The appt itself was good, Dr. Chada appeared to take me seriously, excellent bedside-manner. She ran a slew of tests which was great, the not-so-great part is it took about an hour for her office to send the orders for the draws. I had to go back over twice to see what the issues were, no one ever could say. Two tests came back with massive warnings on them and then I was blown off entirely and told that the tests did not mean anything. The comments on the tests were not sophisticated in nature and only appeared after a month when I said "WTF is up". Almost seemed more like office staff trying to cover up missing calling me. I was highly annoyed with the assumption of diabetes and high cholesterol, BTW all came back with flying colors (check Quest). I am overweight because I hurt literally from head-to-toe and I am under an insane amount of stress, not because I sit around and eat bon-bons all day, but thanks for perpetuating the myth. My main issue is that at the appt in August, DR. Chada diagnosed fibromyalgia and said she would send the diagnosis and recommended prescriptions to PCP, that was in August, it is now December and I have made multiple requests and guess what my PCP still does not have? Rheumatologists are in high demand because there are not many of them, my guess is if she diagnosis you with a rheumatological issue she is likely excellent, if it is too iffy (ie low results on tests) then she is not going to have time for you. I am giving her the benefit of the doubt on a comment she made in respect to "not a great gene pool to start from"; I have said the same myself, but it still did not sit well the way it was said, almost felt more like a comment on the fact that I appear entirely of European descent. I have been called a "ghost" in the past (look it up, it is derogatory) and the tone and posture came a bit too close to past incidents for my comfort. She would have gotten a great review, but the inability to get the records to my PCP dictates a bad score, just maybe this review will result in those results going over.

I wanted to leave an updated review because this practice is now under Dr. Maria Salinas, and my…read moreexperience with her was completely different from what I experienced before. I had been a patient under Dr. Alissa for about six years, and I was very disappointed with the care I received during that time. I rarely, if ever, actually saw the doctor. Almost every appointment was handled by a different PA, which meant I constantly had to re-explain my full medical history, diagnosis history, symptoms, and concerns. As someone diagnosed with lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, Raynaud's syndrome, and other related issues, that was extremely frustrating and exhausting. Many of my lupus-related concerns were also often referred out to other doctors instead of being fully addressed. When Dr. Maria Salinas took over the practice, I came in for an appointment because I was dealing with inflammation, pain, and lupus-related symptoms. I honestly planned on finding another rheumatologist, but after this visit, I completely changed my mind. I was actually seen by Dr. Salinas herself, and I was so grateful. She already had my history, took the time to discuss my conditions with me, listened to my concerns, and made me feel heard. One of the biggest things that stood out was that she took my past experience with methotrexate seriously. I had bad side effects from that medication when I was younger, and instead of dismissing that, she discussed another option with me, Leflunomide. Today is day five on the new medication, and this morning I noticed a real difference. Before starting it, it would usually take me at least two hours every morning just to get moving because of the stiffness and pain. Some mornings I could barely stand up straight, and the swelling, pain, and weakness in my hands made it hard to even hold my coffee cup. This morning, I woke up without that same stiffness and was able to hold my cup with no problem. Dr. Salinas was kind, patient, knowledgeable, and understanding. She also allowed me to openly discuss my concerns about how the practice was run before. She explained that she has plans to improve the practice, including hiring another rheumatologist and one PA to help with patients. Most importantly, she said patients will consistently see the same provider, whether that is Dr. Salinas, the new rheumatologist, or the PA. That alone means so much because one of the hardest parts of the previous practice was seeing a different PA almost every time. I believe many of the older negative reviews reflect how the practice was managed under Dr. Alissa, but now that Dr. Salinas has taken over, I truly feel hopeful about my care here. She made me feel seen, heard, and taken seriously, and I am absolutely staying with this rheumatologist. I am very thankful for Dr. Salinas and look forward to continuing my care with her.

Not only is Dr. McReynolds a Master at manipulating the bones but she also has extensive knowledge and training in nutritional health and supplements so she can speak to me about healing in ways that don't involve engineered drugs and side effects. I was in pretty severe pain from my lower back all the way down to the bottoms of my feet. The pain was impacting my ability to stand, walk and work out. After one visit for Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) with Dr. McReynolds, I found relief. I am always excited for my next session with her because I can actually feel the bone structure realigning. Dr. McReynolds was also able to help me tweak my diet to meet my weight loss goals, which is no small feat. Having my own wealth of knowledge about healthy eating and nutrition makes it difficult for most people to even understand what I'm talking about when I go into the dietary aspect of my life. Dr. McReynolds not only fully understands all these esoteric aspects of nutrition but she was able to guide me in the right direction to lose the stubborn weight. There is a spiritual element to healing with Dr. McReynolds. With my permission, Dr. McReynolds prays for a moment before each treatment she administers to me. I find this to be of the highest value when receiving medical treatment. I will see a D.O. as opposed to an M.D. for the rest of my life, thanks to Dr. McReynolds. One who can help me with any medical/health concerns and also address the issues relating to my bones, muscles and joints. I highly recommend seeing Dr. McReynolds to anyone at all, no matter what health challenges you face. I will continue to see her as long as I live in Austin, Texas and she is in practice.

I can't explain it, but I honestly began to feel better on the drive home from her office that day.The next morning I woke up and took my dogs for a walk in the morning and after dinner. I hadn't walked my dogs in months due to the pain. It's been 2-3 weeks since my first visit to Dr. McReynold's and in those weeks I have gotten my business back up and running as well as my household and my life. I have an occasional day here and there where I have some pain, but it's much less severe and it does go away after a while. I have also lost 2 lbs after being hopelessly stuck for years. I am eating healthier and my overall mood is so much improved. After years of suffering, I finally feel like I have my life back! I like several things about Dr. McReynolds. For me, she has prescribed food/nourishment instead of medication. The Green smoothies and supplements I am taking are helping to reduce the chronic inflammation I was suffering from. It has also helped me to lose weight. I also have a lot more energy. I sleep very well now and I can think clearly for the first time in months. This is a doctor that prays with you and for you and prescribes meditation. Dr. McReynolds also spent an expansive amount of time with me and asked me every possible question in order to diagnose and treat me. I did not at any time feel like I was being rushed like at most of the other doctors I had seen. I'm very grateful that I finally found someone who is dedicated to the wellness of my whole being.

About 6 years ago, I had a painful hip injury (I have Psoriatic RA). While I had received several steroid injections for previous injuries from him, this injury was bad. When I called his office, I requested an appointment ASAP for an injection. That same day, Dr Alissa called me personally, to schedule an after-hours injection. I was shocked that a doctor had personally called me and that he went out of his away to accommodate me. After his practice grew, he began to use P.A.'s, which I didn't mind as I found them very helpful. If I am having an issues, Dr. Alissa will talk to me. One of the PA's actually recommended a change in my medication that was very helpful. They are always very thorough and listen well. Occasionally, Dr Alisa will pop in just to say hello and to see that I have what need. Nurse Deborah is a doll and very personable. While the office staff is not the friendliest, they do their jobs well. Once, years ago, the staff had overlooked me as I sat in the waiting room. When I finally asked if I had been overlooked, they apologized profusely, especially Nurse Deborah. I appreciated the fact that they were accountable for their mistake and I feel that mistakes happen occassionally. However, they treated me royally for the rest of the year! Also, if you run out of medication absentmindedly, you should call the doctor's office and they will work with you to get your prescription filled. The staff denies filling the prescription from your pharmacy, if you have not been for your regular check-up. My pharmacy usually calls the office for a refill, but I usually follow up with the office to address the hold up.

When we called to cancel, they stated no problem and took care of it. A month later we went in for a separate issue, they made no mention of any cancellation fee from the previous appointment. We came in again for a follow up and they stated we owed money per their cancellation policy. First off, we had booked that appointment and cancelled all in under 12 hours with no clue of the fee. When we called to cancel, they said nothing of it. They stated the manager would remove it for us and we moved on. Came in for a final follow up only to be told we owed money again. When I told them we were told the manager would remove it, they said she said she tried calling us but we hung up and she called twice more. My wife never got a call or a voicemail from them. They then refused to allow us to take our current appointment unless we paid it, then stated the manager was off till Monday. The level of service provided was horrible and for a manager to lie about contacting us is just unacceptable. We spent thousands of dollars with this company, yet they are refusing us service over a freaking cancellation fee for something done in under 12 hours and no warning. To me this place just wants the cheap money and to take advantage of people. I highly recommend taking your money to CareNow which offers the same services but put the customer first.

Let me start by saying that I've known some excellent doctors, and have had a couple of…read moreearth-shatteringly bad experiences as well. Dr. Julie Reardon has surpassed my wildest expectations of what a family physician CAN--and is willing--to do. I think that's in part because she is a phenomenal physician and person, and I suppose the Harvard education and work with Dr. Andrew Weil doesn't hurt. I'll add that all of the folks in her office are equally as competent and caring. If you are contemplating a visit to Dr. Reardon, it's because you haven't been feeling as well as you should--probably for quite some time. Your insurance-covered doctor has run some general tests that haven't shown anything all that extraordinary; and while you may greatly respect your PCP as I do, you realize that time and budget constraints limit the ability to which they can explore your issues. You may have been told that it's your impending menopause, or your weight, or that you perhaps should consider antidepressants. This is the state of medicine in our current era of managed care, and it's nobody's fault. Sometimes it just IS. Know that, if you can afford her services, "Dr. Julie" will leave no stone unturned in helping you find that road to recovery. She's not one of those "vanity doctors" who will hand you creams, diets, and vitamins to make you ageless and extra hot...although feeling better usually makes you look better! She's a serious, science-based physician with an uncanny ability to relate the typically unrelated, and see the "big picture" of your health situation. In our initial visit, she caught on to trending issues I'd never thought of before, including a potential genetic makeup that leaves me prone to certain problems with mood and energy level that are exacerbated by stress...and I've had a year of that! She ran a gamut of tests after explaining the purpose of each one, and uncovered a problem so critical it was a wonder I even had the energy to get out of bed in the morning. I am no less impressed with our follow-up discussions. She has referred to another provider for an area outside of her realm, and also recommended simple vitamin and supplement changes that will do me a world of good. At the same time, she's not that earth-crunchy guru that's going to mandate that that you live on purified air and chants...hers are moderate lifestyle changes for real people living in our everyday world. Dr. Julie doesn't take insurance, but that allows her to spend true quality time with the patients who sign on with her. I will say that, for the fees involved, I feel like it's been a very good choice for my healthcare dollars. I am finally getting some solid answers as to why I've felt HORRIBLE over just this last year, and I finally feel confident knowing someone's got my back while I take steps to get better. I think there are a lot of docs out there who dream of having a practice like Dr. Julie's--and she has made that dream a reality. When I think about how quickly Dr. Julie started "cracking the case", and all the co-pays and labs past that never quite addressed my issue, I realize that I have now SAVED time and money in the long run. What's more...I could have gotten REALLY sick were it not for Dr. Julie and her findings. She very well might have saved my future from being...well, not so bright. Thinking about calling for an appointment with Dr. Julie Reardon? I say go for it...you will NOT regret it, and you have everything to gain.
