The best, I highly recommend. My cat is 16 and still going, so she's a bit high maintenance in the medical attention area. We transferred over to ACVH about a year ago and I couldn't be happier. I've never had doubts about any transaction and they've always provided the best care. Her monthly prescription is the most affordable anyone has offered, and the results are actually working. Also, there's a lot you can tell about a place from your pet's body language. She seems more comfortable and relaxed here so that tells me she trusts everyone. That's a big plus.

We were having a pet emergency and nobody could see us until next day or 3 weeks away. These guys squeezed us in for a same day appointment about 45 minutes after we called. The first thing that the dog did was stress-poop on the floor, but they were so understanding and accommodating about it, even though we felt terrible and offered to clean it up. They took him right back, and had checked out his ear, and within the hour, they were able to sedate him and perform the needed treatment to stop his ear from swelling and hurting him. They came out and explained in detail what the issue was, how it could be treated, and what the aftercare instructions were. They did not walk away until they were sure we understood how to take care of him. They sent home meds, had installed the bandage and his cone of shame and just made it really easy to take care of him. I'm very happy this place was here when my mom's beloved pet had an emergency.

I have been going to ACVH for a while now and my dogs LOVE them!! Their staff is wildly passionate about proper care and good medicine. They recently told me about their sister hospital's closure last year, and they have basically taken over for all of those clients too! They are very hardworking and accommodating, despite being heavily booked and in demand in this community. The main doctor (Dr. Rosales) is a Poway native, which is such a nice touch in our little town! The other doctor that we recently saw is SO nice and funny, and seems to really respect our time whenever we are there (Dr. Lopez). The front staff offers coffee, beverages and snacks every time, and their welcoming chalkboard of names makes me feel so valued. This feels like a vet clinic and staff right out of a Hallmark movie. I love their competitive pricing and thorough communication. We will travel to this vet even if we should ever move out of Poway!

Dobbin loved his new cone.... for 5 minutes.

Very easy to get appointments, a clean facility, good attentive doctors, and good customer service all around. The Advanced Care vet team is made up of wonderful people that love animals and you can just tell that they really do care, and the pets can feel that too. My dog LOVES going to the vet, because he just soaks up all the attention. The one thing I dislike is that sometimes it feels like there are unnecessary recommendations or products that cost a lot. My advice for other pet parents is that they shouldn't feel pressured to get all the recommended treatments. The Advanced Care team has ultimately always respected our decisions on whether or not to pursue various line items, and because of that they are a fair vet in my eyes.

Lina says thank you!

Called to all vets in my area and theyre booking 3 weeks out. Did a quick search of the ole web and found some in Poway. First 3 I called also could not see me. ACVH got me in not only same day but within the hour. Staff were nice and the vet did about the most thorough exam I have ever seen any vet do. I wish I hadnt already gotten a care club membership to my local vet as I get free exams but that doesnt help when your clumsy puppy runs into a doorway and needs to be seen asap. I have worked in the veterinary field as a tech and I know how to spot a good, attentive, skilled hospital. This one is amazing.

How much does a spay for a 1 year old Siberian Husky cost? She is about 40 lbs.

Hi Elaine! We would love to provide you with a treatment plan for a husky spay. It will be dependent on a few factors though, would you be able to give our front desk a quick call so they can work with you to put together that price range? Not a…

How much for boarding a mixed pit?

Usually it runs about $55/night and a little more for giving meds.

We drove there at 1am in the rain and had high hopes she would pull through, but the X-ray showed a terminal issue and the outcome was inevitable. We appreciate the compassion and professionalism of the staff, especially so late at night. Would highly recommend. My only complaints: 1) No airflow in the two rooms off to the side. Not so bad if you're only in there for 15 min but after an hour, you have to open the door just to breathe. 2) The TV in the lobby is too loud. The people working the counter can hear YOU through the glass partition, but are not aware that your ears are competing with the TV just to hear what they're saying back at you. Another customer came in just after us with a dog whose eye had popped out of the socket. :-( They also had difficulty hearing anything from the counter staff thanks to that TV. Maybe a nice, quiet video loop of relaxing/calming scenery, flowing water, etc.? I can't hear over David Attenborough's voice and that's saying a lot since he's a fairly soft-spoken guy.

When the staff spoke with us, his response was dismissive and showed no compassion. He even asked if bloody diarrhea was our only concern, despite us clearly explaining how serious her symptoms were. When I described Peanut's symptoms to the front desk staff, she immediately tried to assume it was a seizure, even though that was never part of her symptoms. After 45 minutes of waiting, the staff told us the doctor was ready and asked us to hand over Peanut. We were confused as to why we couldn't be present for the initial exam, but we complied. Another 30 minutes passed, and when we asked for an update, we were told the doctor was with another patient and Peanut was "next." Then Peanut vomited blood again, so she was taken back immediately and again we were told she was next. We waited another hour, and by this time it was 12:30 AM with still no care provided. At that point, we were frustrated and concerned for her safety, so we decided to leave and find another urgent care. We found WAG Animal ER, only 8 minutes away, with the same $100 exam fee and no wait. The difference was night and day. The staff there was kind, compassionate, and professional. Peanut was seen by a doctor within 5 minutes. And the Dr even called us 3 days later to check on her status.

I have been taking my pet feline, Apollo, for only about a month and unfortunately, my pet passed away due to Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP). Just in the span of a month I was able to receive aid, feedback, and support that I needed in order to take care of my pet. Dr. Cora Evans was amazing, kind, and professional during the entire process; the entire team at Poway Animal Hospital were extraordinary. They made it easy to handle invoices, communicate and update my pet's condition, schedule appointments, and so much more. The team showed that they cared deeply with not only my pet, but with every pet that I witnessed come into the vet. Dr. Evans and the team of Poway Animal Hospital were determined to find exactly what was wrong with my pet and to heal him back to full health as soon as possible. In the span of 2 weeks, they were able to test my pets urine, fecal, and blood. Unfortunately, Poway Animal Hospital does not offer ultrasound, but they immediately got in contact with Stitch Veterinary Urgent Care and Surgery to set-up an appointment as soon as possible based on my pets blood and urine results, which showed positive for Bilirubin and crystals. Ultimately, my pet was diagnosed with FIP following the ultrasound. If it wasn't for the quick and effective work that Poway Animal Hospital did, I would have never known what my pet had exactly and I wouldn't have been able to give him the best possible treatment and support that he needed. I highly recommend Poway Animal Hospital and I appreciate all that they did for my pet and continue to do for more pets to come.
