My wife and I took the Basic Pistol Class this past Saturday with Kevin and Lance. I would absolutely recommend this class. My wife came out of the class much more comfortable handling, loading, and shooting her pistol. The class helped me with my accuracy by giving me a few directions. Kevin and Lance gave a very good classroom portion shoeing the importance of gun safety and general knowledge. Then we all got to have hands on target shooting with one instructor per 2 "students" The price was very easily worth the day and the knowledge that came out of it! The gentleman teaching the class were knowledgeable, and had a strong focus on safety. Their constant focus on procedures and safe handling of weapons made me feel more comfortable. Having the staff watch me while I was shooting and correcting on the spot was just what I needed! read more

Great training. Not only are Kevin and Lance experienced with what they are teaching, but also know how to actually instruct . They are approachable and friendly making for an enjoyable training and learning experience. A person will not learn anything or enjoy their training experience if they get hurt or are worried about getting hurt. Lance and Kevin run a very safe range and safety is of the utmost importance. Lance and Kevin are top rate instructors. The in class experience is as serious as needed during the conversations that need to hit home, and light and humorous enough to keep it fun and engaging. When you get to the range you will see the hyper safety concepts they taught in class, pointing out multiple learning events even while monitoring 5 live shooters at the same time. Attended the Basic Pistol class yesterday with two of my girlfriends and I can't say enough about the excellent training we received from Kevin and Lance! Both were very thorough and professional and explained everything that made the experience both knowledgeable and enjoyable. You will not find two better instructors. I feel very confident and comfortable with the knowledge I have learned, on how to handle my firearm properly and safely, thanks to these two! I highly recommend any and all training classes that Advanced Defense Solutions has to offer, from the novice shooter to the more advanced shooter. Basic Beginners Class - Excellent! I am not a beginner but also not a regular shooter. I took the class for CCW purposes and hoped I would learn a few things as well. I was not disappointed! The class does cover all the basics - down to parts of the gun, how to eject the magazine, etc. so if you are experienced you may find these moments boring, however; they present the material in an interesting way, interact with students, inject humor at times, and overall made the class enjoyable. I did learn a few things about safety and they reinforced technique's I had just learned about gun control a week before. Speaking with some of the "newbies" in the class, they all enjoyed it, felt it was worthwhile, and recommended it for my wife and daughter. I will definitely sign up for the other classes offered! read more

I took the whole family to the Basic Pistol class. The instructors are very friendly and easy going. They gave a lot of time to my wife and son to make them feel comfortable, even before the class started. We were in a classroom at the shooting range, where they had some power points set up for us. This class is great for a new shooter or even a person who has some experience, but never had any formal instruction. They start with a section on gun safety, including the four cardinal rules of gun safety. Great reminder to even the experienced shooter. Then we moved on to the break down of the gun and the major parts of how the gun works. Once finished with getting familiar with our weapons we started in on Basic of marksmanship. This portion was particularly great as it really broke down all the fundamentals to accurate shooting, like trigger control, sight picture and sight alignment. The next section was Mental Preparation for self defense...Great info shooting range: We were at the Rio Salado Range, but I really liked the fact that the class was on a private shooting bay, so we were shooting with only our class and did not have to share with any of the other shooters at the range. Both of the instructors were really helpful and friendly about making corrections to various shooters. We had a great time and it was something the whole family could do. Not sure if they have an age limit, but I brought my 12 year-old who out shot most of the class. We enjoyed it some much we are taking their intermediate shooters class, which will have much more shoot and movement, incorporated and practice drawing and holstering. Well I've now taken 2 of their classes and can say these two guys know their stuff. Great classes and great information. The information, techniques and tips they give are so accurate. What a plus to be able to talk through a situation and then go live fire on the range. The classes are way under valued in my simple opinion! great stuff, so great I'm taking them again! read more
