We worked with Advantage to build a rather unique project, a "Book of Vows". The book is to be used to write our wedding vows to one another, each year, as life changes. So it is incredibly special and sentimental to us. It is a custom stamped, leather bound piece, that incorporated some drawings we hand sketched. To say this was a custom project, is putting it mildly. Cassie and the team there, did a fantastic job. And the only reason we wouldn't give a 5* rating would be simply the cost (which is understandably high with such custom work) and a communication snag we had in misinterpreting some artwork. But what is truly remarkable is their willingness to press forward, resolve the issue, and leave us with the perfect finished product that we had hoped for. I worked with Advantage Book Binding to leather bind a novel for my wife on our 3rd Wedding Anniversary (Hallmark theme is leather). I sent Cassie a copy of the book and she had it bound per my requests which included gold lettering, hubbing, ribbon bookmark, and personal letter/cover page. The result was quite beautiful and my wife was ecstatic. Commissioning the book was more difficult than I had hoped, but Cassie was very good with responding to e-mail. I wish the website had more details regarding the options available on custom projects. It took a long time for me to understand all that was available to me and get the feeling there were more add-ons available that I never learned about. Also, this service is not cheap, and living in California made shipping extra expensive. That being said, the price was on par with other quotes that I had received. There was not a convenient method of electronic payment so I had to send checks through the mail. Ultimately the book was completed on time and the final product looks great. Though this service is expensive, it seems fair compared to other vendors. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is due to the difficulties with the design phase of the project. read more
