed me their granite selection, they had fewer choices but they had a sample that looked almost identical to the one we wanted. Brandon said I would be happily surprised by their quote. I sent them our dimensions and boy was he right. They offered a much more affordable price. Needless to say we placed our order, the gentleman came out and measured the space. Within days they were giving us an installation date. Ryan and Austin called and were here within half an hour. They brought in the granite, drilled a couple holes for faucet and garbage disposal button and installed each countertop. We needed a couple pieces throughout our kitchen, they did a great job making sure the process went smoothly and without making a mess. They made everything was cleaned and installed properly. We are thrilled and will highly recommend this company to anyone looking for tile, granite or other stone work.

It had the original cabinets from the 1970s. The shelves weren't even, and there was barely any counter space to work with. We knew we wanted to replace all the cabinets, get quartz counterop, and upgrade the layout to be more functional. We called another competitor first, and they quoted us that the bare minimum of what we were asking for would be over $45,000, which was more than twice our budget. When we met Bill, he wasn't pushy or salesy. We told him our budget and what we were looking for, and he was able to meet every expectation. It took about 8 weeks for our cabinets to come in/be made. Immediately after that, Joe and the crew came and completed our kitchen renovation within 2 weeks. My partner and I work from home, and the renovation did not disturb our workflow at all. We'll definitely be working with them again in the future when we update our bathrooms!

I wanted a granite countertop for my main floor bathroom vanity. We looked around from this place…read moreall the way down to the multitude of granite shops south east of Lake Orion in Shelby/Sterling Heights. We didn't want anything fancy so we found a classic looking Gaillo Ornamental. All the shops must order from the same place because they all have this style. Long story short, MCG had the best price for what I wanted. The ordering process was pretty simple and I was able to come to an agreement on the details and price over the phone which was nice instead of having to come in again to the store. Frank came out within 3 business days to do the measurements (I did call on Friday early afternoon). The installation was scheduled for a week later but luckily there was an opening a few days before. We scheduled for Thursday from 1-3pm. I asked for a 30min lead time so I could leave work and meet them at the house. 1pm went by, 2pm, I called Frank at 3pm and he said that they got held up on another job and would definitely finish that day. I went home early from work to meet them. They didn't show up to my house until 4:30pm. Frank did text me 15 min before they arrived, but I really could have used more advanced notice and a more reliable time (I'm sure most people don't have as flexible of work schedules). The installers were very nice and made sure to let me know everything that they were doing. Really nice guys. They finished in about an hour. After they left I noticed that they didn't clear caulk an area where the counter met the backsplash and there was caulk residue on the countertop that I had to razor blade off. Both I fixed without effort, but I felt there could have been more attention to detail. The holes for the cold side valve were also off center from the other two holes. There was enough play in the valves that I could make it work and the beauty ring would cover it, but again I wanted more attention to detail especially since it was such a small piece. The finished product had great fit/finish once everything was done. Overall, it was a good experience and I would buy from them again. If the installers just took a little more attention to the small details it would be a perfect experience. It really does look great. I would order from them again and just check out the work before they leave. Update: The owner called me when I mentioned the issues and he had someone out the next day to fix the small issues. Great service. I still would give them 4 stars because it could have been done the first time, but I wouldn't hesitate to use them again or recommend them to another person.

Bought second floor carpeting after living with Karastan for over 30 years with no problems, just…read moreneeded a change in color. The nightmare begins, during COVID time frame carpet laid turned out to be from different color lots, manufacturers agreed to replacement. The second carpet was laid with a "shear" defect, that is a grove cit into the middle of carpet that looks like a one inch racing stripe. I asked how can this happen, didn't anybody at Reimer look at the carpet rolls prior to installation ? I guess not. Reimer offered a "settlement" which I foolishly accepted because being near 70 years old, I couldn't move all the furniture on the second floor for the third time. The problems soon started with the second carpet, ripples started to appear. it seems going forward , Riemer was going to charge to come out and look at ($75) the ripples and than charge for the repair. They have been out at least three times for ripples and over $500 dollars to take care of this issue. It seems to be a great profit stream because it was poor installation from I read on Google. just to add to this, areas that they had to de ripple, seem to be holding. but now the ripples are going to new areas . I feel like ripping out the mess and starting over with another merchant, I can't believe it's worth the money to have a endless cycle of restretching. Truely don't know what to do.

Experience thus far... 1) Purchased expensive wool carpet…read more(we were told it was carpet). 2) Manufacturing process took a long time but we were patient. We were told our carpet installation was "tricky," and required an experienced installer. This should have set off alarm bells as you will see below). 3) Carpet installation was scheduled approximately 3 months after order. 4) Install date arrives. We had moved everything in preparation. 5) Carpet and carpet pad are delivered. 6) Install team arrives. Lead installer has more than 35 years of experience. Seemed like a very credible guy. Other guys indicate that he is the top installer for Riemer. 7) After about an hour of analysis, lead installer tells us that the carpet cannot be installed. The carpet was designed only to be a rug and that the multiple seams we needed would look terrible. He demonstrated this by trying to cut the carpet/rug in front of us. 8) We ask what are our alternatives? Answer - carpet has to be returned and we need to start from the beginning in choosing a new carpet. 9) Lead installer said same thing happened a month ago and the customer had to choose different carpet. 10) Carpet and pad are returned to Riemer. 11) We started a new online search for carpet. After about 10 days, we had narrowed the search to two options. 12) Salesperson finally gets back to us after about 10 days. She indicates that they "found" an installer who will install the carpet without a problem. 13) Salesperson indicates this has never happened before, despite the fact that the installer with 35 years of experience said the same thing happened a month ago. Who is lying? Our experience is that it is typically the person who has a motive to lie. 14) Salesperson indicates that manufacturer will not take carpet back. Obviously therein lies the motive. Riemer is in a bind. Salesperson says we have no choice but to take the carpet with the new "special" installer. 15) We feel like this is a shakedown. What should we do?
