For $50 a night and full hookup, I felt like this place was a great price.

I like that they collect trash twice a day, you just need to put trash out next to your site number. They light up the site number so it was very easy to find out site when we got back in the dark. No alcohol campground so in general, it isn't noisy or loud, just people enjoy their time. Easy in and out as one way around campground. Has lots of things to do for little kid, they have rotating weekly schedule. My toddler loves the playground & big sandbox. We ate some ice cream too as a night treat. I definitely want to be back next year. Just one small thing to keep in mind: as a T mobile user, all of us don't have any cell service. The only place they have wifi is the Cove, so we took turn to spend a short time there to use wifi to keep in touch with family at home. We are okay with no wifi but it is a bit difficult with no cell service.

You will hear the laughter and cheers as children play throughout the day! While the pool was definitively the favorite spot of our 6 year old, there really were so many things to do in this campground. There were plenty of staff members to make sure everything was running smoothly. We would rank this as one of the top 5 campgrounds that we have stayed at!

My friends and I planned on a weekend trip to nearby Flip City disc golf course 6 months ago, but…read moredue to a scheduling mixup earlier this week we were not able to camp on site there. At the last minute I found this campground and made my reservation over the phone with the owner Don. He was very helpful and booked us site 44 since we requested shade and an electric hookup. The campground is stunning! After a meandering drive in through the woods, the road opens up to the lake itself which is surrounded by campsites of all types and sizes. Check in was a breeze thanks to Sue and we easily found our site for the weekend. 44 has ample shade and a large area where we setup our tents next to a beach. We had a wonderful view of the sunsets every night and really cool-looking fog banks over the water early in the morning. Very relaxing campground. Our favorite part was swimming out at the sandbar and jumping off the floating wooden raft at the center of the lake. The campground is only a short 15 minute drive to nearby Shelby and Hart, MI. Muskegon is only about a half hour south. If you're a disc golfer, Flip City is only 15 minutes away and is one of the best courses in the U.S. we played three rounds this week and had some amazing meals at Big Hart Brewery in Hart, MI and The Brown Bear in Shelby. My friends and I will be staying at this campground every year for our Flip City weekend going forward. It's unique location on the lake, relaxing atmosphere, close proximity to local food and attractions, and the wonderful owners make this a gem in western Michigan.

The amenities are fantastic. The staff? That's another story…read more We had a large group camping together for the week across multiple sites. From night one, it felt like we had our own personal security detail. We were told to stop playing cornhole before 10pm because the bags made too much of a "thumping" sound. Mind you, we were on the back side of the campground with only our own group around us. The next night, the same employee told us he'd received complaints... only to admit he actually hadn't and was "just doing his job." By night three, neighboring campers had joined us, we played until midnight, and no one said a word. Either Ranger Rick took the night off, or the cornhole bags had been rehabilitated and were no longer considered a public safety threat. Meanwhile, other campers were out being loud, and kids were flying around on golf carts, but that didn't seem to warrant the same attention. Then came the adults-only pool hour. Staff stormed into the pool area yelling, "911! Everybody evacuate!" creating complete panic. We were told someone had called 911 because of us. Funny thing is...No police arrived. No ambulance arrived. No emergency responders arrived. If there had been a real emergency, yelling "911!" without any explanation would have created exactly the kind of chaos emergency responders try to avoid. When we simply asked to speak with the owner about how the situation was handled, we were instead threatened with eviction and told that we were using their pool like it was in our own backyard..... Essentially the owner arrived asking, "Who's being the problem and who is getting kicked out?" before asking what had actually happened. He gave us 30 minutes to pack multiple RVs, families, and equipment. At 10:30pm six golf carts rolled up like the FBI was serving a search warrant. Thankfully, after everyone calmed down and had an actual adult conversation, we were allowed to stay. Three members of our group were still asked to leave because during the chaos she expressed how inappropriate it was to create panic by yelling "911" over a non-emergency. Here's the thing: we have no problem following rules. We also have no problem with people enjoying their campsites. That's kind of the point of camping... We stopped playing cornhole when we were asked. We respected quiet hours and packed everything away by 10pm for the remainder of our stay. What we do have a problem with is inconsistent enforcement, intimidation, and staff sneaking around on golf carts with their lights off like they are part of some mafia.... Making paying guests feel like they're under surveillance instead of on vacation isn't exactly the welcoming atmosphere you'd hope for. In the end, we won't remember the amenities or the campsites (well, we will remember them being flooded by their nightly rainforest sprinkler systems- be sure to put everything away if you don't want it drenched). We'll remember adults being treated like children, kids who were afraid to walk around with fear of being seen, and staff who seemed far more interested in policing guests than welcoming them. If management ever puts as much effort into hospitality as they do surveillance, this place could be one of the best campgrounds to visit.

Later on we got yelled at for fishing past 10pm as a adult and said no one can be gone from their campsite past 10pm unless they're walking to a bathhouse but they let kids and idiots in golf carts do whatever they want after 10pm and they also let people play loud music past 3am at their sites without yelling at them whenever you leave the campground and come back they make you roll down all windows and show your pass and wristbands acting like we're smuggling stuff through the border they looked in the vehicle not to mention they hire minor kids who are very incompetent and clearly don't know how to work their job at the waterpark who don't even watch the kids if something happens to them and "cafe" staff was terrible while pulling back into our site in a vehicle going the speed limit of 8 mph like the sign says a group of 3 rented golf carts flew past us with open containers of alcohol drinking and driving with minors in it and little little kids on the back and while they did that the staff watched them do it and watched and let them do it which is absurd for the way they were driving swerving and being loud yelling and cutting people off and speeding and drinking openly but hey we can't ride e bikes, there is also no privacy absolutely none there is cameras visibly and not visible everywhere watching your every move. A big problem was when a family friends kid who is 6 took her grandmas credit card and went to the arcade, his kid proceeded to spend more than two and a half thousand at the arcade on the card while the owner admitted she seen it happened and watched all the transactions come through she let it happen the way the owner wanted to resolve it was to take everything the kids won all the cards and have the dad pay $1,700 the main part is that most of the stuff they had won was on cards that were paid for earlier and days before but she still wanted it she took it all and after a while of arguing finally he said he'd file a police report and fraud on them and they said he can keep everything and only has to pay $500 but has to sign something so he can't go to the police. Very very sketchy.. Owner is very disrespectful and should not be running a camping resort for families to have fun. something is not right there and I will not be staying there again
