My husband wasn't allowed back with our child for the ultrasound for our new baby. When filling out…read morepre registration paperwork it said all children under 18 need to be attended by an adult, not that they weren't allowed in the imagining room. They took a moment and cherished memory away from our growing family. We drove an hour for the appointment so there was no other option for my child at the time. Staff seemed combative and on edge about the policy. Overall, not a positive experience and I would not recommend to others. Let me be very clear, we've been here three times for sonograms in the last 2.5 years. Our first time my family was allowed back and it was a pleasant experience. The second visit my children weren't allowed back with their father until the end where they came in briefly to see the baby. The third visit they weren't allowed at all. The second visit was the worst because the staff was very unfriendly and combative about the change in policy. My tech proceeded not to talk to me for the first 15 minutes of my scan. It was dehumanizing and isolating. I was given no prior notice and again, the preregistration paperwork says children under 18 must be supervised by an adult. Which is fairly misleading as that to me implies they can accompany as long as they are supervised. The only redeeming factor of that visit was the tech did invite them in to see the baby at the very end. It doesn't take away from the stress induced during the sonogram, as my heart was racing from the initial altercation/misunderstanding and silence for most of the visit, but I was glad family did get to briefly share in that moment. This last visit I was a bit more prepared for the policy change, but I'd like to reiterate that the staff is not friendly and on edge about enforcing the policy. They did not allow my family in at the very end this time despite having done prior. As someone who might be having complications with an upcoming pregnancy, it was very jarring and anxiety inducing being separated from my support system. Being pregnant is a vulnerable experience. It's supposed to be filled with joy and shared memories with families as a family is growing. My children are well behaved and should be included in the experience. If they're not, we escort them out of wherever we're at. It's also a fairly inequitable policy. We had to travel over an hour for these visits, so it's not like I can call family and friends to watch my children during the visit as we were already there. My heart goes out to the unknowing working mom who took off but doesn't have a strong support system so she must bring her other children with or whatever unknown situation someone getting radiology work might be experiencing. It's not very understanding to complexities of your patients background. The policy change isn't family oriented or parent minded making this facility a fairly un-"family friendly" place. Ultimately, the inconsistencies and treatment were intolerable. My hope is that this is our last child so we don't ever have to be referred here again. That or we will be specifically requesting to go elsewhere in the future as this facility has negatively impacted my current pregnancy experience to a point where I'd prefer to never return.

He was released on September 14th without his clothes or shoes, and without having any contacts in Illinois to assist him. They told him it was their normal procedure to dispose of patient clothing and his best pair of shoes. After much searching they were able to find his wallet, glasses and car keys but not the keys to him camper, which is his temporary home. I followed-up with the crises center that were working with him but they didn't seem too concerned that a vulnerable person was released in this manner. He may have made terrible decisions over the years that caused his dementia-like symptoms, but he is a human and deserved better.

Seems Christie, OSF and Carle are now in the decptive business bankrupting many folks who even have high cost health insurance.  They bank on the price setting I guess and set them as high as possible and pricing services way more than realistic.  People are loosing all hope in the collections, medical and operational systems Illinois and these medical systems have in place.

We didn't find out about this until more than a week had passed. My sister, a nurse, took her into the ER and our followup included a visit with the wound care team, specifically Shelby, RN and Teresa, PA. When we went in, the wound looked bad-they took good care of her, abraded the wound, Teresa even took the time while we were in there to talk with my sister on the phone about what they were doing and what had been done previously. We arrived late-it took me 45 minutes to get my mother out the door and they couldn't have been more gracious or helpful.

Forget pretty much anything serious or dealing with family planning, it's a hopeless morass of bullshit and referals. The head desk folks are friendly, though. Also, bring a book or two because, although all these places are empty, you'll still wait until after your appointment time. You will also never see an MD, just a RN. The staff is friendly though. The referall call center will also likely take a week or more to get you to a doctor because they don't check your insurance properly. It's a useless middle step that adds nothing. People are friendly though. In short, if you live here you have very few choices and the people here are friendly.
