My wife and I just had our second child on 8/24. Our first was born at Bro-Menn, and while the…read morestaff was awesome, the facilities were only so-so. We were thrilled we'd get to try out the new birthing center; the tour was awesome, and we were excited. Well, that excitement lasted about four or five hours. It IS a gorgeous facility, with tons of natural light, and more room than I expected for our accommodations. However, we found the staff very hit-or-miss, and overall felt like we were being generally ignored. I thought it was just because they were filled to bursting, being the new shiny OB wing, but based on m m's review from 6/23, we had almost EXACTLY the same issues. The good: The birthday cake was pretty delicious. Getting a silver spoon was kind of neat, but unnecessary. The rooms are big. Now the rest... First, a word on the facility. While it's new, it's often ... kinda cheap. BOTH of the lights in the Dad's Corner, and one of the lights behind my wife's bed were burned out. We let them know on Wednesday and again on Thursday. When we left on Saturday around noon, they were STILL burned out. Housekeeping came in one time, on Wednesday when my wife was sleeping. They said they'd come back later, but we didn't see them again during the three-day duration of our stay. They never even came by after Catering spilled a soda near the door, and the lady notified them. The food was another issue. We found Bro-Menn's menu to be much, much better than we both expected. OSF's is much worse. Nothing on the menu was particularly good, the soups were watery, the hot meals were tasteless, and it was overall poor to average. All of this could have been forgiven if the nursing staff had been attentive, prompt, or personable. I would say three out of over a dozen nurses we had made a point of introducing themselves. Almost none wrote their names on the whiteboard. They dropped by as little as possible, never just checking in, and took their time getting back to us when we called. They even needed US to call THEM to remind them when my wife needed her pain medicine. At Bro-Menn, there was one nurse for my wife and one nurse for our kid. I've been told this isn't the norm, but I thought it was great - both patients got the needed attention. Here, my wife and our new son shared a nurse. As a result, I felt like our new son was basically ignored, honestly. A few incidents kind of stand out, but this is getting over-long. I'll just mention two, because they were the same night. My wife was (finally) able to sleep, and dozing soundly with our new son nearby. A tech came in and rather than check back later, she actually woke my wife up - whose vitals had been fine since the c-section - rather than coming back later. Either that same tech or a different one just picked our son out of bed to run vitals, too, rather than waiting until he was awake on his own. I don't know who it was - like I said, they didn't introduce themselves. I'd say three or four out of twelve-ish nurses were anything like warm or personable. Most of the rest weren't. New facilities and neat ads or not, I'd recommend staying away. We thought the staff was simply overworked because there were so many patients going to the shiny new center, but it seems like this is standard at OSF. We are never going back there unless we have to at this point. Bro-Menn gave us five-star care; the care here was one-star. I added 1 star for the rooms being huge and actually comfortable. In nearly every other respect, this was a 1-star experience we don't want to repeat.

They are so specialized that I have to see many different doctors and incur many charges (which I…read moresuspect is part of their plan) just to get approvals for refills on maintenance medications. When I call for any problem, I am usually on hold for a half hour or longer, before someone picks up, and then they often can't help me without transfering the call somewhere else with another hold. They won't send me text messages or emails or leave messages with any detail whatsover, so they make me call them back every time and sometimes the person who wanted me to call back is not available amd nobody else can help. The specialists don't know about each other - they only deal with their specialty and will not talk to each other directly- only through orders, so Coordination is slow and difficult. The worst office is urology on college ave. They never answer there phone, so your only option is to play phone tag with them, or drive over to their office. Appointments at all the offices are difficult to get within about 2 weeks. Even the emergency room and prompt care make you wait for a long time before you are seen. They aren't willing to help you with discomfort until you are Completely checked out by doctors whichay not be available for hours ( although I have heard them chit chatting in backrooms while patients are suffering in the waiting room). There is no sense of urgency there - they seem to work at a pretty casual pace.

The provider continue to argue with me and told me then that he was the owner of the practice. And then I was accusing not only of him lying, but also his wife, who is supposedly the nurse or medical assistant. The state license is registered with FRANK SEIPP. All I requested is for the medical part of the appointment and I was told I would need to pay for a new appointment. THIS WAS THE REASON I MADE THE APPOINTMENT IN THE FIRST PLACE!!

I decided to just walk in and see what I could do as far as being seen or have to make an appt. Every staff member I met today, was kind and caring. They went above and beyond to get me seen the same day. They were compassionate in seeing I needed their help. I met with a nurse Becky to tell her what was going on and not one person rushed me through a visit. She was so nice and genuine. The Dr's Marty and Chris were extremely helpful, took their time. I didn't feel like another number to them, instead they thanked me for coming in and getting help several times. I will definitely be back and highly recommend this clinic

My sister, a nurse, took her into the ER and our followup included a visit with the wound care team, specifically Shelby, RN and Teresa, PA. When we went in, the wound looked bad-they took good care of her, abraded the wound, Teresa even took the time while we were in there to talk with my sister on the phone about what they were doing and what had been done previously. We arrived late-it took me 45 minutes to get my mother out the door and they couldn't have been more gracious or helpful.

The referall call center will also likely take a week or more to get you to a doctor because they don't check your insurance properly. It's a useless middle step that adds nothing. People are friendly though. In short, if you live here you have very few choices and the people here are friendly.

The check-in process was excellent--I was registered and placed in an exam room before I could even finish my paperwork. I first explained my symptoms, injuries, and what caused them to the physician assistant. A few minutes later, Dr. Campbell entered and asked me to repeat everything I had just explained. After listening to my account, I was stunned when Dr. Campbell told me she would not document how or where my injuries occurred in my medical record. I repeated her statement back to make sure I understood correctly, genuinely surprised by what I was hearing. When I asked if she considered my explanation to be hearsay, she answered, "Yes." I was taken aback. Before leaving, I asked one final question: "Do you think I'm lying to you?" She did not respond, which only added to my disbelief. For context, I had recently been arrested following a minor physical altercation, and I believe my injuries occurred while I was in the custody of Springfield law enforcement and the Sangamon County Sheriff's Office. Regardless of the circumstances, I expected my physician to accurately document the history I provided, even if it was clearly identified as my reported account. Instead, I left shocked that such a critical part of my medical history was dismissed outright rather than recorded. While the staff was prompt and courteous at first, my interaction with Dr. Campbell left me with the firm belief that Springfield Clinic Urgent Care medical professionals do not care about disabled veterans. They also banned me from ever returning because I asked to speak to someone about Dr Campbell's overt disrespect while saying I've never experienced such disrespect like that as a military veteran.

I started crying and asked her to stop saying this as she repeated this three times. Finally I just hung up. Doctor refused to continue care for me after ten years because he said I verbally abused her on the phone. I repeat, she called me to pick on me for the medicine I was taking for chronic illness. Funny thing is, Dr Phillips never even prescribed the medication she spoke of. She was mad because he had prescribed Tylenol 3 for a displaced fracture of a toe that wasn't healing. The other medication she was upset about was prescribed by neurology for my chronic myasthenia gravis.muscle disease. She said I was part of the epidemic of pain pill abuse! What??? He prescribed pain meds for a fracture. This just broke my spirit and my fight to get better. Thanks !!! DrPhillips and his staff as well as Springfield Clinic for doing this to a loyal patient of over ten years who is fighting to have a better life. And the pain medication had only been prescribed for a few months due to an open fracture.
