I'm 57 and never had to replace a screen. I dropped my phone, screen broke...had to do it. Such is life. They fixed it, more expensive than the franchise place but it was my choice...all good. 11 days later my screen is cracked...I didn't drop it, didn't put the phone in any condition or environment that was in any way out of the ordinary....genuinely...on my kids...no lie. Just as it was before being fixed, my phone resides on an Otter box. I am at a friend's house...I set my phone down...pick it up an hour or so later and it's cracked. Does something rub up against it? Probably...maybe. Can't be sure. But there was zero stress put on the back or front of the phone. It was in my pocket, in the car and in this person's house. When I came back and explained my situation, the best they could do was instead of paying the $188 I paid originally, I paid $150. On the one hand, I get it. The warranty not covering physical damage makes sense. People are nuts, people are irresponsible, etc. But I got zero vibe, feeling, sense that my take mattered. I didn't ask for it but was thinking...if I'm the business owner, maybe I throw in a scree protector at not charge. A minimal...coupla bucks investment in a customer that says on some small way...we get it...you just paid $188 for a replacement and 10 days later...inexplicably you're paying another $150....so...as a basic gesture of goodwill...here's the bare fu***ing minimum we can do to display some level of service...and nope. Just a transaction. Gimme a GD reason to pay more to shop local next time. Your shortsightedness cost you not just a customer but probably 8-10 customers if basic marketing principles hold. Shop local - please...for everything you can. Your dollar, when spent locally serves the business and your community 10x vs what comes from shopping at a chain. However...if you need a mobile phone repaired...there is no benefit to shopping local. Why? Because they know they have you. They know you are captive to your phone. Really. They're right. We are. No argument. Go to the behemoth. Go to the chain if you need your phone fixed. These guys are no better. They know you will do whatever to get your phone back. They clearly use inferior quality product. And I feel for them on some level...they are competing against massive volume that prices them out for many folks. Well, this is the rare occasion where the local place lost me. I won't say "don't shop here", etc...cause maybe my experience is just a one-off. And...also...F them. They had a shot at being decent and failed.

The service is nothing short of outstanding. From the moment I walked through the door, I was greeted with a warm, genuine welcome that instantly made me feel at ease. The staff is friendly, professional, and attentive, ensuring that every aspect of my visit was pleasant and hassle-free. What stands out the most is how knowledgeable the team is. Whether it's answering my dumb questions about the services offered or making thoughtful recommendations, they went above and beyond to ensure I felt well-informed and confident in my choices. It's clear that the team values customer satisfaction, and that dedication shines through in every interaction. The service here was top-notch, which left me with a great impression. Buying out of town with a broken phone and in a city like Jacksonville, where there were so many options to choose from, I am glad that I picked this spot. The exceptional service at this location makes it stand out as a go-to spot for anyone seeking quality care and attention if you happen to live in Jacksonville or just visiting and break your phone.

I say it isn't ready, but we don't know since he will not respond to calls or texts. He did fix my phone screen and the turn around was fast; however, the work on 2 laptops belonging to my husband hasn't worked out so well. We know he has been sick; however, we would just appreciate an acknowledgement that he still has one of our laptops and the charges have already been paid. He required full payment up front, so that is what we did. The work he did on my husband's first laptop cannot be "recognized" by the laptop, so $250 down the drain. Now we don't know the status of the second one he has had since January, but we paid $150 up front. Thus, the one star rating.

Thought it was odd, but my son didn't mind so whatever. Fast forward a month or two and the phone completely stops turning on. I have a professional background in repairing Apple devices so I decided to just fix it myself when I got the time. Well, I finally got a chance to open it up and as soon as I did, two tiny screws fell out. I assume those go to the home button assembly, as the assembly and home button are completely loose and the only thing holding that in is the frame of the phone. Less important but still notable - the frame was also missing one of the bottom screws. Upon further inspection, the battery cable was not completely attached which explains why it wouldn't turn on at all. It was also missing the plate that goes over the battery cable. I reconnected the battery completely and was able to get it to boot up but now it's stuck in a boot loop. I have never seen such sloppy work and can't believe they thought it appropriate to charge for such work. I feel extremely ripped off.

I called this location first and asked about the repair process and what I should expect since my phone's screen was scratched and the battery not lasting long. I was told that when they repair they screen, Samsung automatically has them replace the battery, screen, glass and some other components for every device. He said the repair would take an hour and they had the parts in stock. Fantastic! Yesterday my spouse and I, both of us work in physical/occupational therapy, brought our phone in to initiate the repair. The gentleman assisting us was told that each of our phones has the same issue, cracked/scratched screen and poor battery performance. We did not need to wait for our phones, and agreed to come back today after 1100 to pick up the phones. My spouse forgot his work ID, which was totally our fault, so we did drive back home to retrieve the ID and bring it back yesterday as this was required to begin the repair. We made arrangements for me to pick up both phones since I was not working today, which was also not a problem. Today I came in around 1300 to pick up the phone. My spouse's phone was repaired as expected, but I was disappointed to find that the screen on my phone hadn't been repaired. I mentioned this to the gentleman assisting me (Will) and he said that the ticket only had the battery listed for repair. I explained that this was not what I communicated when I dropped the phone off and ask how we fix this error (that was theirs). The staff member said he would call to see if they could authorize another repair and proceeded to the back and called someone (I could hear everything he was saying). Instead of saying that they made a mistake, he told whoever he was talking to (I later found out this was Samsung) that I was wanting another repair and they would not approve it. I explained to Will that I expected my phone to be repaired as communicated when dropped off, and their error should not result in additional cost to me. I asked if I could have the number for the regional manager or franchise owner, and Matt confirmed this was a franchise location but they were not allowed to give out the number. He suggested I call Samsung, and I assured him I would be filing complaints with the Better Business Bureau against both UBreakIFix and Samsung seeking a resolution. I also asked if I could leave my information so the franchise owner could call me back at his leisure. I left the store with my phone that was still not repaired, after calling first and then visiting this location 3 times already. (I later found out that Samsung is more likely to makes exceptions when it is the customer's fault.) I didn't want to have to come back, so I sat in my car and called their national customer service number to initiate my complaint and try to get the issue resolved before I left. I was on hold for quite some time, but after the customer service representative picked up and I started explaining what happened, Will approached my vehicle and said he could fix my screen. Great, but why the change of heart? (Will called me later and I found out that the franchise owner had approved the repair before corporate even contacted the store. It also important to note that Will was able to speak with the staff member who accepted our phones for repair and he confirmed that it was his understanding that screens and batteries were to be fixed on both phones.) The customer service person did come back on the line after an extended hold. She told me that she had been able to "review the footage" and saw that it wasn't explicitly communicated by either party what repair was needed (both my recollection and the staff member's recollection conflict with her assessment). She also made a point to say that I signed the nearly 2 feet long receipt which listed the repair and the terms and conditions. I've learned that customers here really need to read the receipt they are signing, no matter how long it takes, because you may have a battle on your hands if a mistake is made. This company must have lots of issues with customer complaints if my interaction with customer service is an indicator. Good companies use common sense to resolve issues, but this company uses recordings that are made of customers and feet long receipts with tiny print to try to deflect responsibility. Overall, I have to say that while in the store and speaking with corporate, I felt like I was the one being scrutinized. I initially rated this experience as 1 star. I have changed the rating based on a couple of things. Matt did call me later to follow-up, which was a positive gesture and a step towards earning my trust. What truly changed my experience, was when the franchise owner called me back and we were able to discuss the experience in detail. I feel like we both had similar expectations and perspectives, and that he cared.

BLUF (bottom line up front): STAY AWAY!…read more When I found this shop I was excited to find someone that was willing to work on my Sony HT-ST5000 sound bar (don't get one, but that's another story) so on June 21,2001, I brought it to Electronic Service Squad. The appearance of the shop is rough but looks like work gets done there. The lady at the front desk seems rough too but not hard to deal with. Long story short a month after dropping off the equipment I called to check on status. Nobody answered so I left a message. On July 31 the lady called to basically tell me "we're working on it. Don't call us, we'll call you." Today, six months later, I went there to tell them to not worry about it, don't fix it, I already replaced it. I also asked for a refund of the $29.99 diagnostic fee, as I think it is the least they could do after keeping me waiting for 7 months. I was told that it would've gone towards the repair but since they could not repair it, there was no refund. Based on my sample size of one, I cannot recommend this place for any real electronics repair work.

The TV had been there too long after it had been fixed and they got rid of it before I was able to pick it up. When I called about it I was screamed at on the phone and treated very disrespectfully. I was nearly in tears by the end of the conversation. In the end I wish I would have taken it somewhere else that wouldn't have thrown out my TV and has better overall customer service.
