Dr. Lambert took great care in examining my injured knee, withdrawing fluid (62cc), ordering an MRI, analyzing those results, providing expert diagnosis and providing a treatment plan. Couldn't be happier with the medical care and service. My knee is healing well and I am back to running - short segments - and I believe I will return to full abilities (for a guy 71! haha) in the next month or so. For a little background, a previous doctor at a different practice ordered an X-ray, did a brief examination, told me it was useless to drain the fluid, gave me a cortisone shot and told me I'd be lucky if that helped for 6 months and that he'd see me in 6 months to talk knee replacement. My running friends said, "Go see Dr. Lambert." As noted above, Dr. Lambert went the extra mile and the MRI results showed there was nothing torn - not MCL, not ACL, not meniscus - thus no surgery was required, but that I did come dangerously close to doing so and should slowly rehab my knee according to his tried-and-true Walk To Run Program and I should regain full use, range of motion and ability within a month or two. That's huge difference! Huge! If you're a runner, you know.

From the first phone call to make an appointment, to my second follow up appointment with Dr. Babbington, I am satisfied. My first appointment was scheduled as soon as possible, after sharing my backstory and what I was looking for. When I arrived for my appointment, the receptionists were very friendly, and told me to check in on the tablet. A super convenient, easy way to check in, pay your copay and get your insurance on file. Once I met with Dr. Babbington, I knew I was in good hands. His expertise and passion for what he does made me feel confident that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. He went over my prior imagining, talked possibilities, scheduled an injection and a follow up, and made a game plan. On my follow up appointment, Dr. Babbington and I had to talk about the surgical options that I have to think about. Knowing one of them is tough to get covered by insurance, he said he will do whatever he can do to try and can get it covered, so that I can have the best possible procedure and a better future ahead. This isn't something I ever would have considered earlier in my life--not for any particular reason, I just wouldn't have done it. However, for the past four months, I have been working with Dennis Bueso, MA, RD (Clinical/Sports Dietitian), and the experience has been nothing like I expected. Being very overweight, I anticipated someone taking charge of the conversation and lecturing me on what I 'better' start doing. I think TV gave me a twisted idea of how these things go. Thankfully, it hasn't been like that at all. Our conversations are excellent and open. Mr. Bueso is incredibly 'chill' and immediately sets you at ease; it feels like a normal, back-and-forth conversation between two people. He is great at following up and is just a genuinely easy person to talk to. Since starting, I've seen amazing results. For those who know what A1C is, mine had been double what it should be for over five years. In just four months, I've brought it down to exactly where it's supposed to be. I give myself credit for controlling my diet, but Dennis has been instrumental in helping me understand what to watch and work on. In addition to the blood work, I've lost over 30 pounds in that same timeframe. I definitely want to give props and thanks to Mr. Bueso. If your doctor has recommended a dietitian, just do it. I worried about how it would go, but those worries were unnecessary. It has been a great experience. I am trying conservative measures first, which Dr. Manke offered; but was very plain with me; " you will eventually need surgery." My mother and father both had shoulder surgery and one did very well and one took 3-months to get better (because of severity of the shoulder). Dr. Manke, understood my concern and is working with my fear. I will be going back soon. People, don't play with a shoulder!!! I have to get my mind and body ready for this journey Phenomenal and Exceptional office team, I never call that I don't get help! Those ladies are all wonderful to me and I adore the health care team in the back! They are Phenomenal as well!!! The other thing I love about this location. They…read more& the new Brock Cancer Center are located on the southeast corner of Virginia Beach Boulevard & Kempsville Road. Both share a large parking garage. Entrance with a traffic light is located both on Virginia Beach Boulevard, which the buildings face, & Kempsville Road. The location is also easily accessible from I-264. The handicapped parking is extremely convenient & plentiful at the Leigh Orthopedic Surgery Center. The spaces face the entrance & continues around each side of the building. I've never had to park in the spaces that require a short walk. A covered circular drive thru is a convenient drop off point at the main entrance. No valet parking is available. I've had therapy at Sentara Hand Therapy & Sentara Therapy Center- Orthopedics & Sports Medicine. I've had MRI's at the Advanced Imaging Center. My Shoulder & Elbow Orthopedic Surgeon does outpatient surgery in the building. But my recent Elbow Surgery, although outpatient, was scheduled at the hospital itself. The practice requires anyone who has a Cardiologist to have surgery at the hospital, where emergency personnel are more easily accessible. My experience with both therapy & the MRIs has been excellent. The equipment & facility is state of the art in this excellent sparkling clean Medical Center. Technology is sophisticated, extending as far as doors being opened by a sensor activated by the wave of a palm. There are also hand sanitizer stations in plentiful supply in the building. He wasted no time in scheduling me for arthroscopic surgery and a manipulation when all other measures were unsuccessful. He is soft-spoken, kind and caring. If you are looking for a doctor that will actually "listen" to what you are saying and not just hear the words, this is the guy for you. My surgery was successful and three years later, it is as though I never had an injury. Dr. Nichols also treated my husband successfully for tendonitis. His office staff is not only professional and efficient, they are friendly. They have gone above and beyond the call of duty to help me when I needed it with my insurance company. They have taken calls from me and answered any and all questions that they were able without every making me feel they were rushing me. He was my second opinion when my shoulder was initially injured and my first choice when I had to make a decision and when I recommended him to others.
