Awesome staff in the ER. From the time I set foot in the hospital until the time I was discharged, they made me feel like family. Cindy from admitting was very friendly,TC the charge nurse got in a room right away during my blood pressure crisis. Ken my primary nurse had awesome IV skills. Kayla took over as my primary nurse and did a great job also. Dr Tobar took care of all my medical issues and was very thorough. They even made sure my fiancé was comfortable. To top it all I even got a visit from Elaine the ER manager making sure everyone was doing an exceptional job. I went to the ER here twice. They did a CT SCAN & said I had a small disc bludge. I still didn't feel well and went to another hospital and found out my disc herniation was the biggest they've seen and I ended up giving me emergency surgery the next day. Would never come here again cuz they put a banaid and they don't access the problem. read more

Date 1-31-23 Time 8:15 a.m. I come here every year for my monogram. They had me come to the emergency to get scanned . I greeted the kid sitting on a chair by saying " Good morning " He in returned said " You coming to ER " That's it ! No smile even. He handed me my sticker. Off i went. I think they could train these people on a little kindness .They have no idea what anyone is going through. A smile and hello would had been nice. 10 years ago I came in with kidney stones. they gave me pain killers and sent me home. 2 days later I had a temp of 105 and a severe kidney infection. Went to my primary doctor and was informed when I went to the Selma ER it was in my lab work but I was never informed or treated. Fast forward to this past week. My daughter went in due to bleeding in her 4th month of pregnancy. It was classified at a threatened miscarriage and she was sent home on bed rest afraid of losing her baby. Next morning still bleeding and we went to CRMC. Turns out she had a bacterial infection causing the bleeding. BABY WAS PERFECTLY FINE AND THE BLEEDING HAD ZERO TO DO WITH HER PREGNANCY!!! 2 missed diagnoses in my family....Will never set foot in that place again read more

Case manager Sarah was no help for getting my mom moved with medical out of state. Everyday they said she was better, but is not. I drove a3 hours to get her to Sacramento before our flight to Washington her blood pressure is 87/48. I was told she should be on oxygen and when Sarah discovered it was a two week wait all of a sudden she doesn't need it. Sarah wouldn't listen to our family needs even after I was on the all day the day before. I felt like she is paid commission for discharging people out. The nurse tried to help but rushed through the medication I had to look at what each was for the only person with empathy was Adrian. Thank for him. Hopefully they'll work as a patient advocate in the future not push them out the door read more

I've been to this hospital 3 times and my experience has always been negative. The doctors have NO compassion for the patients and they don't try to help you. In short " they DONT CARE"! ! They are the slowest and I mean sloooowest staff ever!!!!! No good at all to check and make sure what the issue is. This is for the emergency room. I've been to many through the years and this one is by far the fastest. I've sat in ERs bleeding and waiting for hours to see anyone. I think I waited for about 3 hours before finally getting stitches. By then my injury had almost just healed on its own! But this one is very different from the ERs I've been to in both Hanford and Fresno. They make sure you are seen within about 15-20 minutes of arrival, which is something I can't say about any other ER or urgent care I've ever been to! Isn't that how they all should be!? So I've been to the Selma ER twice in the last couple months for severe migraines. Migraines, for those of you lucky enough not to suffer from them, are severe, debilitating headaches that last for days and days at a time and leave you in agony. On both visits, I explained to the doctors that I get them all the time and I just need a shot. I got in, got my Demerol, and left a much much happier person! So hopefully you won't need to visit, but if you do, know that you'll have quick service and find caring, helpful doctors and nurses. read more

I went into hospital at 5:30am for my 7 year old son. It took forever for us to be seen! I don't mind the wait, however, a nurse Marisol was EXTREMELY rude! I always go to this hospital and never experienced such terrible experience!! She Did not get any of my son vitals when she called him back! Lied and told me his temperature was normal and she hadn't even taken it. Got his weight and didn't input it into system! Lied and said she had a critical patient walk in and forgot to do all my son stuff as if he wasn't important. The other patient she was referring to came in 30-45 minutes after me so she had plenty of time to log the information. && take my son vitals. Her name is Marisol. Another nurse Bethany came in on her shift! She took over my son weight AGAIN! Bethany start being rude and cutting me off and not letting me finish my sentences! Terrible and worst experience ever at a hospital. Marisol kept coming by saying smart remarks and budging in on my conversation!!! I was on the phone with my mom filling her in on what was going on and Marisol walked by and added her lil comments! Such a terrible nurse!! Her job is to help people but yet today she did the absolute opposite!!!! Made me feel like my son wasn't worth the attention!!! read more

I was told she would be ready to pick up by noon and now we are waiting for discharge papers. I went in post op surgery with severe abdominal pain and could not stop groaning. I was very nauseated not able to keep any meds, fluids or food down. They pulled me to the back the furthest room possible and one nurse asked me to be quiet he had other patients. They did not assess me or ask me what my pain was. They left the room until Dr finally came 45 min later did not apologize for the nurses behavior, instead had another nurse finally give me meds. I will not return, as a nurse myself if someone is groaning in pain, you should assess what is going on there must be some underlying issue or at least reassure then asked to be told to be kept quiet. They need to educate staff! Recommending CRMC!!! read more

I was sitting waiting and saw 3+ people come in and walk out immediately because of the way the lady in the front was being absolutely no help at all. And each time the lady would talk about the clients to her friends sitting down in the back with her. So unprofessional. If your ever in town and in a serious emergency try to avoid this hospital and take your needs elsewhere because this place is the most unorganized and disrespectful place. I had a bad case of swimmer's ear so I called them in the morning and they got me in that afternoon. They were awesome. The NP I saw was very knowledgeable and thorough, yet also very expedient. The office staff are very friendly and helpful as well. I've always had good experiences with Adventist both in Selma as well as my hometown of Kingsburg. They're awesome! read more

The nurses and doctors here are great people. Including nutrition dept. The lady in the front that takes the temperature isn't so friendly. Couple of years ago I ended up in Emergency then admitted to the Hospital for a few days due to a kidney infection. I emergency room doctors were great no complaints there but once admitted had to beg for everything, 2 days in there no one even asked if I wanted a sponge bath or a shower. My husband had to bring me some personal items because they did not have them available even my own meds. Food was okay for a hospital but they seem to always get my menu wrong plus being Diabetic most of the time meals came later then for regular patience. After I got home they did call a few days later to see how I was doing which was nice bad part she wanted to know about my experience like I told her no one bothered to ask if I wanted to take a shower, bad enough having to share a room yet the LVN's never seems to clean up the bathroom area nor did housekeeping bother.,had to beg for fresh water, Nasty, Nasty. My doctor in the hospital was one that has been there for awhile oh he was good but wanted to change some of my meds told him no way I'd talk to my own doctor about it once out of there. I asked a lot questions got half way decent answers but not good enough to let him change anything.Thank God 2 days later I was out of there, good for a local hospital but nothing to brag about, finally on the last night there they got me up to walk gee a little late don't ya think. RN's were good. I've had plenty of testing done there now those all went very well a lot of concern for the patience, (are you comfortable,this won't take long etc) waiting isn't bad their, normally get in right away so their outpatient service is very good just hope you don't have to be admitted there.. Now at one time when it was still Selma District Hospital service was top rated had major surgery there many times even for cancer couldn't have ask for better once it changed to Adventist Medical Center like every other hospital cuts had to be made unfortunately it reflects in patient services.Then to really finalize it all never got a bill from there and guess what got turned in for collections with an agency in Bakersfield had no idea there was even an additional bill this was during the time they were changing over, being a Bill Collector by profession never once got a bill from them, when I did fine out 4 years later took care of it immediately talked to there billing office and from what I found out when they switched they just sent all outstanding accounts straight to collections with out even sending a bill first. Wasn't happy with that one.Just added even more dis trust to some of there services. read more

Kudo's to the hospital staff for being friendly and courteous from the front desk, to the gift shop to the OB ward. Our grandson was recently born here. The staff took excellant care of the entire family. I've been in a lot of hospitals and none of recent memory offered the care this one does. read more

My toddler fell of the bed at 2am and hurt her arm and i immediately took her to the ER here after I called them to make sure they attended children (Valley Children's is too far of a drive alone with a hysterical baby). The lady on the phone was very understanding and informative! Upon arrival I was attended in 2 mins by the admission lady which got our information fast and easy. After admissions we took a seat and within 5 mins my baby's vitals and measurements were taken... the nurse was kind and careful with her making her feel calm...she even gave her stickers. The doctor was Dr. Shilling or something like that... he was very professional yet laid back to make the situation comfortable for all of us. My baby got her xrays to confirm her arm was fractured, given pain meds, and recieved a splint and more stickers right away. I was literally at the ER for about 1hr and was sent home very fast. Best ER service so far!! read more

This is for the ER. This morning at 12:30 on the way to the ER because my pregnant wife was having chest and back pain I called ahead to see if there is a wait time (Online if you google for hospitals near me it shows up and says to check for wait time on the website) to see if we can get it right away or it be better to head to a different ER. The lady that picked up when I asked if there was a wait time just said "we are not a restaurant we don't do wait times here". I then explained to her that my pregnant wife was in pain and I told her that I just need to know if there are anyone waiting and if we will see a doctor right away. The lady then decides to tell me that "sounds like your wife is going into labor we don't have a birthing unit you should go to Reedley or somewhere else with one". It's crazy at no point did I say she have contractions or that she is going into labor I just needed to know what the wait times was. The way this lady was acting sounded like she didn't want to help us at all and just wanted to go back and doing nothing. Honestly I recommend going to a different place that have staff that are willing to help. We ended up not even going here just from the how she acted in the phone. Reedley was definitely the choice they got us in quick and was very nice people that wanted to help. read more

I usually always go here for the er and thats because they see you fast. Most of the nurses and doctors are nice,prompt, and do there job right. However there have been a time or two when I got a doctor or nurse who didnt really listen to my concerns. I also would like to add that it is a better place than the reedley hospital. Someone said that since the switch from district to Adventist health it has gone down hill and I highly agree with that. It seems like they have become more run down. Not just the inside look of the hospital but the staff as well they dont look happy but hey thats just my observation. I have never been admitted here but my mom and my husband both have been. After my mom got out of surgery she was in so much pain she was practically screaming after words. And before that she was scheduled to have her surgery two days before but the nurse she got to prep her for surgery hit a vein wrong and caused her bp to go up way to high so they had to wait. My husband just had surgery there last august and I was very disappointed because the surgeon didnt come out and talk to me afterwards to let me know anything. I had to go find my husband on my own it was dishearting especially in a situation like that. You know when a loved one is in a vulnerable state like that you need to know how things are going, but nope I got nothing. So I am only giving this hospital 2 stars for the reasons here that I have mentioned. Hope this helps. read more

I had to go to the E.R. to get labs done. The floors looked dirty, the customer service was not good. I had to go to three different counters to get where I needed to be, I had been repeatedly pointed to the wrong registration desk. And why don't they enforce the posted signs and tell people to silence their cell phones? It was like sitting an an arcade, noisy, very uncomfortable and distracting. The wait time was also not reasonable..I hope I don't have to come back here, ever. read more

They are money hungry, the staff doesn't care and if you have been in this hospital even just more then once forget being treated any other way than scum on the bottom of their shoes. My close family member spent 8 hr in the waiting room in a chair, after breaking 3 bones and having a concussion. Not once did they get him a wheelchair The nurse in the waiting room who was supposed to be watching him was on her phone checking Facebook as he kept slumping over in chair going in and out of consciousness. I ran to the nurse to ask why she wasn't watching him, and all I got was I was watching him he's fine! With uncalled for attitude. They then told him to walk to the bathroom because the wheelchairs don't fit and left my friend. He asked for a nurse to help him as he felt was going to fall they laughed shut the door on him and he went down busting his lip open. Plz plz think about this hospital before you go. read more

My mother was admitted 3 times to the ER for the same complaint. The doctors could not find anything wrong with her they just gave her pain medication and sent her home. I finally sent her to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno where she was diagnosed with a kidney infection, kidney stones and pancreatitis. My mother is elderly so it was very hard on her. She spent a month at CRMC and is now in a nursing home. read more

No stars will be given. From walking in this building in Selma was horrific (ER room). There was painters tape holding the floor together. Someone had pee'd on a chair and it was not cleaned up. The TV was blasting on a Spanish channel which was annoying. Anyway, we were only there because a doctor had been recommended that works out of that medical facility. We will never go back. They are disorganized, have no bedside manner. The doctor is Ryan Utarnachitt and he didn't even talk to me after my husbands procedure. We will never go back to him either. The facility has a make shift waiting area which was a hospital room where the bed was removed and chairs was put in there. The place is dirty and had to wait forever when our appt was at 9:15. My husband was wide awake after his procedure and from experience from 7 times before at KDDH, he should have been droggy. Im not so sure that anything was done to him. Anyway, terrible place and terrible doctor. DON'T GO THERE. read more
