I have mixed feelings about this campground. Let's start with the positives. My kids had a great time riding their bikes, playing mini golf, and enjoying the playground. They also loved having the volleyball and basketball courts. Another huge plus was that I didn't get bitten by a single mosquito the entire trip, which was amazing. Food prices were also reasonable. Unfortunately, there were several issues that really affected our stay. We spent the day at Michigan's Adventure and returned to the campground around 10:30 p.m. Only then did we discover we were locked out of the campground. I was alone with my kids because my husband had gone back home for work. I called every emergency number posted at the check-in office multiple times, but no one answered. We waited in our car for about 30 minutes until a seasonal camper kindly let us in using their gate code. Had they not stopped to help, I have no idea how long we would have been waiting. I left multiple voicemails and never received a call back--not even the next day to ask if we had made it in safely. That was very disappointing. Another issue was the pools. They were extremely cold--too cold to comfortably enjoy. The hot tub was only warm, not hot, which is why I allowed my kids to sit in it with me for a few minutes. Staff came over and told us we had to get out because children weren't allowed. I understand and respect that rule, but it would have been nice if the regular pools had been warm enough to use. Finally, I specifically paid extra for a campsite because the website advertised it as having a concrete pad. I prefer concrete because it helps keep dirt out of the camper. When I asked about it in the office, I was told they don't have any sites with concrete pads. I explained that the website advertises them and charges more for those sites. Instead of addressing the issue, the employee responded, "Well, be thankful you don't have one because if you fall, you won't scrape your knees," and walked away. That response was unprofessional and dismissive. Overall, the campground has some great amenities for families, but the lack of emergency support, inaccurate campsite descriptions, cold pools, and poor customer service left us disappointed. read more

So me and my 2 friends went to the store to get snacks and drinks and stuff similar and my friend bought something for 5 dollars and 29 cents and he only had 5 dollar, this nice girl gave him 50 cent. He stood there for a few seconds and she didn't give him his change back, then my other friend went up to the desk and he asked about it and she lied about it and then she said he walked away immediately and I was watching him the whole time and he did NOT and then she slammed the coins on the counter and rolled her eyes at us and then we walked into the isle and she was staring me down. Also last time I was there I saw a mouse in the indoor pool and the staff didnt get it after we reported it to them. The staff could go fall off a cliff for all I care. Everything that my family and I did we got in trouble for but when other people did it they were fine? This is some BS! The indoor pool is old and dirty as hell! Plus it has carpet for some reason? Outdoor pool is also pretty bad, it isn't deep at all so your fun is very limited. the "water park" is decent at best, bathrooms and showers gross me the hell out and I don't trust it at all (why do the showers motion sensors? Weird) overall this park sucks if you are anything but white. read more

The crazy part is that I didn't even camp here! I was invited by a friend to use the day pass to the amenities with all of our kids, a few friends, and their kids. I was disappointed right from the moment we arrived. We pulled up to the guard shack and there was nobody there. We had no way of entering the grounds because we didn't know the code to the gate. A staff member appeared to be cleaning up the area around the playground right near the entrance. The vehicle in the front of the line at the guard shack beeped their horn several times over the course of several minutes in an attempt to get the staff members attention. The staff member eventually came over and asked what the problem was, the driver of the leading vehicle stated they wanted to purchase a day pass just like us, but had no way of entering the park. The staff member told the individual to enter their gate code that they were never issued. The driver made the staff member aware of the issue and instead of opening the gate and directing the vehicle to the main office for their needs, the staff member said they'd get someone else to come to the guard shack. I watched the staff member ride a golf cart to the main office, go inside briefly, and walk back outside before taking off in the golf cart again in the opposite direction. No joke, we waited 32 minutes in line at the guard shack to be let into the park, which has never been an issue at any other camp park we have been to. Worst part, we didn't even get let in by a staff member...another vehicle pulled into line behind us, waited with us a few minutes, then came to the guard shack and punched in their gate code for all of the vehicles in line, including myself and himself. Then...we went to the office and paid our way for a day pass. Online it says it's $15/each for a wrist band which I thought was steep before we even arrived, but then the lady in the office tried charging us for 2 extra people even though we told her the number of people in our group...luckily math is a strong suit of mine. She corrected the issue after I told her that her math wasn't mathing, but she seemed irritated that I had her correct it before I would pay. We went to the indoor locker rooms to get ourselves and the kids changed into swim attire and I was seriously grossed out by the entire indoor area (locker rooms, pool, sauna, etc.). It was very gross and that says a lot considering I believe my standards for cleanliness are low. We went outside to let the kids play in the outdoor water park area, which is a newer addition to the park in the past few years. It was nice but was quite literally the only amenity at the park that was worth participating in. The kids had fun for a few hours in the pools and on the slides, but eventually got stir crazy. Oh! And the staff members were constantly roving the water park area, which I thought was odd. Too, I left our belongings on a chair nearby the shallower pool, I went to participate in the waterslides with my kids for 5 minutes, I kept watch of our belongings as they were visible from the water slides and nobody else was in the fenced area of the shallow pool at the time aside from a roving staff member. When I returned to our belongings, my $250 pair of Costa sunglasses magically disappeared. My kids and I decided to leave but went back to the office to get ice cream first. While waiting for the staff member to put on gloves before scooping ice cream (which took her so long to do that I quite literally contemplated leaving and getting ice cream somewhere else), after she got the gloves on, she told me I had to pay at the opposite side of the counter at the front desk before she could scoop my ice cream...why couldn't she tell me that before I waited 5-7 mins watching her struggle to put on her gloves? Before leaving, I mentioned to the lady at the front desk that my sunglasses disappeared and I thought the staff member took them and explained why I thought that. Instead of asking the staff member for them, she told me she could check the lost and found for me while I "retraced my steps"...I laughed at her and told her this place was a joke. Then I left and went home, knowing I'd never waste my money here again. This place is overpriced and the staff members make it so difficult to enjoy it. I'm pretty sure they attempted to scam more money out of me and I'm positive my sunglasses were stolen by a different staff member. Crazy experience and I was only here for 4 hrs. read more

This place lowkey sucks. If i could give it a zero I would. I got yelled at while at my site to put my wrist band on. The beach is disgustingly gross, no one takes care of it. Mini golf sucks. Inside pool is nasty. Rude staff. Overpriced everything! And the people who camp here are terrible too. Loud and noisy neighbors. Rude neighbors too. Strict rules and basically no fun allowed. ( sorry for such a long review there is just so much that needs to be addressed) This place is so expensive yet is absolutely terrible. Don't get me wrong some of the staff are really good and I have known them for a very long time, yet mot of the staff do absolutely nothing all day. Some of the boys have leaks and start sinking but when you tell the staff it's always the same answer " oh I didn't know we'll work on that " yet here we are a year later and it's still not fixed. There is a water park and it's really not that bad except the pools are extremely cold and once you go down the slides enough it just gets boring. This year the water park wasn't open when they said it was supposed to be which is a common theme with this place, but this year they decided to lie and tell us that they won't open it unless it was 80 degrees outside then we came back and asked again and they came up with a different number it was 60 or 70 but the next weekend we came back and it was open yet the temperature wasn't 80. The indoor pool isn't bad I Just wish that they would clean it more not the pool but the floor and carpet as well as the bathrooms. They say they have a quiet time but people say up for as long as they want yet they do nothing about not to say we also don't do that but still they need to get it under control. One weekend the police showed up to one of the houses in the back and there were a ton of people surrounding the hose (campers I mean ) the police were trying to get the staff to stop them from going back there and yet the staff did nothing but put a message on social media when the could have easily taped the place off or put golf carts in the road. There are dance party's which aren't bad for new people but it gets old since it's every weekend. Inside the lodge there are 3 registers for staff that help people buy things and help them get normally there is not one person actually doing that and then there are 3 people standing in the corner talking or doing nothing. This place needs to get things under control and frankly needs a new manager who can actually do things rather than stand around and post on social media. Woods and waters was the old owner and they were so much better since they actually had some control on the place and didn't have leaky boats. read more

We visited adventure bound for the first time summer 2024 & wanted to love it so bad since it's close to home. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. Upon arrival, the guard shack had no guard & there were some camp packets hanging but nothing for us. We called the number posted & were told to "come to office." Having not been there we were clueless where the office was. Didn't see any signs. Ended up Finding our site as we knew the number. Got set up & then called again asking where the office was. We went mid week (Mon-Wed) & the park overall is just very rundown. Landscape overgrown, the beach is truly unusable from the green moss & goose poop. It was so bad! Mini golf course was free but badly needs attention. Water park had mold on it & kids complained the slides hurt their backs where the seems meet. For it being a new water park (end of 2022) -I was shocked at its condition. Overall we just felt dirty the entire time we were there. Sites are pure dirt & rather small. We were over as far as we could possibly be within our space and the neighbors sewer hookup was 2ft from our picnic table. Bathrooms were nice, food was just ok, ice cream was good. We did enjoy the "build-a-build" activity in the office & the train was super fun. (But beware the seats hold water for days & your butt will get wet). We brought bikes & there was some dirt hills in the back of the park that we had fun riding on. The playground up front is geared toward toddlers but is nice. Staff wasn't always the friendliest & golf cart rental was a bit pricy in my opinion but was nice to have. They do have an indoor pool area & motel. It felt dirty - we walked through but didn't swim. Water was cold & it was just odd as you could see inside everyone's motel. Very interesting environment. For the price there are much nicer parks in the area than this one. Sadly we don't plan to return. read more

This place is THE WORST. Absolute worst Campground I've ever seen and yet the most expensive. I am so angry and appalled at just how much this place was misrepresented, literally nothing is as they said. I would never and will never recommend this place. We joined my daughters family on July 12 and 13th. We were lucky enough to get a site next to them by swapping with another party. The office was very helpful in making that happen. There was one site that was up till 3:30 in the morning, making too much noise and the management handled that very professionally. There were plenty of activities for adults and kids that are part of site fee. They have a waterpark with two pools and a waterslide with multiple slides. The kids and I had a blast. read more

I give this place NO stars, but had to put 1 star to post review. I went to have a hot dog with my parents and son who is 9 and they wanted $20 just to eat dinner with them. I think not. Then they babysat my car and followed me until I left even though I told then I was going to make sure my son didn't need anything and then leave. The staff is rude and inconsiderate!!! I will never step foot there again. So disappointing being so close to home and we use to camp at woods and waters months at a time. read more

I would not recommend this campground. They police you for things they should not, yet they are extremely unsafe themselves. They yell at you for not wearing a bracelet. Get with the times. When you have a guard house people should not have to wear bracelets. There are so many nicer campgrounds in Michigan. read more

My family had a great time this past weekend as we do every time we stay. The staff and the weekend neighbors that we have are very polite. I do have a couple of complaints about some things that I observed thou and that is adults driving golf carts after dark with no lights and kids riding electric scooters and bicycles after dark with no lights. That should be a must after dark. The second is that camp sites were a bit too loud at 2 and 3 am. I could hear people 5 sites away Friday night. Other then that my family had a great time. Woods and Water was the best campground in our area back before it was sold to ABC, so much so that we decided to become a seasonal. We started off with the 2020 season at $2050 and it was difficult due to the pandemic but we still made the best of it and enjoyed our summer. 2021 season there was an increase to $2200, understandable since it was taken over by a corporation and we expected the price hike, still worth every penny. 2022 season there was yet again a price increase, this time to $2900. This made us really question moving forward but since they were bringing in a waterpark we decided to stick around to enjoy it. This past season was nothing but a disappointment, weekend after weekend. First we were told the waterpark would be done by Memorial Day....they had hardly broken ground....then 4th of July....nothing more than cement poured....now end of August....nothing. Now, the end of the season it's almost there but STILL not done. False advertising on their site, sure it's done in 2022 but not useable due to living in Michigan! Every weekend seemed to be the same, train rides...craft...hayride...dance party. It was like the movie Groundhogs Day. We decided early on that we wouldn't be returning for another season. Contracts go out and I didn't get ours until August 27th after our kids begged to give it another year. So I went and got the contract, was willing to pay another $700 increase when low and behold our site was given away before our decision deadline of September 6th! When confronted about the situation the manager said since I said on Facebook we weren't returning then that was her means to go against our contract. Mind you, she time and time again said ABC does not do business through social media. People are allowed to change their minds, that's why there are LEGAL deadlines. Needless to say we were told to not return since we called her out and embarrassed her in front of others in the office for her stupid decision. If you want to camp at a money pit place where management blames every mistake they make on corporate, dusty roads that are never brined, unkept beach, nasty mold filled pool area, rude security and staff, private Facebook page for seasonals run like a cult to complain about weekend campers, drunk loud campsites that nothing is done about at wee hours in the morning, tons of drunk golf cart operators flying around, and kids running wild then this is the campground for you!! read more

If you love dusty roads/dusty sites that leave your campers a mess, no quiet hour enforcement, dirty and moldy pool, no attention to landscaping or beach which makes this "resort" look awful, unprofessional management, overpriced store food, unfinished waterpark for over a year, high costs and no amenities to support it. If this sounds like a weekend to remember, book at Adventure Bound otherwise steer clear of this campground. I will never return to these grounds, don't let the pictures fool you. read more

If you're into over priced camping and extremely rude management staff this is definitely your place! Although they advertise fishing there is nowhere to fish. You can rent a row boat. But you would think if you already paid $500 to camp here for a weekend you could use a boat. But everything is extra. And they charge you $20.00 per day per person to visit. I would prefer to give them zero stars but I had to give them one. I will NEVER step foot in this crap hole again. If you are in to an over priced camping experience with rude staff this is your place. They advertise fishing as an activity but no area on shore dedicated for fishing. You have to rent a boat if you want to fish for a small fee. It seems everything here is an additional fee on top of the steep lot fees. There is a $20 per person per night fee for any extra adults. This is not mentioned anywhere on the website. My family and I will never return. read more

First of all I cant blame the heat and the tent worms on the campground staff. BUT I can blame the staff for being rude and not having our site saved that we had paid extra for. After twenty minutes of screwing around they finally got us put together somewhat close to what we had booked. Then find out about the millions of tent worms that you couldn't avoid. They tried to charge my grand daughter 20 dollars when she came in who was registered staying with us. No activities to be had anywhere. The prices have risen to an way out of line from when Woods and Waters owned 2 years ago.Even the ice cream prices were so far out it was unblieveable. They wont stay in business long I guarantee it. We will not be back. So disappointed .It was such a great place before Adventurebound bought it out. TO BAD. read more

Worst campground I have ever been too! The workers were so rude! Told me I had to pay to stay with my parents who I LIVE with because they assumed I was over 18. Never asked for my age or ID just assumed I was over 18 years old. It was $20 per person per night extra on top of the outrageous amount we had to pay for a camp site! We had been to this campground a few years ago when they were still Woods and Water, now that they have changed ownership it is awful. I do NOT recommend this place at all! Had one of the most disappointing, disheartening and disrespectful guest experiences of my life. Spending time with friends and family on a holiday weekend. We were told that the campground can't do their own fireworks because they could not get county approval. But the private residences on the lake would do their own if we'd like to view those. Half way though said show "security" came through and started clearing everyone from watching. Claiming minors had to be back at their sites by 10pm. The posted rules on the website and activity paperwork for the weekend clearly state 11pm unless accompanied by an adult. When "security" was asked about this they stated that their boss instructed them everyone had to be back at 10pm. "Security" stated that they were "paid to kick people's a$$es" and they would call the sheriff and have us arrested. We requested to talk to the manager it was ignored, she wouldn't be back to the campground till morning. We were told we'd all go to jail for drunk and disorderly. Funny. No alcohol was consumed. No one was drunk. No one was disorderly. Try explaining to kids why their parents would go to jail for sitting down and watching fireworks. Asking what they did wrong to not be able to watch the fireworks they're having to walk away from. If this is the approved behavior and leadership to be expected from management I can say I'll never step foot here again. read more

Disappointed in the campsites. There are some nice spacious sites but those seem to be occupied by seasonal sites. There are a few good size sites available for "weekenders" but unless you know what site to target you'll probably end up on a narrow site close to your neighbors. Beach and swimming areas are small. Once the water gets to 3' deep you can't go out any farther unless you want to swim in the weeds. Bathrooms were not clean or well maintained. Indoor pool looks old and floors are swampy (indoor carpet on most of the floors. Mini golf was in process of renovation. About half the holes are done. This place is expensive and they charge for everything. $20 per day for each visitor (couldn't find this little nugget of info on their website - would have been nice to know ahead of time). Golf cart rental $80 a day. Small ice cream $3. Might be one thing if this was a cheap campsite but prices are already on the high end. Will not back. read more
