At that time, a pain specialist determined I suffered from severe sciatica pain and surgery was probably the only solution. My pain started in my lower back and radiated to my glutes, hamstrings and when standing it would shoot sharp pain to my calf. Dr. Elise Mankoska knew exactly how to relieve my pain. She was very knowledgeable about acupuncture, insightful about natural ways to heal my body, and reassuring throughout my whole process. Prior to getting acupuncture, I was basically immobile for a whole month without much movement. The only comfortable position was laying on my stomach. My first time coming to Dr. Mankoska, my pain level was a 8 out of 10. She made controlling my pain a priority and did everything she could to help me. She made me feel important and valued as a patient by listening and paying attention to my concerns. After 3 visits, I was almost 90% recovered. After a whole month of severe sciatic pain, I was finally starting to have some relief. I also tried chiropractic care prior to this with no change in my condition. He continued to inform me that he took me off for several cancelled appointments, for being late to appointments and because I have not been there since 2006, he will not be seeing me today and for any future appointments and that I go and find other chiropractor care elsewhere. He turned around and just walked away and back into his office. How could I ever be late when I have not had services since 2006...? And, I had legitimate reason why I cancelled my appointment. The way he approached me and talked to me made me feel horrible, he was outright unprofessional, arrogant and immature to act that way. This is a true reflection of his character and abilities as a doctor. If he personally cancelled my appointment why did he wait until I took time off of work and wait in his office to come out and say this to me during the appointment time and not before. I was wondering why his office was empty with no patients there... now I know why, he is UNPROFESSIONAL.
