They were all very nice in the office and the doctors were nice as well. I did have a terrible problem with scheduling. Scheduling was a year out. Dental pain? Cancellation list it is. Somehow two of my appointments were dropped without my knowledge which pushed them out even further in the year. 12 months out for new patient exam. Requested to be put on urgent list to keep a filling from becoming a root canal. 8months into that wait, appt was canceled/moved 3 times. Once day of, once day before. Ended up being an extraction-no antibiotics prescribed, no bone graft to expidite healing. All but refused to check for dry socket and healing complications when I had concerns the following week. 3 months later their accompanying filling on another tooth is failing per my new dentist. I needed help with my dental insurance and what I still had for coverage. Liz was wonderful. She listened to my concerns and what I needed and told me she would call my insurance company. I was told by another dentist, an X-ray I had taken, would not be covered by my insurance. I had to pay for it. Liz showed me on paper, that it was covered by the insurance. She assured me she would find out, what all was available. I was relieved that someone would go to the trouble to help me. I can't speak any higher for Liz. If you are a new patient avoid the Corvallis office. Made an appointment in Dec. 2023 for Mar 2024. When I got there on the appointment time they told me it was cancelled, but they couldn't contact me because they put the phone number on the application wrong in their system. I had to rebook for June 12, but the kicker is they booked me for the exact same doctor. On June 11 I did get a call to tell me they were going to have to cancel this appointment and the earliest I could get in is next year. The odd thing was before they told me they were going to have to reschedule for the second time they asked me for my insurance info. Why ask for insurance info before they even know if I was going to reschedule? Maybe the fact that I didn't have insurance, & thus didn't have to worry about it running out at the end of the year gave them an opportunity to give me a booking time over 6 months away. read more

I scheduled my appointments for an exam and cleaning in July 2023 for March 2024 because they were that booked out which is no big deal. I found it weird that the exam and cleaning had to be scheduled on separate days. Fast forward to the day before my exam and they call me to cancel for a staffing shortage. Then I tried to reschedule and the first available isn't until late July 2024 for the exam and the cleaning won't happen until September 2024. read more

I am very disappointed with my experience with Advantage Dental in Corvallis. I waited almost 6 months to get an appointment, and then another 3 months to get my teeth cleaned. Then, when it is time for my appointment, they call me the day before to remind me, so I ensure that I am available. Then, the day of the appointment, they cancel and tell me I cannot get my teeth cleaned until May (another 7 months). I am guessing had I cancelled last minute with them, they would try and bill me. I called around and there are NUMEROUS dentists that can get me in. I booked with Willamette Dental and have an appointment WITH teeth cleaning in two weeks. read more

Also of the employees of these businesses I return to Advantage dental as I've never had a bad experience with them . And the last appointment I had a few days ago was no exception. Every time I go there the service gets better and better!The hygienist spend more time with me that I've ever had in my life- excellent knowledgeable and friendly. The dentist, Dr. Baker is brilliant. Everyone in the office, without exception, was born to do what they do go go go I promise you'll be over joyed. They even laughed at my dumb jokes! I had been going to my previous dentist for upwards to 30 years, it had became a situation of normalcy over pleasure to stay. Due to insurance juggling, I left Willamette Dental with a sprint and came to Advantage Dental on 2nd Street. By the time I got in, I knew I was due to be moving out of state, but the staff were so spectacular I really wish I didn't have to. I've never even so warmly greeted at a dentist office before. When I got my cleaning done, which took another appointment, the woman who performed it was so kind and thorough. She listened to my concerns regarding past trauma from a dental hygienist involving mental health of mine and was eager to learn about alternative methods for brushing and flossing (disposable pre-pasted brushes and flossers in your car, purse, bedside table, everywhere) and we spent quite some time talking about how mental health affects everything. Trauma = healed. Between the woman at the front desk who's been there forever and knows all the things, the dentist I saw first, and the woman I saw last, I can only hope I have such a great experience here too. read more

I have a near-phobia of dental work. I went for about 5 years after my last traumatic experience as a young person before I started seeing a dentist twice a year. I kept this habit for 5 years as I had a skilled and sympathetic dentist and support staff. However when I moved, I couldn't bring myself to start all over. Sadly, much too much time passed before I settled on this office. My first visit was a complete and thorough exam. It was quick, and efficient. Two worked together. I was impressed by the technology being used to map and tag my teeth. My second visit was a cleaning. The hygienist was pleasant but not talkative - just like I like. The cleaning was a bit painful, but I attribute that to the measures she had to take to bring me up to snuff. I sit and wait for my third and final appointment which is a filling. I have butterflies, but my experiences thus far give me confidence all will be okay. The offices are all clean and well appointed. Staff are courteous, but not chatty (which I consider a bonus). read more

Dr. Baker is the most empathetic and competent doctor I've ever worked with. I had an emergency root canal procedure that I needed done, and after calling around to all the different dentist offices in Corvallis/Albany, the quickest anyone could get in to see me was a week, and I just could not make it that long, and went to the ER for a dental block to at least make it the night. When Dr. Baker's office found out how serious it was, he made time to see me within 24 hours, and by the next day the procedure was done with. He even gave me his personal cell number in case I needed anything until our next appointment. read more

The front staff were pleasant, and the office seemed well equipped. They're part of some kind of weird state-wide group of offices and so they have really odd hours. They have times when there are technicians but no dentists, and then days of the week that they're closed, etc.. My big beef is scheduling. My wife & kids were going to this dentist and it was consistently a thing of being made to wait a silly amount of time between showing up, (on time), and being seen. All in all I was there for over 2 hours for a set of x-rays and an exam. The work they did took most of half hour, and I spent the rest of that time sitting in the chair doing... nothing. Just a total lack of respect for people's time. The funny thing is that the lady who helped me with my x-rays told me as much! That they over schedule on purpose. Then later, when I was going over the scheduling for some appointments, (which I later canceled because I'm switching dentists), The doctor himself told me that he works on as many as four patients at a time, though only two "columns" (patients) are scheduled at once. I'm a big baby when it comes to dental work avoid the dentist like the plague. I have had to drive there multiple times for scheduled appointments only to be told at the last minute that they changed their mind about what they were going to do, neglected to check with my insurance, an impression was 'damaged' in the mail,' or the thing I came in to pick up ended up not fitting and had to be done all over again. It is a long drive and time out of my day for nothing, and has happened several times. Each time the doctor is glib and unapologetic about it, almost as though he thinks it's funny. Is this harassment and abuse, or incompetence? Either way it is utterly disrespectful and shows a lack of compassion for their patients. Avoid this place if you can. read more

I enjoyed my visit very much, however, I don't think the receptionist should interact with patients in any capacity. She was quite rude and made it very awkward asking for an appointment and her attitude did not improve when I returned for said appointment. Her demeanor actually made me question showing up for the appointment at all. I was worried that the rest of the staff would be as awful as she is. Turned my partner away for being a few minutes late, even though we had called ahead to inform them. My partner had scheduled the appointment months in advance and due to traffic, we arrived late. The receptionist expressed no empathy for her situation, lectured her, begrudgingly rescheduled her for half the normal appointment time 10 days later, and sent her home. I came home only to find her in tears, blaming herself profusely for something that's pretty trivial. And that's coming from someone who used to schedule appointments for a living. I'm very disappointed. I understand that patients are expected to honor their appointments, but these things happen, and it's never appropriate to be cruel to a patron. i would not recommend any one go to this clinic i was treated very poorly they dont care if your in pain i had a tooth pulled witch led to a dry socket i called a few days later and the dentist wasnt there they had no back up dentist to help with the severe pain i had from a dry socket i had to wait a week to get back in to see him and i was running late and they just said oh well instead of fixing the problem the staff there is extremely rude and if you have ever had a dry socket it is impossible to get pain relief with out treatment and they would not give the nitrous to help ease my anxiety so if you hate needles DO NOT GOT TO THIS DENTAL CLINIC BECAUSE THEY FLAT OUT DO NOT CARE IF YOUR IN PAIN. read more

I scheduled a check up through their awful online phone maze at 8 am one morning. I arrived at 8 am and the office was not open although I could see people at the front desk. When I was let into the office, I filled out paperwork and was called back. They took x-rays and I saw the doctor briefly and then I was told I could leave. Apparently this is a place that schedules cleaning and check ups separately. Perhaps this is a common thing but I had never heard of it and it is definitely an inefficient use of patients' time. It took two calls on hold to talk with a representative, the first 20 minutes before a disconnect, the second, took a bit over an hour. If I could give no stars I would. DO NOT go to Advantage Dental in Albany! My son had some dental work to complete, he is 5 btw. I called to see if he would have breakfast since they were using laughing gas on him and didn't want him to get sick. The lady on the phone says it fine. I get there and ask again what the procedure is, they tell me. I wanted to confirm they were using laughing gas. The office MANAGER tells me 'no this doctor doesn't use it but let's give him a chance, he's good with kids'. I tell her I'm not comfortable with that. She proceeds to tell me (in front of my child) I AM putting more fear into him by being concerned. I came unglued. I told her he's my child and it's my decision what I will subject him to, and she can disagree but it's not her decision. Needless to say I will NOT being returning and a complaint has been filed with their head office. read more

As someone with a great amount of bad experiences with dentists, I can't recommend them enough. The front staff are very personable and friendly, and the dentist and hygienist I've often had are warm and straightforward with their approach. The dentist understands my worries and doesn't belittle them as some have in the past, and let me make it clear, I'm not a whiner. He was honest about what needed improving, without being judgmental. He has done everything to help me create better dental habits, and when I go there I have noticeably less anxiety in our visits. read more
