Went in for a sonogram for possible gallstones. Started with making an appointment. I almost made a 3pm appointment but the call center attendant warned me to not make that appointment as I needed to fast and made sure to get me an appointment by 10am. I was very thankful for him not just recommending the first available appointment. The paperwork online was also very easy to upload and streamlined the check in process. When I got there for my appointment, they checked me in and I waited all of 5 minutes. Once being scanned, the techs were very friendly, professional, and made it feel like nap time for a tired mom. The only negative which I don't consider a true negative, was it was my techs first day on the job so there was a supervisor teaching her and it took longer than what I think a normal appointment would be. But better to train techs right than to not teach them and have bad service? read more

Great professional service. Comfortable MRI experience, CT scans and X-rays. Front desk people good too. Ease of appointment center, though, needs to be thru individual location not one stop. One stop people don't know equipment. For example. I wanted the larger size MRI machine and they told me that my chosen location had one. I had such a wonderful experience at Advanced Radiology that I felt compelled to share. I went in for a Dexa Scan and, at first glance, the waiting room was pretty packed. Normally that might feel overwhelming, but from the moment I walked in, the tone was completely different. I was greeted right away by a genuinely happy staff member who kindly directed me where to sign in. It immediately set a positive tone. Within just a few minutes, I was called up and welcomed by Amie, who was incredibly warm and professional. She apologized for the wait, which honestly didn't even feel like a wait at all. That level of thoughtfulness really stood out. Not long after, I was brought back by Taliyah--and I have to say, the positivity continued. She was fantastic. Professional, personable, and respectful, she took the time to answer all my questions and address my concerns. During the scan, she made me feel completely comfortable and at ease, which makes all the difference in a medical setting. What impressed me most was the overall environment. Every single staff member I encountered seemed genuinely happy and worked together seamlessly as a team. Every time she tries to make an appointment, they tell her she doesn't have insurance, it's the same issue. They can't figure out that Catherine and Cathy might be the same person, the B-day are the same, address is the same, phone number is the same, employer is the same, the husband is the same. They are stupid, rude, and won't take the time to FIX the issue when they find out it is they have her first name listed wrong, they just leave it the way it is. The employees at the Eldersburg location were super friendly. It was one of the locations you could get an appointment the fastest with.

I needed to schedule a PET/CT scan that is time sensitive due to upcoming surgery. The process requires prescreening by AR (410-918-3645). I provided the necessary info and waited and waited and waited. Numerous telephone calls to check status. In the end, I had to retrieve my own medical records and lab work to get AR to submit for insurance approval. Here it is, 3 weeks later, 8 follow up phone calls,and still no appointment. Though the staff was polite and professional, there is no excuse for dropping the ball on a procedure that is necessary and recommended for immediate surgery. read more

Their billing department is a absolute disaster. I had to wait almost a year for a refund of 300 dollars because I had 2 insurance companies and they only billed the first. I told them repeatedly that if they delayed any longer on filing my claims they would not be paid because of the deadline they would miss. Long story short I also noticed when I did make a payment at time of service it was not posted on my billing statement. Please be careful when you pay them that you document everything. Shoutout to our local community heroes! The staff is friendly and efficient. It was easy to make an appointment on the phone, find a location who has the test I need, the service call with confirmations and makes sure you understand how to prepare for your test. They try to make you feel comfortable and knowledgeable. They were not even bothered by me calling back with more questions. Today I was in the skilled hands of Jessica. Not only is she great at her skills, she is also a beautiful soul. She is excellent at starting an IV. I was so thankful for this since I am usually a hard stick. Chronic dehydration and my veins are hard to get more than not. She explained each step and checked in often. She is a priceless treasure! However, you folks need to cut down on the number of emails and text messages you send once an exam has been ordered! Even after the appointment is confirmed and documents were immediately provided you still send the emails/text messages. Columbia practice. X-ray was done on potentially broken foot on a Friday said there was no doctor to read the x-ray. That I would get my results on Monday. Monday came still no results talk to them and said it could take 5 to 7 days. Are you kidding me? I have to wait five or seven days to find out if I have a broken foot. This applies to ALL Advanced Radiology locations. I have been going there for a couple of years for a mammogram and it has been fine. However, they have been taken over by another firm and these have been my issues the last two months: 1. The texts they send to routinely remind me to make a appointment contains a link to click on and make an appointment. IT DOESN'T WORK. 2. I received a text at 4:20 pm telling me my 8:30 am appt the next morning was cancelled. Since I am a teacher I had to find people to cover my classes and plan lessons that students can do independently. The text gave a phone number to call. IT WAS THE WRONG PHONE NUMBER. I looked up the correct phone number and spent 45 minutes with a representative who assured me at the end of the call that the appointment was fine and the text was an error. 3. At 7:55 am on the day of my 8:30 appt (needed to arrive at 8:15 am) I got a phone call that said I had a message - but no message. Driving 70 mph on 70 I had to find a phone number and call them (couldn't just call back). When I reached AR they wanted to know how they could help me!! I said they had called me! 15 minutes later (having reached the appointment) they said there was no radiologist and I needed to reschedule. I did - with Medstar Radiology. If they can't even make appointments properly why should I trust them with my life? read more

Absolutely awful customer experience, they physically touched me without my permission. If I was not high risk and I could go else where I would've walked out and never turned around. It's already a stressful situation and the staff there did an awful job at making this time less stressful. They continuously questioned why I was there even though I told them countless times to look at my paperwork and ask my care provider, then they continuously questioned them as well. I wish I had their names to mention them, this had to be one of my most positive medical experiences. Wish I could give them zero stars. I called for an appointment for my husband at the Dorsey Hall Drive locatio. I specifically stated it had to be an "OPEN MRI" due to him being a Vietnam veteran and could not be closed in. I was assured it was open. We arrived a half hour before his appointment as instructed. When he was taken back for the MRI I went with him and as they were getting ready to have him undress I said "This is an open MRI correct?" The technician said NO! We made an appointment to have a MRI and CT Scan for my husband but the day before the scheduled test they canceled due to "staffing shortages". The appointment was rescheduled for 3 weeks later & my husband went to the office the day before to confirm that everything was in order and they were ready to go, but the next day, 15 minutes before the appointment they called and canceled again and informed us that they did not have the proper equipment for one of the tests at all and had not realized this until days before the test in spite of telling my husband everything was good for his appointment the day before. We ended up having the MRI done there after I called and made a fuss, but this has been a very poor experience. read more

Came in for my annual mammo. It was my first time at this location and it will be my last. I had a feeling it wasn't going to go well when the tech called me from the lobby and didn't even look me in the eye. But ok. No big deal. She shows to the back to change into a gown. So glad they still use cloth gowns. On to the mammo. I am a large chested woman. F cup so I know the drill. They must get all of me into position and generally that is uncomfortable so I expect it. However what I do not expect is to be treated like an animal. The inconsiderate tech literally manhandled my breasts as if they were sacks of sugar. She was rough. I asked her to try to be gentle. She raised the mammo platform so high I was on tippy toes. I had to tell her that I wasn't THAT tall. Once your breasts are locked in you can't step back from it. She pulled and tugged so hard that she tore my skin under my breast. I noticed the bleeding when the torture was completed and I went to change back into my clothes. I WILL NEVER COME BACK TO THIS LOCATION for a mammo ever again. I did return for an MRI of the Cspine a few days later and had a decent experience. read more

Advanced Radiology's 2nd rate budget radiologist, aparently a new grad, which i guess is how they saved money, left out the muscle that I got the MRI for. Did not even state that the muscle was visualized, and had no findings. The whole of the muscle needed to be visualized. If there are no findings, they state that it was visualized, but with no findings. She did not even mention it. Surgeons office was overbooked and did not have time to look at the DVD and relied on the incompetent written report. I would give 0 stars if I could. I don't care if she went to school in another country because she could not get into school in the US, or that she is a new grad. This in unexcusable incompetence. And they will not provide a re-read, which I am entitled to legally. read more

I used to love this place, and then had 2 bad experiences in a row. The last was for a follow up to an abnormal mammogram. I called and was told my gyn's referral was received, and made an appointment. Appointments kept disappearing as I was trying to schedule, so we had to go through the process three times. I finally got an appointment for a month out. On the Friday before my Monday appt, I get an email that they don't have the referral? Wtf? Doctor's office sends it a second time, rep says they still don't have it, so my appointment is canceled. At that point, I'm not sure what to do, so I'm doing nothing. The biggest concern is the extensive wait time. I waited over an hour just to check in and I had a 9:00 appointment. The front desk was disorganized and couldn't keep up with people attempt to sign in for appointments. This caused every appointment to pushed back. I didn't get into my scheduled MRI until after 10:00. I would like to add, the tech who did my MRI was amazing. He was friendly, thoughtful and kind. Normally I would give four stars...staff is friendly. Good technology. Don't believe what they tell you regarding Covid protocol. You are told to text from your car when you arrive and they will text you when they are ready for you. Sounds good so far. I was there yesterday and today. Both days they texted they were ready. Yesterday, after going in, I had to wait in the waiting area almost 40 minutes before being taken back to an exam room. The waiting room had chairs that are about three feet apart. Facilities are always clean. Front desk staff is organized, polite & efficient. Techs are compassionate, communicative & competent. I appreciate this center because of its location l, available parking, friendly staff (who give eye contact) and the fact that it's not difficult to make an appointment. I will admit that a radiologist overlooked a comparative finding and I am competent enough in medicine to catch it in his report, escalate it to my doc and request a re-read/addendum. Honestly, it should have never happened as reports should be read in their totality and not targeted or containing omissions. That occurrence really did make me question the integrity of that radiologist and I've since requested that they never read my tests again. read more

Well, it's time to give this place the lowest possible rating for completely failing at keeping appointments. I had made an appointment a couple weeks prior. I chose a specific date and time slot based on my many other responsibilities, including other doctors' appointments, taking care of my son, and when my boss would let me take off from work. After arriving at the facility early and sitting for about 20 minutes, they call me up and begin to process me... but then interrupt to explain that my appointment will be 1 hour late. I told them that was acceptable, as this would conflict with other events. After seeing if they could see me on time and concluding they couldn't, a manager talked to me. They said they couldn't control when someone reacted poorly to an MRI. I asked why they didn't call me after the front desk admitted they'd known for 2 hours, instead of having me leave work a half-day early, losing pay, just to drive up there. All they would do is apologize and keep trying to reschedule me for times I could not make it. How about after work? I have to pick up my son every day. How about on Saturday? My wife works and I have to take care of the kids. How about in the evening? Oh, that might work... Oh, wait, sorry but the machine you need is closed at night. *head desk* So, I end up choosing to lose work again and schedule for the coming week. Well, the morning of the appointment I get a phone call... they have to reschedule me for some other time because the machine is down and won't be working for at least 24 hours. Nope, I'm done. Fool me once, shame on me... fool me twice, yeah. I complained to my doctor who referred me there, they're having a talk with the head of the company right now. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere. If your doctor recommends them, ask for a different choice. read more

Let me preface by saying this: the staff at the Columbia Advanced Radiology was very very helpful and friendly. The staff is the only reason for two stars, as I would give zero if it was based solely on the company itself. Unfortunately for the staff, the company itself has a MAJOR flaw- not allowing scheduling for x-rays. I was told on the phone I could not make an appointment for an X-ray because they were done quickly and were taken on a walk-in basis. I said okay, and took my 80-year old mother (who has advanced Alzheimer's disease) expecting the wait to be minimal. I was very wrong. We waited for over an hour while I dealt with my scared mother being in a place she had never been, hoping she wouldn't have a bathroom accident. She was scared, hot, confused, and frustrated. I don't mind waiting, but do not lie to me and tell me there will be no wait, or tell me over the phone when to come. Or- the best idea- BEGIN TAKING APPOINTMENTS FOR X-RAYS. Or, schedule at the same location rather than a scheduling service hundreds of miles away. I truly hope I never have the misfortune again of needing an X-ray at advanced radiology. read more

Went in for an ultrasound after my gynecologist found lumps under each armpit during a routine exam. My experience here was appalling. When I was first called back, the tech argued with me over why I was having this exam done, disagreed with it, and said I should really be having a mammogram before any kind of ultrasound. When I explained multiple times the reason for the exam, she got exasperated and said she would talk to the radiologist. She then came back and, clearly unhappy, said fine, they would do the exam. She then took me into a room, told me to take off my shirt and bra as she stood there waiting. Offered no gown, no privacy, once I was half naked on the table, I was given what seemed like an old rag that barely covered my breasts. She then proceeded to sigh repeatedly as she clicked through the ultrasound exam on both sides. Once she'd taken the images, she left to speak with the radiologist, came back, again clearly irritated, and (without me saying anything) angrily said, we can't tell you anything, you have to talk to your doctor. And then told me to clean up and get dressed, again while she stood there waiting. I've never felt so uncomfortable during an already stressful experience. This tech should not work in any kind of patient care position. read more

Original post: Do not go here unless you are ready to be ripped off. I asked, up front, what the cost was to be for two different tests. After being given the quote for the tests I decided that I could afford both tests, and had them done. However, when the bill came in they had almost doubled the fee. I would not have had the second test done as I know my budget. I am now in their internal collection for the extra fees that they charged me, and the lie that they told me. And I was adamant about checking on the cost. Now I am on hold (supposed to be for 4 minutes) 20 minutes later they get on the phone and proceed to hang up on me. So, I will write this review while I wait on hold again. Even when I was in the office to get my results it took an inordinate amount of time. Pretty bad experience here. Why have an appointment? I was there for a pregnancy ultrasound and was supposed to come with a full bladder. How are you going to make a pregnant woman with a full bladder wait almost an hour past her appointment time? My husband had to ask when was going to be my turn. The whole operation seemed disorganized. The ultrasound tech was friendly once we finally got back there. Thankfully my doctors office took over the rest of my ultrasounds. read more

I have had Mammographies, MRI's and Xray's multiple times over the last 25 years. I have always found the clerical staff diligent and helpful and the technicians considerate. I have never had a bad experience there. I have to give a hundred thumbs up to Dr. Fernandez for spotting my breast cancer when neither my gynecologist nor I could feel it. It was very small but growing moderately quickly and I'm sure if it had not been detected for another year I would not be writing this. Yea Dr. Fernandez - 9 years clear and counting!! Now, most doctors can access Advances portal so no more carrying shopping bags of films around or trying to remember where I put the CD. Another big +! Would never go anywhere else. read more

I have used Advanced Radiology a lot over the years as they have taken over the imaging service industry in my local Ann's work area in Howard County, MD. I have had Spinal Stenosis issues since I was 35 years old and have had a Total of 4 Major Lower Back Surgery's because of it. My Rating has gotten worse because I have had 2 MRI's over the last year, because I was having much more pain down my legs and I had to push myself with a cane or walking stick to just get around. So I went over a year ago, explained the problem I was having and the Doctor who read the MRI reported no change or anything that would cause my symptoms. 9 months later I had another one as I feared I would no longer be able to work as my legs were starting to not function anymore. I had another MRI and my Doctor reported a clean bill of health, so I asked if I could read this new report and I learned that the same Doctor read the MRI both times, and he didn't consider my explanation of pain and inability to walk, but rather compared it to the last image I had done, all before corrective surgery prior to these 2 MRI's. Why would any Doctor ignore the Symptoms a Patient has given??? So, the worst thing happened 2 weeks after my MRI, in that I was driving to Work and had my back jerk to the far right and I couldn't bend back up, while in excruciating pain, though fortunately I was still able to see to drive. If I had bent over to the left, it would have been ambulance time. So I get an emergency appointment with my Surgeon at St. Joseph Medical Center in Towson and along with my Wife driving me, we were able to take a copy of the MRI to Dr. Paul McAfee, who in 5 seconds found my L-3 Vertebrae totally clogged up, which my wife and I could easily see, and he told me a Surgery was needed ASAP. After my Surgery, I have a lot of pain due to my weight and the lack of muscle rigging to support my Nerves, which are easily irritated, but I am still working and all my numb areas are no longer numb. I give no Thanks to Advanced Radiology due to poor Doctor quality control which makes patients suffer. read more

I have had good service with the clinic at this location. However, their scheduling service continues to frustrate and disappoint. I was looking for a same day appointment for my son. I stated this up front. The person on the phone said "OK", then lead me through 10 minutes of information gathering. Finally I'm offered an appointment 3 days later. When I stated my frustration she said, "you don't have to take it". I took it, called American Radiology, scheduled with them and then cancelled Advanced. I really try to avoid Advanced as much as possible as this isn't the first time they've completely disregarded me. read more

Upon arrival, your first stop is Line Land. Line Land, where you have to text them to even be invited into the building, is a choose-your-own-adventure! You can choose to stand outside OR wait in your car! Expect your visit to Line Land to last at least an hour. After your time in Line Land is up, Madame Fussybritches will take your temperate, ask you questions, and scoff at how much she hates you for making you do her job! Unfortunately, this is where my experience ended as I was not interested in finding out what happens in the X-ray room. Medieval torture? Wipeout-style obstacle course? I have been a client here for a few decades. Overall the experience has been average. However, I was so favorably impressed during two recent visits it seemed a positive review was in order. The efficiency and professionalism of this branch is now a step above other medical offices. It was obvious that employees worked well together and are customer oriented. The MRI isn't an easy test for me and so many others who aren't comfortable in the "tube". Everyone there went out of their way to make things easier. When a schedule snafu arose, one employee tried not once but four times to remedy the problem and was ultimately successful. Great crew working here! read more
