This company was servicing one of my neighbors and decided it was ok to park on my property without permission. In the process ran over the area where the water line feeds my home. If this is how a representative from this company treats other peoples property how would they treat yours? FYI, the company is a franchise so when I called the number they had to call around to see who it was and from what the person who called me back because I requested it they never figured out what franchise had parked in my yard. read more

First off, five stars for this team! They were able to inspect the day after I called them, and had the work done within 3-4 days. The whole team was friendly and professional, and the price was very reasonable compared to what I was expecting to spend. Sebastian was my appraiser and main point of contact and I believe Doug was the name of the tech who did most of the actual remediation work. For several months I had been trying to address persistent dampness and an unpleasant musty odor in my bedroom. I threw out old MDF furniture, steam cleaned my window, ran dehumidifiers, and washed endless wash loads, and nothing seemed to be fixing the moldy smell. Finally, I noticed a little mold in my closet drywall and experienced a bit of panic. Mold can be scary, and I was concerned for the health of my pets. I called many, MANY mold specialists in the area and nobody wanted to help. Either they were booked full, didn't do residential, only did attics, or seemed like they just didn't want to take a small job. One competitor went so far as to tell me I probably didn't have mold if the drywall wasn't wet to the touch, but they could take samples for $300 (haha!). Unfortunately, I'm very familiar with what mold looks and smells like and I needed it fixed, not slapped on agar plates. Once I called AdvantaClean of the Eastside, they were swiftly on the job. For my particular situation, there wasn't even a charge for the appraisal. I went ahead with the estimate, and it was an easy process on my end. Sebastian stayed in touch and made sure everything was running smooth. Doug showed me the moldy areas when he cut them out and identified a gap that turned out to be the likely source of the moisture (an electrical box for an external security light that wasn't caulked/foamed). To the company's credit, they reached out to me, both through Yelp and my email address, trying to make it up to me. I appreciate the effort. Hence the 3 stars for this rating. However, I don't remove any of my Yelp ratings, and I did specifically note in my previous review that my rating was not about their actual service. I don't write random bad reviews with no reason, so here's what I have to say--I scheduled the appointment about two weeks prior to the actual date. It's not like we just sit around and wait for the appointment to come. We have other things to do. We planned around to make sure we can make it to the 2pm appointment. It's not me, the tenant was there, my mom and her friend were there, all waiting. When nobody showed up, I called and asked, and all I got was a response that "they are not available today". No other explanation, no taking responsibility or owning up to the mistake she or whoever made. Now I don't know what really happened to the scheduling aspect of my appointment, whether it never showed, or it was marked as "cancelled". All I know is I made the appointment, and I did NOT cancel it. I don't know about your business, but I think scheduling is a very important part of it. I'd assume whoever does the scheduling should be good at it, it's her job after all! What would have made the situation better is if the girl admitted right there right then that she made a mistake. Maybe, just maybe, I would've rescheduled. Here's my other complaint. The appointment, or no appointment, took place on March 7. The company reached out to me over a month later. It takes someone over a month to look into a scheduling mistake???? Again, I appreciate the effort, but what's done is done. I paid $400 for someone else to come in and did an inspection. I Hired advantaclean 18 months ago to clean mold from my attic, After they finished with the restoration work and promised me everything is ok, i went up to the attic and found they left a big chunck of the old insulation full with MOLD. that of course defeats the purpose of maintaining a sterile environment. in addition they didn't put in enough insulation back. and i had to chase them in order to complete the job. that 's not worst part.. fast forward 18 months to today, i went up to the attic again and found the place is full with MOLD AGAIN. called advantaclean, they completely avoided taking any responsibility. they didn't bother to respond to my phone calls and i had to call and email every day for a almost two weeks just to get a final answer saying they are not accountable. their response was even worse, they claim it is a franchise and the specific branch was sold to another owner. if you use your name "advantaclean" to attract customers - guess what, you are accountable not just for the profits, also when things go wrong. After I lost days trying to fix wet, smelly carpet using rentable carpet cleaners and dryers, my insurance company brought in Advantaclean. WOW. They saved what carpet they could but mostly protected the house itself. Carpet, padding, tacks, baseboard: everything came out and the deep clean began. I've never had to use this kind of service before, thank goodness, but life happens and here I am! From the beginning, this company was so great. After being referred to them by my neighbor we decided to give them a shot and it was a great experience! They were out to out to our house in a matter of days and were super knowledgable. We needed our furnace and ceiling ducts cleaned and Modou went above and beyond what we expected. Not only did he clean the ducts thoroughly, showing us before & after pictures along the way, he also checked our crawlspace and attic for any signs of wear on the ducts as well as for mold/moisture. We recently bought a very old house and are in the process of remodeling it. One of the problems we found in the old house is that the attic is moldy and wet. We contacted different mold remediation companies and decided to hire Terry and his crew, because the information Terry provided is more professional than what other companies provided. The work was done well and they were quite pleasant when coming to my place to look at the problem and talk up their company. However, once they got the first 50%, the horrible experience began. Communication was poor, inconsistent, and reactive. I was not told when I could go back into my house (chemicals are not good to breath in, was told to stay out until told to go back in), I was not told why the drying machines were there longer then planned, I was not told when the project was completed and the company lost my keys. Also, I was told multiple times by multiple people, Jeremy and Jessica, I would be given an immediate call back. Guess what, I am still waiting for those call backs. If this is what you want for your experience, call AdvantaClean. UPDATE: 4/3/2014 Advantaclean did not leave a single voicemail. In fact, once I hired them, I needed to call five times before I was given a call back/response. Advantaclean picked the locksmith for my locks. Once I got the quote I attempted to call Advantaclean. They chose not to respond. Once I put a negative rating on yelp, I received multiple emails/yelp private messates from the owner asking me to removal the rating for their poor communication, customer service, and losing the keys to my home. The owner felt he did not deserve a one star rating. I wonder if this owner does the same thing when he gets a higher rating then he feels he deserves. read more

I called due to a leak in my basement during the heavy rain. I was comparing them to servpro on price. I used servpro in the past and liked them well enough but they were charging a ton to clean up. I called Advantaclean strictly based on yelp reviews. The lady that answered the phone was nice enough. She did tell me they had a fee for estimates. I asked her to waive it based on the fact that Servpro didn't charge and she put me through to Terry, the owner, who waived the fee. Fast Fwd to the date of the appointment, I was waiting for him while talking to another contractor and realized he didn't show. I called him and it seems we might have miscommunicated the time. No big deal. He still came down knowing that I had a tight time box. All in all, the job they did was great. The crew were great guys and I knew I could trust them. They ended up having to stay extra days just to make sure everything was dry as we were still trying to seal up the outside of the house. The cool thing was, they didn't charge me for it. They did have a few miss communication issues with my tenant, which is why they're only getting 4 out of 5 but I will say this, in the end, a team shows they're true colors in time of crisis. These guys really came through for me and stuck to their originally quoted price even though they could have easily charged me more for having to wait longer. I will definitely use them again. Terry, the owner is a great guy and will give it to you straight. Just be sure to firm up the times with them so you don't run into the scheduling issues we had. All in all, great job! read more

Yes it was mold, but he doesn't throw you into panic mode as he explains how to treat it, if to treat it, and the best way to move forward. I can't recommend working with AdvantaClean. We just had to request them out a 3rd time to fix their work. We hired them to do a full clean crawl of our basement. The rep, Meigon, has been great to work with and very responsive and helpful, but the work itself still has not been completed to an acceptable standard. Ours was a large, dirty job to clean out the basement, remove the old insulation and vapor barrier and install all new, but it was the job they signed on to do. The first time they were here the crew left behind a mess of old insulation, mouse droppings, etc and they did not fully install the vapor barrier. When I asked about it they said it was fine and not necessary for more barrier. Within a few days a large portion of the new insulation was falling off the ductwork from shoddy taping and I could see that they had used a bunch of old soiled insulation to wrap some of the ducts. Meigon had the crew come back out to redo the work and they cleaned up and retaped the ductwork. It's been a few months now but we just had to contact them to come back out a 3rd time because much of the tape is failing due to the strips not being long enough to hold the weight. read more

I started this project wanting to add more insulation in my attic. To my surprise i was told there was mold in the attic and it needed to be removed. Well, the first bid I received was wow! So I found Advantaclean. Talked to the owner and was very surprised when he showed up with his lead tech. I was real impressed with the scope of work they described needing to be done, the pictures of jobs they had done before and details as to what caused the problem an what had to be done to prevent it. I was told there would be three women coming out to do the work. Now I have worked in my attic and its no fun job so I am thinking how is this going to work. Well let me tell you, I have never seen three women so dedicated and hard working as these ladies. They put a lot of men to shame the way they tackled this job. It was not only the scope of the job but also the long hours and steady communication with me and among them as to what was going on. They referred me to others companies for the other work that had to be done and i was equally pleased with them; fast, neat, great work. I had an emergency, i found some discoloration in my attic ceilling the day before my home inspection, i called AdvantaClean told them my situation and immediately Terrry send in his A-Team....Jeremy checked my attic found the cause of the discoloration rightaway... I'm a general contractor and when I need to call a water remediation company it means that it has been a really bad day. The only other time I have called one, I felt like they took advantage of the situation and the inherent vulnerability I was in and charged us through the roof. Our second "opportunity" came a few weeks ago when one the weekend wind/rain storms we've had lately tore apart a tarp over the partially removed roof on one of my projects while the Owner was gone for the day and dripped/poured into the home for several hours. Damage was over two floors and included extensive hardwood floor damage, plaster, sheetrock and paint. I gave Terry/AdvantaClean a shot as he is a friend of one of my customers and I trusted the good things my customer had to say about him. I called Terry and he connected me to Suzi, his service manager. I then called Suzi, she said she would be out in an hour and she was. I was not on site when she came by as I had my own site Lead there to meet her. She went through it, gave me a quick estimate (which I approved) and then went to work immediately. The most important service they provided for us was that they saved the oak floors. They have a system where they essentially build a bubble around the flooring and then use blowers to cook the water out of the floor. It took a few days, I believe. Suzi also moisture tested all of the other walls/ceilings in the area and told us where we needed to demo and used fans to save the areas where they could. The level of service was great, so was the communication and the follow-thru. The preliminary estimate they gave us was $2500 to $3500. The final bill was $3000. The last time I went through this type of situation my bill was closer to $10,000. I hope I never have to call Terry again, but odds are we will get a jobsite wet again. And when that happens I feel very relived to have someone I can trust. read more

We had a mold buildup that got into the ceiling and walls from a leaky roof and these gentlemen came out and did a fantastic job in not only showing us the leaky roof but also pulling all the moldy insulation out so we could see where the damage was.They even removed a hugs wasp nest for us under the roof. Wonderful!!! Far exceeded my expectations. We had a major leak in master bath with floor to ceiling mold and a wet wall (hiding behind wallpaper and tile). The team didn't leave a speck of dust or debris on my hardwoods right outside the bath. The barrier and their practices of taking out debris were perfection. I am incredibly picky and I highly recommend Terry and his company. They had to demo a large area, remove all tile in shower, etc. The bath was left super clean and most importantly mold free and completely dry.
