After filling all the paper work and given them my insurance information i was completely covered and approved for 20 sessions. The staff is polite and friendly, but that is probably all i can say on the positive side. After the 20 sessions, i felt no improvement so i did not bother to contact insurance for more approved appointments. I moved out in 2019 to my own place, and was contacted by collections in 2023 (5 years later) for an unpaid $500 bill. Allegedly they had mailed multiple bills to my old address and it was never forwarded to me. I work for GM and at the time we had theramatrix as our insurance provider, but parted ways in 2021. Im not going to get in the details of the run around Optimal Rehab put me through to confirm with my old insurance that i had no out of pocket expenses or deductibles, but they basically wanted me to provide the EOB (explanation of benefits) to confirm this information. I was told by the owner if they were at fault for filing the insurance papers incorrectly, he would apologize million times over. One apology would have been sufficient, but after not hearing anything back from them in the last three weeks, i assume they have taken care of the matter on their end. Hopefully they do not try sending the $500 bill to collections again in 2028. Mind you, though my address had changed my phone number on file stayed the same the entire time but it is not their policy to call you in regards to a 5 year past due bill. My recommendation would be to go to Diversified Physical Therapy. They have way better techniques and equipment to help with your physical therapy. They also know how to properly enter in insurance information. If you do end up choosing Optimal Rehab though, triple check to make sure they are entering the correct information on each of your appointments so nothing similar happens to you. More importantly, hopefully whatever injury or soreness you are dealing with gets better wherever you end up seeking help.

I used the Doctors of Physical Therapy (DPT) location at 1235 S Center Rd in Burton, MI, from late…read moreFebruary until April 2018. My experience with them has not been good. This was my first experience with any physical therapy so I wasn't sure at first, but I just didn't feel I was progressing as much as I should have been. After those few weeks there, I left them and went to a new physical therapy facility, where I learned just how unhelpful DPT's work with me had been. I thought that was the end of my dealings with them. However, they recently (May 2019), sent me a bill stating I still owe them $443! I had not heard a word from them since I made what they said was my last copay payment in June 2018. By that time, I'd paid them a total of $570, which they told me covered all of my copayments and co-insurance. Since receiving this new bill, I've spent quite a bit of time on the phone with my insurance company and DPT's billing department at their main office in Illinois. They even wound up talking with each other while I was on the line. The final verdict is that the physical therapist I saw at DPT was not in my insurance's network until October 2018 - my last appt with her was 6 months before that in April 2018!! So what DPT had been telling me were copays were just their full prices, from what I understand. My insurance company told me they did not cover them, despite the fact that I was told by DPT the entire time I was their patient that my insurance was covering my visits - and even made to wait for appts "until further insurance authorizations" came through a couple of times. I feel completely lied to and swindled by this place. My advice: STAY AWAY!!! Go to a physical therapist who won't lie to get extra money out of you, while not correctly treating your problems. According to their billing department, I do owe this $443, it just "took them several months to figure it out." My options are to pay it or have it sent to collections...where it will show up against me on my credit report, which I've worked hard to bring up these past few years. Based on my experience with this company, I truly consider them to be cheats who take advantage of patients with little knowledge about physical therapy and billing with the insurance. This has been a very expensive lesson for me to learn to be less naive and trusting of what a medical facility says. From now on I'll know to double check with my insurance company every step of the way for any medical treatments.

I had given up after 3 years of having legs like elephants and my foot was 18 inches around. I had seen 2 other vein doctors and was told sorry we can't help you. I said ok, lets do this because you are my last hope. almost 2 years later my legs are back to normal, Lymphedema is under controlled. After 6 years trying to get knee replacements (bone on bone and in a wheelchair because I can't walk the knees are so bad) I have had 7 procedures and with each procedure things got better. The left leg was a struggle and just didn't want to go as good as the right, but we never gave up. Last procedure was done on Dec. 11th, 2025 and my left leg is back to normal now. Lymphedema will never go away but you can control it. I tried everything before I went to Integrated Vascular, Physical therapy, massages, compression boots, exercises, you name it and I got no relief. I can't thank the doctor and staff for all they have done for me. They have changed my life.

I was extremely pleased with both Dr. Shuster and his entire staff. They treated me as if making my legs better was their life's goal. They could not have been any more professional but also had a great sense of humor which helps to alleviate some of the apprehension a patient might have. They explained every step of the procedure and made sure I was comfortable and informed during the entire procedure. I don't know that you could get any better treatment from anyone or anywhere. Some patients may mistake Dr. Shuster's attitude as harsh (it isn't)but it is just that he is more concerned with your treatment and end results than he is winning any personality prizes. If you treat him with respect he will treat YOU with respect! IT's as simple as that!
