I paid Linton $1,500 upfront to fix my engine. He told me the engines I provided didn't work but they came from a reputable 4-star company that's been in business over 10 years. My car was drivable when I brought it in. After he worked on it, it was left undrivable, with parts unplugged, engine bars removed, and key components missing. When I took it to another mechanic, I showed them the receipts and parts I had purchased for the repair. The new mechanic pointed out that some of the old parts were still on the car meaning the new parts I paid for were never installed. That raised serious concerns: Did Linton keep the new parts for personal use and just take the money? I asked for a refund, and he only gave back $400 despite doing no real work and leaving my car in worse condition. I lost $1,100 and had to pay another shop to replace my engine properly. As a teacher with no second income, this was financially and emotionally devastating. I trusted him because he worked in a shop but that trust was a costly mistake. Please get a second opinion if you've had work done by Linton or plan to. I'm now requesting the remaining $1,100 refund, which is more than fair considering the damage and dishonesty. Took in light truck with manifold-leak code; mentioned that heater control did not work and said I suspected vacuum leak (heater control moves via vacuum; bad hose there would also set off the code). Staff at Advantage changed mass-airflow sensor for 325.00, which was probably not needed and anyway did NOT fix heater problem; and code returned within 30 minutes. Took truck to another local shop who performed pressure-steam test, identified several vacuum leaks, replaced hoses for 150.00 including re-test and resetting computer. Code went away, truck passed inspection... and heater control works perfectly now. Would NOT recommend Advantage for car repairs. They do not listen to knowledgeable customers and apparently rely expensive guesses rather than actual testing of reported conditions. Either they are not knowledgeable or they are not ethical; but either way it's not a place I'll go again (and I wish they'd stop sending me discount cards). read more

Decided to try this place since I had my children use them for driving school. The first time we came here for the driving school it was reasonably priced. Unfortunately when I came for the second time the price was nearly double. (First Red Flag but I figured it had to do with inflation I should have just called around) Anywho dropped my car off for a window to be fixed they had my car for a few days before they called me and said they couldn't get the panel off to fix the window BUT my car did have an oil leak. (Already knew this and since this car sits and is not used because we have several other vehicles I didn't feel the need to have had it serviced for that anytime soon.) They did nothing for me actually but pulled a classic bait and switch - quoted a reasonable price when I dropped the car off for my original service, then called later with a much higher price for a completely different service (over a thousand dollars to attempt a few different fixes to see if that would stop the leak, meanwhile I would pay for each of these services they still had NO CLUE as to where the actual oil leak was!). Then when I said that I would take it to my mechanic they said ok that will be $285.44, this blew my mind and when I asked about it they said it was for engine cleaner ($15-$20 a bottle which I am pretty sure they get at wholesale prices in fact says on the receipt "job-supplies-misc: $21.28" quantity was 3 as shown on the receipt) and for the "service technician's time". I thought to myself I AM IN THE WRONG BUSINESS and I may need a career change lol needless to say I will never stray again (especially to this establishment) from my mechanic and will stick with him. On another note when I got there to pick up my vehicle there was a gentleman sitting in the waiting area who overheard my dilemma and said he was also having the same issue they quoted one price and then gave him another when it came time to fix his vehicle but he said unfortunately that was his only means of transportation so he had no choice since the car had been disabled. I'm new to the area and my husbands car broke down near his job and I needed a place to tow it to that was close to home and this was the spot. Everyone I dealt with was so helpful and nice, my husbands car was fixed properly and affordably and it feels great to have found a new mechanic close to home that I can trust. When the car was done they even sent someone to pick me up to get it. They totally know what they're doing over there and do a thorough job. Scott even texted me a few days later to see how everything was going with the car which I thought was really nice. Horrible customer service and damaged my property. They admitted they used a PEN to operate my keyless entry and the very first time I used it post their "services" it snapped into 3 pieces. Functioned perfectly fine for 8 years but 3 days in their shop and it's completely destroyed. No admission of guilt or even offer to help replace it. Pathetic. read more
