Dentist helped me with my teeth, but it's crazy bananas bonkers expensive. And insurance is unpredictable, so you'll never know how much you'll really be charged. Good place for teeth, bad place for your wallet. Dentist keeps charging people for appointments they didn't make. I'm told I have an appointment next week, but I didn't agree to the time or make the appointment; however, if I don't go at the time they chose, then they will charge me $75!!! Nah, dude. Nah. Not paying for that. One time my insurance reimbursed me and I got a call from the office saying that they wanted that money. I like the doctor, but the office is a disappointment that sucks money for silly reasons. LOVE my dentist and her entire team!!! You do not hear that a lot for a dentist office :p First of all, the office space is SO gorgeous. I feel like I'm at the spa - the view alone is calming and beautiful. The staff, beyond helpful and nice. They literally make me feel so at ease from scheduling to all of my treatments. Dr Cheetra is an exceptional dentist and to add to this, she is the kindest, sweetest doctor. Always has a smile on her face and so full of positive energy. Aside from a cavity and regular cleanings, I got Invisalign to fix movement in my bottom teeth from aging, eek. I was worried about the process but it was super seamless and pain free. It went by super fast and I am SO SO HAPPY I did it!!! Your smile is your signature and first expression. Dr Tiruveedula is not truthful. I experienced difficulty with her billing my dental plan after she agreed to accept the allowable fee. She charged me full price. When she finally billed my dental plan, she kept the extra funds and has refused to pay me the overpayment. Her dental skills are fair at best. She doesn't recommend root canals. Then she told me she wouldn't bill my dental plan anymore and expected me to pay in full. I don't recommend this dentist. read more

Best Experience I ever had. From someone who was once told by a dentist "you make me hate my job...yup, true story." I can't recommend Dr Chitra Tiruveedula enough. I am one of those rare people that Novacaine does not affect meaning Novacaine is given to me, but it does not give the numbing sensation it is supposed to. For years I would cry and cry and dentist wouldn't believe me that it was hurting. I thought I was crazy until I've met other people that dealt with the same thing! I feel like I should start a support group for the non-Novacane experiencers! The bedside manner of this dentist is just out of this world. As soon as I walk into a dentist office, my nerves are shot, and I am basically the worst patient you could possibly have. within minutes, I was relaxed, even knowing i was having to have four teeth pulled. conclusion, It was an absolute breeze. In my journey to reconstruct my mouth I can't imagine going anywhere else moving forward. Great place! Dr. Chitra is as wonderful as everybody says she is. I love how attentive and personal the care is here. The ambience is really nice and bright, there are windows in the rooms. (Most dentists offices, you just wait around in a white, boxy room and they barely know who you are.) It's overall a relaxing environment with people who care. I had a poor experience here. I came in for a cleaning and they sold me on having all 4 wisdom teeth removed, gum irrigation, and just kept trying to get more and more out of me. My teeth have never felt sensitive, however after getting treatment done here over a year ago, till this day, my teeth feel sensitive and sore often times, which I don't think should be the case after spending thousands here. If you do go here, remain firm on what you want and don't want. Right away their goal is to get your xray done and speed through your treatment plan, not even giving you enough time to think or decide. They just pull up the calendar and start scheduling for you. I felt like they were trying to upsell me the entire time. The main thing that bothers me is that my teeth are still sore one year later, even though i floss and take great care of them. This place changed them, and not for the better. Also- they will keep calling and texting you asking why you haven't scheduled your next appointment, even after you tell them you will not be. A year later, I still get missed calls and text messages from them. I have been to many better dentists offices before that don't pressure you and ensure you leave feeling better with healthier teeth. This place is not one of them. read more

Too aggressive and expensive. I went here looking for a dental office closer to home. Everyone in the office was very nice, but about 1/2 way through my visit I started to get the feeling that I was being sold on all this dental work that I needed right away. I went in for a regular cleaning (which I've never paid more then my copay for) and ended up paying a few hundred dollars. The girl behind the desk kept saying it was "great that my insurance covers 80%", like it was okay to just keep tacking on services because it was mostly covered. Then I was told that I couldn't schedule a regular cleaning in six months because I needed to schedule an appointment for a deep cleaning within the next few weeks (which would have been well over $1k out of pocket). She also mentioned that they didn't schedule appointments every six months, and that it would be every 3 or 4 months. At this point I told her I would call back already knowing that I would not be returning because quite frankly, they're too expensive for me and I absolutely hate feeling like I'm being sold. Fast forward six months and this morning I received a text saying I had an appointment. They went ahead and scheduled me for an appointment that I didn't even make. I wanted to like this office, but am so turned off my how pushy they came across. read more

I was greeted by a very friendly receptionist who walked me through all their practice services and prepped me for my appointment. The place is nice and clean and you get a good view of TC depending on where u sit. My dentist completed all my fillings with ease and explained the whole procedure with professionalism. I would give it ZERO stars if i could. Actually never got service. Made appointment for 8:40am before work. I received a confirmation text the day before at 7:20am only to then receive a call from the office at 12:15pm (less than 24hr notice which they expect YOU to cancel 24hr in advance but DONOT give you the customer the same courtesy back) that they do not take customers that early and i would have to move it to 10am. I told them then i cannot make another appointment at the time and would call back. I decided i no longer wanted to go due to the feeling in my gut i felt about this business. They messaged me AGAIN the morning of my original appointment set that they were looking forward to seeing me. I messaged right away within 10minutes that YOUR OFFICE called and cancelled my appointment!!!!! Mind you they have a $150 deposit for appointment if you do a no show. THIS WAS NOT A NO SHOW AS YOUR OFFICE CANCELED MY APPOINTMENT AND IN LESS THAN 24hr IN ADVANCE!!!! I called the office to speak to management regarding why they're office is so unorganized?? Barb or the man whose name rhymes with Barb had the AUDACITY to say "We'll maam (miss im not old YOU are) you never called me back to set a new appointment time so we call that a no show" A NOW SHOW is a non-appearance of an appointment SET BY THE CUSTOMER WHICH I DID AND YOU YOUR OFFICE CANCELLED NOT ME!!!!! Highly recommend this place to anyone who's looking for excellent service and super accommodating staff. Dr.Chitra makes you feel super comfy and is very effortless at her work. I stumbled across Dr. Chitra and staff by happenstance with an emergency front tooth replacement over a year ago. What a sigh of relief! I had been using an un-named dentist in DP Harbor that was horrible. She helped me out in a big way that day...and, I have no reason to go anywhere else since! Recently had a couple fillings and my wisdom teeth extracted. Communication was 5-star, cleanliness 5-star, kindness 5-star and they were willing to work with my budget. I previously had some dental work done at the end of May. I thought this was a great office and referred my boyfriend to come here and he referred his sister to come here too! But... there are some things that have changed my perspective of this office since my first two visits. I believed I had paid for everything at the end of my teeth cleaning but here we are a couple months later and am receiving mail that I have unpaid dues. Looking through the unpaid dues list, I have charges for photos and "oral dental hygiene instructions" that couldn't have been addressed before? For real? In addition, I had made an appointment which I no longer go to because I was going to be out of town for a while, and did not see when I would have the time or even the money to continue doing the dental work they said I needed. I wanted to cancel my appointment and get a refund but I was told that I would get a call back from Dr. Chitra to discuss that but never did I recieve any call back. But they did manage to look into my chart again and charge my insurance for things from my very first appointment. It has been months since I've heard from them and now I have this mail letter from my insurance basically telling me their office is asking me for more money. I'm sorry. It's a nice looking office and friendly staff. I originally came in for a cleaning and a checkup as a new patient. Soon into my appt, Dr. Chithra was recommending all types of expensive services (Invisalign, $50 prescription toothpaste, etc.) Despite me saying multiple times that I do not have the financials to cover anything out of pocket other than copay (I am a college student), I felt pressured to spend on all these extra services that I don't need at this point in time. Money hungry, focused on upsells, not relationship-driven. Called and spoke to multiple people to get some preliminary information and still got roped into an appointment after saying I didn't want one yet and making it VERY clear that I needed to double-check about the pricing/copays because we are up to our eyeballs in baby-related expenses... This ended with the "Doctor" trying to use fear to coax me into a procedure that was more expensive (that I'm sure I need, but just can't afford right now) and saying things like "if you don't want to take care of yourself, I can't help that..." and guilting me by saying "we already confirmed your insurance and reached out to your doctor for approval (their insistance, NOT MINE!!!) - we have already done some work already".... that was the final straw for me! I just wanted a teeth cleaning and they basically will not simply do a cleaning if I need more services (that I can't right now afford). I feel completely exhausted and at 7+months pregnant, I just need to find an office that is willing to build a relationship first because that's what I can afford (babycare is expensive and is the priority) and then get the money later! read more

I went in for a unique set of problems in my mouth that my regular doctor was unable to provide care for, let alone provide information for. First office that I've been to that takes my dentist anxiety seriously. Dr. Chitra always made sure I was comfortable. But, since the first visit, I knew that the place seemed a little off. I always felt pressured to get procedures done. I went in to get a bridge done. Spent thousands at this place. I trusted this place. My card would get charged without my permission most of the time. They would call and leave a message asking for permission and not even 5 mins after, they'd charge without authorization. I also got composite redone on my two front teeth (which have a minor gap in between) and it came out WORST than before... my teeth were SO yellow and did NOT match my other teeth. I went back to get it redone and Chitra only polished them and said it's my diet....(I use straws for everything). I went in again for the same reason and again I only got polished !? Third time I went in and they redid it... they went down a couple shades but... my teeth are now SUPER sensitive and they are SO uneven and they have dents and rough lines. Her excuse was that they're not going to be good because I need veneers.... This was the biggest issue for me. I felt super defeated and still do. And to makes things worst, she sold me whitening trays which I used religiously, only to find out that they were EXPIRED. I felt tricked. I had to purchase two boxes because the first expired ones didn't work and she again.. had blamed it on my diet. I went in to get a refund and it really did take a lot for her to give my refund. She said that I shouldn't be getting a refund because I didn't have all of them in the box. I used them because I trusted my dentist...just how you would trust your general physician. How would you feel if you got expired meds from your doctor? This isn't the only problem. They also do not keep accurate records of the work you get done. My husband asked for all of the work I had done including the money we paid, to be itemized and she had the audacity to write it down by hand ... then after we denied that as a hard copy she continued to type up the stuff instead. A lot of the numbers that she would present didn't match up. I honestly, don't know what I spent my money on. One of the items on there, for example, was a visit from a periodontist that supposedly checked my gums? I don't remember that visit -$300 . You also never get a set appointment. Your appointment that you agree on, WILL be changed multiple times to their convenience and not to yours. They sometimes will not even give you 48 or at least 24 hour notice. I could go on with big and little problems. I do not recommend this place if you respect your time, your wallet and teeth. read more

A few weeks ago I had an emergency surgery at a hospital for a ruptured appendix and the anesthesiologist pushed the air tube against the side of my cheek slightly damaging my gum.
