When I came into…read morethis facility I was not greeted and it was like I was an inconvenience just walking through the door. The receptionists or glorified paper pushers were extremely rude, disrespectful and incredibly uncomfortable being around. I was going to walk out immediately after entering but really wanted to see my Dr. Heather was a breath of fresh air. She had a generous amount of warmth, positive energy, great vibes and overall a heart of gold. I mentioned that I'd like to come back but just wait in my car and text her when I show up for my appointment because I refuse to interact with those girls in the front. First impressions are everything. I always give everyone a chance because we're human and can have some off days. This just felt like the heaviest negative energy and I wanted nothing to do with it. Huge thank you to Heather for changing my entire experience

I scheduled a new patient appointment for a UTI and neck pain that I needed help with. The office called me a few days later stating the provider wouldn't be available and needed to reschedule. I was asked to come in 30 minutes early for a new patient appointment, which I did. I arrived at 2:00 pm and was not called in to a room until 2:50pm. When I finally get into a room, the medical assistant asks me what I'm there for, so I tell her UTI and neck pain. She immediately cuts me off and says "Oh no. We're not going to be able to do all that. Wow, I wish you would have said something sooner! There's all this bunch of other stuff I have to do then!" and acts as if this is all a big inconvenience. I just sat down, and I'm a new patient so how was I to know this? I've never had this problem with ANY other provider. She also tells me how no, they're not going to address my neck pain problem today since they don't have time. She told me each appointment is only 15 minutes. It became clear this isn't a clinic but a conveyor belt for getting patients in and out as fast as possible. Overall, the professionalism and bedside manner were lacking. Once Dr. McDonald finally came in, my misgivings only worsened. She would ask me a question such as "any fever or chill?" and I would answer, then a few moments later she would ask again "Did I already ask if you have fever or chills?" I said yes you already did ask. She said "Well do you?" I didn't feel I got the attention a new patient should get. How could I if all they allow is 15 minutes per appointment? I needed a follow up appointment for the neck pain and I agreed due to how severe it is, I needed help and they had appointments available same day or next day--according to the medical assistant. The provider sent me over to the scheduler who tried to schedule me a month out. I let her know I wanted to come back as soon as possible. She gave me a look like a was stupid or crazy for asking that. She gets up to ask the provider who is standing nearby "You want her back in a month right? She wants to come back ASAP." The provider confirms I can come back whenever. The scheduler finally helps me schedule an appointment. I ended up canceling this appointment since I realized I wouldn't get the help I needed here. I went to a different provider and the experience was like night and day. Never returning here.

This is basically a concierge style medical practice that allows for a better option to see your physician when you need to. There is a cost associated to this level of service, but given the current healthcare climate, I think it is money well spent. This allows Dr. Smith to actually know what ailments you might have or how to maintain or improve your health. With the MDVIP program, Dr. Smith has an opportunity to know your name and your comprehensive health history, not just reading your chart. This is a very custom approach to medicine that you don't see in most doctors offices. The wait to see Dr. Smith is usually very short. If you call to set up an appointment, often times you can be seen the same day or the next day depending on his schedule. In most cases once you walk in, you will be directed to the separate waiting area for Dr. Smith's patients that includes bottled water, TV, and light healthy snacks. The longest I have had to wait is around five or 10 minutes. The nurse will come and get you, take you to an exam room, and talk about what the reason for your visit is and to take your vitals. Dr. Smith is generally prompt with his appointment times, and wastes little time getting to see you. I have been a patient of Dr. Paul Smith for several years and know he is a real person, and talks to you like a real person. He knows about you and your family, and how your health affects both. He enjoys athletic activities, and often shares stories of his recent adventures. He is passionate about the care he provides to his patients, and does everything he can to understand what ails them or how to improve their overall health. There are numerous opportunities throughout the year to interact with Dr. Smith with outdoor activities, cooking seminars, or trying new athletic activities to help provide alternatives to a sedentary lifestyle. Another component of the program includes an annual wellness check. This is similar to a baseline physical, that evaluates your comprehensive well-being and is way more thorough. There is a battery of tests and blood samples taken to identify areas of concern and or areas that you are doing well with. It is always nice to see improvement in your progress year after year.
