My recent experience with Advanced Radiology Consultants has been extremely disappointing due to their current scheduling and insurance verification process. Before staff will even answer basic questions or assist with scheduling, callers are required to locate their insurance card and provide a verification reference number--every single time. This applies even if the patient has already been seen and the information is already on file. This policy creates an unnecessary barrier for patients and caregivers who are simply trying to coordinate medical care. Most healthcare offices maintain insurance information on file and update it when needed. Requiring patients to repeatedly produce the same details before even having a conversation is inefficient and not patient-centered. As someone coordinating care for a parent living with Parkinson's disease and significant mobility limitations, this process is especially problematic. When managing appointments for individuals with serious health conditions, the focus should be on facilitating care--not adding administrative obstacles just to speak with a staff member. With an aging population and increasing healthcare needs--particularly among baby boomers--systems like this will only create more frustration for patients and their families. I strongly encourage Advanced Radiology leadership to reevaluate this policy and implement a process that prioritizes accessibility, common sense, and patient care. I'd give them 0 stars if I could. They are impossible to get in touch with - specifically their billing department. I've tried calling multiple times and even email them as well. I've had a company named Eastern Accounts call me multiple times. I finally answered recently and they said they were calling on behalf of Advanced Radiology. They were asking me to verify my address. When I asked who they were/what kind of company they were, the woman responded saying, "I can't tell you that until you verify your address." I responded saying, "Well I don't feel comfortable doing that until you tell me who you are." The woman said, "Well you can Google us and then call us back." Once I Googled them, I see that they are a debt collector. I had an appointment with Advanced Radiology back in October, and realized I never received a bill for it. I've been trying to get in touch with someone from Advanced Radiology to confirm if there is a balance on my account, and if they could send me the bill. But I have not been able to get in touch with their billing department. I will never return back to Advanced Radiology. read more

Continuing problems using Advanced Radiology. Promised us a quick turnaround on wife's biopsy. Said 3-4 days was standard but they'd try for 2 days. 7 days later and no results yet. Their new patient system is called EPIC but it should be called EPIC FAIL as it clearly seems to be slowing staff down and hindering the provision of results to patients. read more

I was asked by my doctor to get an urgent ultrasound of my swollen knee for a possible DVT. I called the AR billing department to get an estimate of the cost. They were very helpful and transparent with the pricing. I was able to make an appointment for the very next day. When I showed up at the facility, the staff were very friendly and helpful, took all the COVID precautions while checking me in. The radiologist (Kate) was extremely professional, had great communications with me and was very patient, meticulous and thorough. She did an excellent job with the scanning and diagnosis. Front desk staff was very rude and pushy. Not like I chose to be here needing an x-ray anyway, but she did not make the experience any easier. She was very rushed and agitated because it was "getting close to her lunch time" and 5 patients had showed up. Hire a receptionist that's happier to deal with people since it's the first face you see and first person you deal with when you walk in. Also, I would have been 200% more comfortable if it was not just me (a female) and the male giving the X-ray in a closed room, since I had to change into a gown. He was very nice, but I would've at least liked to have been asked if I wanted a female in the room with us. read more

This location 1259 East Main Street, Stamford, CT is open, falsely reported closed. I called this facility on Thursday, April 23, 2020 to make an appointment, after my doctor sent over the script. The female who answered and screened my call insinuating I had Covid-19 was not only "RUDE and OBNOXIOUS," but not document, nor give my call or information to Michael, the X-Ray technician, then said, someone would call me and no one did. I called my doctor on late Friday, April 24th and let her know, my X-Ray wasn't scheduled after being screened by Advanced Radiology, I was concerned. She let me know everything was done, for the X-Ray, there shouldn't be a hold up. She would look into this on Monday. Late Monday, April 27th, I again called Advanced Radiology and found out, there was no record of my call, I was told the Site Manager would be informed and I should receive a call latest Tuesday 29th no later than 10:30 a.m. My doctor called me first thing Tuesday morning, and confirmed, there was no record of the call and said the technician would schedule my appointment. The appointment was scheduled for Thursday, April 30th, a week later. Upon my arrival, I was again treat with "UNPROFESSIONAL, RUDE and OBNOXIOUS" behavior. If you are going in to a medical facility, for a medical concern, anything less than courteous and professional behavior is unacceptable! My experience with the front desk was an awful experience. If I did not need the X-Ray and we were not living in Covid-19 threat, I would have gone some place else! Perhaps a bit weird to review an MRI provider, but these are important services, and the people have a right to know! In this case, they have a right to know just how fantastic this location of Advanced Radiology Consultants is! Obviously, no one WANTS to get an MRI. Is it fun. Hell no! I went to this location on two separate occasions, one of which was a Friday night. Major bummer. The receptionist was super friendly. There is ample parking, and the waiting room is pretty nice as far as waiting rooms go. Both techs who worked with me were great. I got to choose the music I wanted to listen to, and on my second time here they even let me download a podcast of my choice. The only complaint I have was that on the morning of my second appointment (a Sunday), they called to cancel 15 minutes before my appointment because the machine wasn't working. I didn't have a car at this time, so I was taking UBER, and when they called to cancel the appointment UBER was literally pulling into my driveway. I had to incur a cancellation fee of $10. When I spoke with a manager at the office, I was told they don't reimburse for things like that and that I should speak with my insurance. While I get that it's not a common thing for them to do, they didn't give me sufficient notice (I get that they couldn't), and could have made an exception here because of the circumstances. Services provided were definitely top notch and deserve 5 stars, but the whole transportation situation really left a bad taste in my mouth. read more
