My root canal procedures took two office visits because my teeth were so infected that the doctor needed to impact the roots with anabiotics before he could complete the root canal procedure. Because of the outstanding work that I received from Dr. Radke and his assistant, Kelly, --- I was compelled to ask his staff how could I let others know of his phenomenal skills so that other patients would know that this is the office to come to when you really need help! So ... The ladies in the office installed "Yelp" on my phone and then I immediately went to my car and wrote this message! In my case, for initial exam (usually covered at 100% by BlueCross), they insisted on collecting an advance payment of $355. Once I paid, they charged me $700+ for "Cone CT" and have not refunded the money. They subjected me to unnecessary radiation despite my telling them that I am a "cancer survivor" and didn't want the scan. For Dr. Stuparitz, it appears that making money takes priority over a patient's well being. Sad! By posting my experience, I hope I can save others from being fleeced. Even if I can save one person, I will consider my $355 loss had some redeeming value. Thanks!

Do I need to repeat how amazing he is and impressed we are? And his staff is incredible! Last time it was Amy and Elizabeth, who directly assisted Dr. Cooper, and, of course, others helped too before and after the treatment. Truly amazing dentist and human, and truly kind and caring staff! Where do I begin?.. We came to Dr. Cooper to fix the mistakes of our former dentist. We were referred to him by our oral surgeon/implantologist. In his office waiting room we saw numerous diplomas of credentials and achievements along with numerous stories about his selfless service to patients and community, and we were impressed that the dentist with decades of experience and such great achievements was in our network, as many dentists we met before left networks as soon as they got well-established, so we knew that Dr. Cooper wasn't in it just for money. He spent plenty of time with us and temporarily fixed the shaking wrongly installed crown and installed a new crown and give us a discount (which we never asked for!), because he "felt bad for us." How amazing is that?! His numerous staff members were so friendly, as if we knew them for years, truly and genuinely friendly and helpful. They have a mini fridge available with waters in the waiting room and a coffee station. Once called back, the appointment felt rushed. I had imaging done and then had a 2-3 minute interaction with Dr. Max. There was no discussion of options, risks, etc. I was prescribed an antibiotic and told to schedule the next two appointments for root canal retreatment. I was a bit disoriented. I did as asked but eventually cancelled those two follow up appointments and scheduled with a different practice with more time for patient care and education.

The doctor was second to none this time again. My wife didn't feel a thing during procedure or today. Dr. Max asked her how she was feeling every step of the way during his 1.5-hour procedure. He explained every step and every X-Ray and scan before, during, and after the treatment (several X-Rays and CT scans), and he patiently answered our (especially my) every question (and I had many of them). How amazing is that?! He is so gentle, kind, and caring! SECOND TO NONE! 2023: I just found out that Dr. Max opened his new Grayslake Endodontics practice, and I decided to share our experience. I visited Dr. Max for root canal treatment twice 1-1.5 years ago in his previous office. He performed an extensive diagnostics and treated my root canal, and it was painless. My wife had her root canal done by Dr. Max as well, and she had great experience with him as well. He is not only an excellent endodontist/dentist/doctor with gentle bedside manners, but he is very down-to-Earth friendly guy. My wife and I both had unplanned endodontic issues arise within two months of each other and experienced similar experiences with this practice. With my wife's experience, which was more severe from the dental perspective, Dr. Bahrani, adjusted her schedule to get her treated same day because of the significance of the issue. What I appreciate about Dr. Bahrani is her concern in my case was my significant and complex medical issues that exist before my dental issues. She gathered all the required information from other providers to provide the best possible solution for procedure anesthesia given limitations based on my medical conditions. I have heard from friends and family the horror stories of root canals and the pain and suffering from other endodontists. Dr. Bahrani's empathy in every step of the process from beginning to end was extraordinary if I had slightest wince she would not proceed until I was completely numb and comfortable. I had soreness but that is expected and that lasted less than 24 hours. The billing aspect is exceptional as well. Her staff, appropriately, bills for the services at the time of service because dental insurance is one of the most crazy and unique calculations, but within 24 hours of receiving the insurance payment credits you back with the difference. Additionally, I sincerely appreciate Dr. Bahrani and her staff doing the work of becoming a Delta Dental Premier provider which makes my life easier financially.
