I can't say enough nice things about the team at Jacobsen Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Jacobsen is so…read morekind, caring and understanding he goes above and beyond the typical standard for a pediatric dentist or any dentist for that matter! The generosity Dr. Jacobsen showed my son and I at our visit this week literally brought tears to my eyes. My son had to be sedated for his procedure and once Dr. Jacobsen got in his mouth there was WAY more work that needed to be done then we thought. I was feeling very overwhelmed about the cost and decided I needed to prioritize what needed to be done and only do the most important work to keep the cost down, but Dr. Jacobsen was more worried about the well being of my 7 year old son then he was about money and did ALL the work he needed at no extra charge. People rarely surprise me or impress me but Dr. Jacobsen showed my family genuine kindness and selflessness in a typically unkind world and I'm beyond grateful that people like him walk this earth!!

This dentist and it's staff could care less about your individual experience. When I spoke to the office the women on the line was rude and condescending. I would be surprised if this person ever took a customer service class in her life. She was not interested in hearing my perspective or offering any empathy whatsoever.

I love that as parents we can be right there every step of they way, which was not our experience at another establishment. They respect requests made by the parent. We went back to happy kids to see what the issue was, the dentist looked at it for one minute and said we needed to go to an endodontist as he may need a root canal and he can't do anything with a permanent tooth. We pay out of pocket and have paid happy kids almost $2000 at this point. Weeks later of my son being in pain we finally see the endodontist who says the tooth is alive and we need to go back to Happy Kids to resolve the issue. This time we see another dentist at Happy Kids who can tell the tooth is alive and gives us antibiotics to treat the POSSIBLE issue. It has been almost 2 months between the first appointment and this last appointment. It has been months of my son being in pain, going back and forth between dentists, additional money out of pocket when this could have been resolved if the dentist took the time on our visit in January. Edit: the antibiotics did not work and my son is still in pain.

Appointments are necessary. The front desk staff has always been welcoming, and on this day, we were warmly greeted by Salina who checked us in smoothly. We showed up 30 minutes early and were pleasantly surprised to be whisked back to get the checks going. The boys and I were also surprised to be greeted by a cute puppy named Pedrito. The puppy made the kiddos comfortable as they got their dental routine done. The over-the-chair TVs with many movie options are always a hit with the kids. Bel and Christina were awesome as they kept the boys comfortable while performing X-rays, cleaning, and checking their teeth. They provided me with valuable insights into what they were doing, what they saw, and how to improve the boy's cleaning routines. After the cleaning was done, Dr. Patty stopped by to do a more comprehensive check. Dr. Patty is easy-going, friendly, and works well with kids. My boys enjoy chatting with her. The visit is never over without the kids getting some customary goodie bags. There is an assortment of colored balloons, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and other items that sure left the boys with a smile on their faces. We enjoyed the visit and looking forward to the next one. I'd recommend this practice for parents with young ones.

After using this dentist since moving to Wilsonville for our kids, we'll never be back. My youngest…read moreis on the autism spectrum and so anything that is new or invasive is very challenging for him. On top of that, he has general texture issues. Given his challenges related to his autism, a dentist visit is usually him grinning and bearing it with strangers in his mouth. Which it is for most kids, but exacerbated by his disability. The dentist is well aware of his disability. Today we took him in for a routine cleaning and exam and learned that he'll need a few fillings. The dental hygienist was completely insensitive to his needs and generally seemed frustrated she had to deal with our son. He wasn't throwing a fit. He was tearing up because he was uncomfortable and the X-ray mouthpiece hurt and that when she was flossing him, she was being rough. Then, when the dentist delivered the results that he needed fillings, he did so in a way where he made it clear he did not want to maintain us as customers. Instead of saying "we don't feel like we can provide the level of care we believe your son needs, were referring you to the children's hospital...", he said he was not willing to provide the service so here's a referral. Understand, we're the first people to admit when our kids are being turds, because we don't want them to be a burden on anyone else. With that said, our son was a trooper today given how his autism can manifest in similar situations. The dentist and his staff acted in an insensitive manner and quite frankly not you expect from professionals dealing with a child with a disability. TL:DR- The dentist and his staff were rude and insensitive to our disabled child.

My children (ages 3yo and 20mos) had such a good time at the dentist, they didn't cry once!!! The office was decorated beautifully. It was almost like what you would see as a dream world for children. There was a train track wrapped around the office, on the walls. There is a doll house and pirate ship, in the middle of the waiting area, computers with kid-friendly games lining one wall, and a play kitchen along the back wall. My children automatically settled in which was a lifesaver for me, since I had to fill out the patient forms. Which you DON'T NEED to manually fill out anymore. They have fast patient check in which is all computer based! No more hand cramps!! :-) After checking in we were greeted by Dr. James' assistant. She brought us to the back where the kids got to pick out their toothbrushes. (Amazingly these weren't the cheap ones with the gold lettering on it... they were the same OralB ones that I buy at the store for my children.) We then took them to the dentist chair which was made perfect kid size by putting a little kids sofa chair on it. My toddler got to watch Cars on a monitor to help make him feel more comfortable. The staff amazed me with how patient and caring they were. They never once pushed either child to open their mouth or to do anything they weren't yet comfortable They would just try a different way, or move on to a different part of the exam and go back to that when they were ready. After their exams they got to take their "My First Dentist Visit" picture, which was printed off as a souvenir for me. Then the children were then led down the hall to the "prize room." They had wallets, bags, balls, stickers, coloring books, and many more cool toys. The kids each got to pick out a prize. The visit was amazing and I recommend them to everyone that is looking for a dentist for their children. You will NOT be disappointed!!
