At first I had my doubts about acupuncture. Now I'm a believer in this method specifically for pain relief. A few months before my primary doctor ignored my questions about back pain and suggested I take over the counter pain medication. Later, my lower back pain spread down to the backside of my left leg. At that time, a pain specialist determined I suffered from severe sciatica pain and surgery was probably the only solution. My pain started in my lower back and radiated to my glutes, hamstrings and when standing it would shoot sharp pain to my calf. Dr. Elise Mankoska knew exactly how to relieve my pain. She was very knowledgeable about acupuncture, insightful about natural ways to heal my body, and reassuring throughout my whole process. Prior to getting acupuncture, I was basically immobile for a whole month without much movement. The only comfortable position was laying on my stomach. My first time coming to Dr. Mankoska, my pain level was a 8 out of 10. She made controlling my pain a priority and did everything she could to help me. She made me feel important and valued as a patient by listening and paying attention to my concerns. After 3 visits, I was almost 90% recovered. After a whole month of severe sciatic pain, I was finally starting to have some relief. I also tried chiropractic care prior to this with no change in my condition. A fantastic visit to an all encompassing chiropractor and acupuncturist who is interested in helping with whole body health rather than just alleviating symptoms. I appreciate that. Chiropractors have so many styles that it can be difficult to find one that really works well with you, but this doctor definitely did it for us. We recently moved to Yuma, so we're having to develop new relationships with everyone. After watching my treatment, my teenage son asked for an appointment and he's interested in trying her acupuncture as well as chiropractic treatment. The VA gave me a referral to get work done here. I would show up and wait 10-15 mins between all the different procedures. After working a 10 hour day to come and spend 45 minutes of my appointment sitting there, not worth it. Got a referral to Heuser Chrippractic office. So far a much better experience. read more

Yuma has too many options to waste your time and money at offices that are inconsiderate of your time and do not know how to properly manage their schedules. Went in as I was looking for both a chiropractor that did acupuncture. Dr Elise is wonderful!! She had an opening so I got right in. She was so thorough in her exam. I was having a lot of pain in my right shoulder and arm. She examined every inch then sat down and explained the areas that needed work. She spent a lot of time working on me and explaining what she was doing every step. She has other forms of treatment including the acupuncture. Her rates are very reasonable and she was very open that I might be sore the rest of day. She suggested a treatment regime and did not press to reschedule. I slept the best I had in weeks. She even called the next day to see how I was. She is excellent!!! I've had chiropractic/acupuncture together in the past so I am delighted to find someone here. She is new to Yuma but not to chiropractic/acupuncture. If you are looking give her a try. I will go back and highly recommend her. read more

Fantastic! 10 Stars! Visiting from Calif, I twisted by back and ended up with a herniated, painful disk. I was so afraid of going to a doctor or chiro due to my fear of being jerked around. Dr. Elise Mankosa was so incredibly gentle, professional and I received treatment that did not hurt me. I just wish I would have gone sooner, instead of suffering. No jerking around. With the drop method, acupuncture and electrodes, I left on my first visit with a 70% healing- and with a sense of well-being and happy mood! By my forth treatment, I am pain free! You must get your treatment with this well educated, gentle, professional and super friendly doctor- she knows what she's doing.
