During the "Summer Season", the outdoor pool will be opened to the Masses. There is a volleyball court, basket ball court, 2 tennis courts that is next to the playground. A Dog Park, Soccer Field or Baseball or Softball Field, several shelters where you can rent for picnics what nots etc etc. 2 Shelters has several BBQ Pits. ALOT of shady trees surround the Playground section of this Park. Ample of seating areas aka benches with tables attached. Ample parking spaces available. All in all a decent park to spend time with families or friends. Both Hubs and I like to go to this park during the Weekends in the Mornings. The recent visit was on Sunday October 27th 2013. It quiet yet spacious just to walk along the park, thru the park, have your kids play at the playground etc etc.. With her passenger van and canoe trailer, she made the entire process of getting in and out of the river a breeze. Lauren did a great job training everyone learn how to properly handle their canoe and leading us down the river. While the trees hadn't quite started springing out leaves, the birds were plentiful and easy to see in the various roosting areas that we passed by in our canoes. There was even a herd of cattle that crossed the river in front of us. We stopped for lunch along the way to relax and enjoy the scenery. Lauren made the entire day fun and we really enjoyed the entire experience.

Clear and clean water…read more Great place to enjoy paddle boarding, fishing, biking, running, or just hanging with love ones. Each loop around the reservoir is 8 miles! That's great for bikers and runners. If that's not your jam, rent paddle boards to get out on the water. Better yet, taking it easy sitting on the sandy beach to take in the sun and weather.

My recent walk with my pup allowed us a peaceful day and we spotted a hawk, many (very many!) gulls and even a Pronghorn family. Nature is beautiful here at the res. Once again, the restrooms and children's play area are undergoing a few minor improvements. While these areas are closed, the rest of the park is open. Note that the parks pass does not allow entry to the reservoir. Visitors can purchase day passes, paying by check, credit card or Apple Pay are accepted.

Dr. Rox was fantastic. Both my wife and I are teachers, and so we loved how academic the hike was as Dr. Rox would pause and explain the rock cycle, tectonic movement, or the birth of the Rocky Mountains. We were also delighted that our two teenage sons asked a bunch of questions and were obviously engaged in, not only the Geology lesson, but also the local flora and fauna. Dr. Rox answered every question, and, when she didn't know the name of a plant, she pulled out a trusty book and looked it up. She kept things light, but we definitely learned a lot as well. When we reached the end of the hike where the zeolite crystals had grown in the geodes, we climbed all over the rocks finding crystal after crystal. It was certainly an impressive site. We really loved both the scenery and our guide, and I would recommend this hike to anyone with any interested in geology. A big thanks to Dr. Rox for making our hike so fun and educational!

Rox provides context and explanation for a natural history of the beautiful sights of Colorado. Rox is also very organized and thoughtful, making sure we had water, snacks, and umbrellas. We got to look, touch, break, and collect all different kinds of rocks in a variety of gorgeous locations. It was fun to explore and engage in a tactile activity. In our modern world where so much of our lives are spent behind screens, this was a truly relaxing yet exciting activity and exploration tour in the outdoors. It was creative and fun. I felt like a kid again!

There were dozens of excellent photo opportunities, and we visited many of the parks most famous landmarks. We had the pleasure of seeing dozens of elk, mule deer, marmots, and even a pika! Sandwiches were provided for lunch, as well as plenty of water and snacks throughout the day. If you have a small group looking for a convenient way to see much of RMNP, I highly recommend Colorado Sightseer.

PRO TIP: try avoiding the most back row if you have long legs or any stress with mobility. Because once you sit there, the seat is assigned and you will have to deal with being cramped in a tighter space. And you basically are always the last one to get off. This was one of the biggest cons. Moving on, the tour itself was great. We stopped by a cafe on the way to and back, for food and bathroom breaks, and pretty soon, the van took us to the Rocky Mountain with beautiful views and even saw many wildlife - the big horn sheep, elk, deer (i think), and, not to forget, smaller animals like birds, mouse, and chipmunks, but no moose spotted. Nonetheless, the breathtaking view of the Rockies is certainly worth the journey. The guide was very knowledgeable about trees and shared many stories about the places and tips for visiting Denver in general! She also took us to a few Native American owed stores that featured indigenous art that were very cool to see. One thing to note is that I think the Colorado Sightseer, the tour company, had listed at least two slightly different itineraries, and I might have been sent to the one I did not pick. I noticed because I intentionally picked the tour with visits to two visitor centers, vs the one I went on only took us to Beaver Meadows. Not a big deal bc I did get still get my stamp, and the tour used most of the day's time efficiently by visiting many attractions. But this might be something you want to make sure if the stops matter a lot to you. Nonetheless, with a group tour, it is understandable and expected for the itinerary to potentially change. For instance, the day I went, the tour guide actually too us to visit places in different order to avoid crowds. Another thing to really appreciate is that the tour provided some snacks, extra gloves/beanies, which were really a lifesaver in the cold mountains. I know I was not fully prepared for it and so glad I could borrower some!

Their communication was excellent, and they kept the whole group engaged and comfortable throughout the tour. All three of them had awesome personalities and brought such great energy and vibes, which made the entire trip even more enjoyable. I'm already wanting to go back and bring my kids. Highly recommend this experience; it was fun, well-organized, and unforgettable thanks to such a great team!

To start off, when we arrived, we ended up waiting an extra 30 minutes because our tour guides were…read morerunning late. Keep in mind that we were instructed to arrive 30 minutes early, so in total we were standing around for about an hour. They had also called us the day before and asked if we could move our tour time from noon to 1 PM. Looking back, agreeing to that change seems like it just resulted in us waiting even longer. On the zip lines, you have to brake yourself by grabbing the line with one of the gloves they provide. The gloves were old, worn-out welding gloves. I had to exchange mine three different times because they all had holes in them. Even my final pair still had a hole, but I was told it was fine. The zip lines themselves were okay. There was supposed to be a drop at the end, but apparently it wasn't open for the season yet, so instead we were slowly lowered down. As for the scenery, I honestly wasn't very impressed. The views felt fairly average to me and looked like a typical desert landscape. Considering the price, I expected something a lot more memorable. I've done a cheaper zip line course in Virginia that I found more fun, with better views and a better overall experience. The cherry on top was being accused of smoking marijuana because of a supposed smell and "glossy eyes." I have never smoked in my life, so that accusation was pretty frustrating and left a bad impression on what was already a disappointing experience. Overall, I felt this experience was a complete waste of money. Between the delays, worn-out equipment, missing attractions, and the accusation from staff, I honestly wish I had never booked it in the first place.
