I called…read moreGoodwill medical to say I had a hospital bed to donate and I was told (by a guy, I didn't get his name) that I should wait about 10 days to two weeks for a call back from Goodwill, at which time a pick up would be scheduled. I was asked no questions about any of the features of the hospital bed. After two weeks had passed, I called back, and I was asked by the guy who answered to give scheduling a couple more days. Again, I was asked nothing about the features of the hospital bed. About a week later, a young lady from Goodwill medical called and asked if I was still interested in making the donation. I said yes, but explained that I would not be there on the day of the pick up. She asked me if I could get it outside for the date of pick up and I said I could. And I did. She did not ask me anything about the features of the hospital bed. Upon arrival to the house, the driver (Rick) determined that the bed was not a "hospital bed" and did not pick the bed it. When I spoke to him, he said it is not a hospital bed because it does not raise and lower, and does not have wheels. He then said well, it is at least not the kind of a hospital bed that Goodwill sells. Rick went on to say that there are 7 people who work in the office and none of them do their jobs. He said that this kind of thing "happens all the time." When I spoke to the operations manager, Ray, I asked him why I was not told at any point before pick up what features were needed to make this donation. He said that Goodwill assumes people know what a hospital bed is. He then asked me to send him pictures of the hospital bed because maybe he could "help me out." And even after sending these pictures, he declined to take this donation. After reviewing the website, I see that Goodwill medical does not take any hospital bed mattresses, and accepts only single sized hospital beds WITH RAILS. The website says nothing about raising and lowering or wheels -- but I guess the general public knows that all hospital beds raise and lower and have wheels. Never again.

I currently live about 40 minutes away from Wellness First and have a variety of big-chain pharmacies that are just MINUTES around the corner - and I can honestly tell you that I have and always will take that 40 minute trip before I ever use one of the big-chain stores for my pharmaceutical needs ever again. I was diagnosed with breast cancer a week after my 24th birthday, and as a result have made countless trips to various pharmacies within the last 5 years of my life. I have NEVER witnessed such hell as the one I went through while trying to obtain my pain medications. I had reconstructive surgery following the removal of both my breasts that used my latissimus muscles to create a barrier between my skin and the implants. This surgery unfortunately had a higher risk of chronic pain, a risk I fell victim to soon after. I was on pain medication for two years before finally finding a schedule 3 option for my pain, and during these two years I was judged, lied to and submitted to horrible customer service techniques thanks to these big-chain pharmacies. My scripts always came from Fox Chase Cancer Center, were always confirmed by their incredible pain mgmt team, and were never used to score my medications any earlier than they were meant for, and yet I spent month after month being treated like garbage because of my age and the nature of these drugs. The anxiety would build up each Day 30 as I made the trip into these pharmacies, many times returning to my car in an ugly-faced sobbing session. I spent multiple Day 30's driving 5+ hours from big-chain pharmacy to big-chain pharmacy, despite having begun each Day 30 at the same exact pharmacy location for almost two years. They never considered procuring a 30-day supply for me despite my obvious repetition. They could never tell me if any of the other nearby chains had my medication in stock despite my loyal monthly refills (evidence that I wasn't looking to rob their drug safes which is why I believe this practice is in place). When my insurance company screwed up (which was ALWAYS) they never went the extra mile to help square things away, in fact, they did the exact opposite and assumed that because insurance wasn't covering it that I must be a raging pill popper (even when they admitted that it was Day 30 or they didn't see any problems that would lead to the insurance companies denial of coverage). My life was a living nightmare month after month after month... And just when I felt like I couldn't survive another month I found Wellness First. Kayly (the owner) is literally one of the most genuine people I have ever met. I cannot say enough good things about her - but I will try my best to list the most important. She ALWAYS takes the time to talk with me during every single visit, catches up with what is going on with me medically, and suggests natural remedies when she knows of one that could help. She gets to know each and every person who walks into her doors, not just to protect herself as a licensed pharmacist and business owner, but so she can provide you with the absolute best customer service she possibly can. She is constantly going the extra mile for me, researching financial assistance or alternative treatments, and never lets me walk out that door knowing that I was leaving in tears. She is reasonable and flexible, she is compassionate and empathetic, and dear lord she is one smart cookie!! If I bring in a script with multiple refills, or if I let her know the script I am filling will be an every month thing, she WILL have that medication ready for me to pick up on Day 30 without fail. If I'm not able to make it over to the pharmacy for whatever reason she will mail it to me overnight to make sure I don't have to suffer an extra day without it. The other employees there are just as considerate, and you can tell Kayly has set a "tone at the top" based on the best customer service values out there. Wellness First Pharmacy is exactly what a pharmacy should be, and I only wish that I had found them much sooner. I can confidently state that I will never refrain from taking that 40 minute trip if it means I am treated the way Kayly and her team treat all of their customers during each and every visit. Please don't get me wrong, they are VERY diligent in making sure the facts line up, so do not take this kindness as naivety. To be blunt: if you are pill-seeking - this is the one place you DEFINITELY want to avoid... that is, unless you want to end up getting caught. But if you are an honest patient like me who is just trying to fight through each day the best you can with the help of what your doctors prescribed you, then Wellness First will make it so you too never want to step foot in another big-chain pharmacy again. **NOTE: They are located one minute down the street from Fox Chase Cancer Center - very convenient if you are a current patient!**
