Not that my husband was expecting royal treatment but was treated like a low rated citizen. He asked to try on 3 different pairs of Nike shoes and while he was waiting, noticed no one moving to check the back room, and the so called employees were just hanging out, on their phones. My husband waited for a good ten minutes before he left without even someone coming to him about the 3 pairs he inquired about. Came and asked me to come back to the store because he felt he was being treated unfairly. As a manager of an established company I found myself appalled by the energy, the employees and the music. I am not even sure who the manager was at the time, but when we came into the store, I asked the young lady behind the register if we had figured the shoes out? She said she had ti find out and walked out of the store and asked someone that was sitting on the bench outside of the store. She then came in and placed one pair on the side of the register and starting ringing them up. I mentioned that he, my husband wanted to try them out first. As he was trying the one pair on she came over and said that they didn't have the others in stock. What is actually happening in this store? It honestly feels as if these three employees want the company to fail. No customer service. No sense of urgency. Cells phones glued to their hands. Inventory not appropriately checked on and the sales floor not up to par. Again, from a managers perspective this is not acceptable. And if you look at your cameras you will see the foolery. My husband and I were very disappointed in the experience and that moment in our day that we were celebrating our anniversary was soured. We will never go back to this location.

The preference in hiring is someone in their 20-35 years old range and preferably Spanish speaking. In interviewing potential new employees, loyalty to the job, never calling off, willing to work extra shifts, coming in early to work, working really hard and enthusiastically, being customer oriented, dressed professional in interviewing with a professional resume and cover letter, having college degrees, and having relevant work experiences mean nothing to the Gen Z and Millennial hiring folks. They just hire people they want to hang with, more like looking for new friends. This is especially true of Belk.

This very last time I had entered the store and could not find one employee to help me. There was not one sales associate on the floor. I then waited by the dressing room with numerous amounts of items in my hands, not knowing they were unlocked. Finally someone walks out and says you can just go in. Once at checkout again I waited over 5 mins for anyone to even notice I was up there. Attitude and personality go a long way and not one associate had a positive attitude. I'm just saying lack of employees visible to a customer can probably cause horrible LP issues in this store.

I got on some type of machine that reads my foot size etc. They actually emailed me the results. He asked me a bunch of questions and was able to determine the running shoes that would best suit me. He quickly brought them out, laced them up and put them on for me. I told him I wasn't used to such good service. He said that made him sad. He really knew a lot about running and running shoes. I felt blessed that he was the one that was able to help me. They didn't have the size in the shoe that I really needed. I was so impressed with his service I ended up buying a pair to use to walk around in. I know I probably overpaid for them but the service was so great I didn't mind. I wrote his name on a piece of paper when I left but I can't find it now. He said he was about to run "The last man standing race." I felt good about the purchase and would highly recommend this location.
