In this case, Daniel Mejia, DMD from Coastal Dental referred me. I knew it would be a great decision because Coastal Dental truly cares about their patients. I decided to check out the reviews from Southcoast Endodontics. The doctors rated very well, but I chose Quan Nghiem, DMD. Sometimes you just get a feeling and go with it, which is what I did. At the end of March I went for my consultation. As soon as I walked in, I had already felt relaxed. The building was very well kept and immaculate. Karen Nunes, the receptionist was a pleasure to deal with. There are times I find that receptionists are not very friendly or accommodating. I have seen them be rude to other patients and even their own co-workers. That is definitely not a good reflection on the people who employ them. After filling out my forms, I was seen by one of the assistants, Karen Casado, who took x-rays. We started talking about different things. I felt like I had been going there for a long time. She was so easy to get along with. Dr. Quan Nghiem then walked in and explained to me what was going to be done. He was very friendly. They scheduled my appointment the following week. When I left, I was 100% confident I was going to be in good hands. I had my root canal done April 3rd. I was fully relaxed. Dr. Nghiem and his assistant Karen Casado did an amazing job. Although I was not nervous, I love how they distract the patient so that they don't think about what is being done. They were AMAZING!! I felt no pain or discomfort during or after the procedure. What an outstanding team the two of them were!! Needless to say, I was very impressed and extremely happy with SouthCoast Endodontics! I had a cracked tooth with no pain, day of root canal comes in, once again mad hurry, does the root canal and was unsuccessful. Then tells me, tooth needs to be pulled and go see your dentist and he can recommenced you to an oral surgeon and flew out of office. I knew from the start he would not be able to do root canal because he was running around his offices and not focused at all. He needs to calm down and not think how many patients he can do an hour for $$. Basically, butchered my tooth and I am pain since I left his office with my tooth. DO NOT RECOMMEND

Then after being told we were being charged almost double the going rate for the procedure, someone came out to the waiting room to announce "we're almost done but we can't finish up until the bill is paid in full." Like wait, what?!? We were in the process of paying, but what does that even mean? Are you leaving a big hole in her tooth if the credit card doesn't go through? I get that you need paid, but if you are gonna start before payment is made then you have to assume some risk and be prepared to finish the damn job. Either way, dont come out and threaten to do a crap job. I hadn't planned to be here today either. Give me a minute to get the credit card info you need so you dont have to half-ass her care.

When she performed the exam, she made sure I was numb before doing anything major. I just appreciated how patient she was. It made what was potentially a scary visit just that much better. They said they confirmed and made appointment, but was having problems with my insurance being charged still made appointment. fast forward two weeks later to my appointment two hours before my 2 PM appointment this office calls stating my insurance still isn't being able to be charged. Also, they won't be able to see me. Meanwhile immediately I got on the phone to try to correct issue. Long story short, I finally get my insurance customer service lady on the phone and she calls them personally with me on standby final outcome. They don't except my type of insurance , they are incompetent as secretaries, I hate to see what the doctors do if they allow jerkoffs to work there probably the same way.
