I brought my child here and they had the kids punch each other in the face. The teachers set this up and cheered up the kids

I am so excited for my son to start at this nursery school next year. They operate like a school,…read moreso have a fall, spring, and optional summer semester. Ages 2-kindergarten. The school is gorgeous inside and out. It is built on 11 acres of land with a stream running through it and hills for sledding in the winter. Inside is very clean, up to date, and child safe/friendly. I spoke to Ilya, the school head, and he assured that the furniture, from what I remember was mostly wood, is non toxic and finished with non toxic coating. I do not remember seeing a single piece of plastic, which brought me peace of mind that my son would not be exposed to the unregulated chemicals in toys. In fact, the school has no toys. It is Emilia Reggio based, which capitalizes on the learning and creativity of the students. If they want to play with a truck, they have to make one... what fun! They eat locally sourced organic food, and use stainless steel bowls to eat out of, which is non toxic and durable. They pride themselves on getting outdoors every day, and they even "camp out" on Fridays. They learn about community and working with others, and the school really seems to focus on growing the whole child, not just grooming them academically. Ilya seem really passionate and knowledgeable about education. His wife, a teacher at the school, did Teach for America and although I did not meet her, sounds like this is a true passion of hers as well. It is their goal to stay on top of the best ways to help raise and educate the children of today, and being the only true Reggio Emilia school in St Louis, they are leading the way to a more progressive and influential way of teaching our children!

Top notch education!…read more My daughter started at Children's Learning Adventure two weeks ago. Not only is this school aesthetically amazing, the programming and staff are outstanding! It is so comforting as a parent to find a school that you can completely entrust with your child's safety, education, and well-being. We are greeted every day when we arrive, and at the end of the day my daughter's teacher is there to let me know everything about her day. As a working parent, one of my biggest complaints about her previous school was that every time I dropped off or picked up my daughter her teacher had already left for the day, and the management was out of the building. This is NOT the case here at Children's Learning Adventure. It is so refreshing to have a conversation with my child's teacher, who has been with her all day, at the end of the day. The director, Kelly, is so friendly and genuine. I really feel like she cares, and that is so refreshing to find these days. My daughter loves coming to her new school! She gets to participate in art class, gym class, and even makes a trip to the library to see the giant fish tank each week. Once she is older (she is only 2) she will get to go to cooking class and science class. This is all in addition to their fantastic curriculum. I highly recommend anyone looking for exceptional care for their children to check this place out. Driving by does not do justice; you have to see it to believe it! As a parent, you cannot put a price on your child's education and safety. If you want the best, Children's Learning Adventure is it.

Before being fully enrolled, we paid the application fee and enrollment deposit. Due to life circumstances we had to cancel our plans to send our child here. Although their rate sheet states the following below, our child was not completely enrolled and we provided a months notice. They advised multiple families were turned down and deferred to their rate sheet. With a months notice and current wait lists with daycares, I think they will easily fill the empty spot. The discount was a nice courtesy but doesn't make sense from a cost perspective and felt like any other here's a discount stay with us kinda thing. Guidepost would lose more money by providing a discount versus just refunding us. They were unwilling to discuss partial refunding or even work with us at all. I can't comment on the care as our child never attended. Proceed with absolute certainty before putting any money down as there is a zero tolerance and are unwilling to work with people. Enrollment deposit statement from rate sheet: "Your enrollment deposit both pre-registers you for the program and secures the current rate sheet. Enrollment deposits are applied to the last month of your child's enrollment in the school (see below). The enrollment deposit is nonrefundable under nearly all circumstances. The only circumstance in which the enrollment deposit is refundable is if we are not able to inform you of a start date within 6 months of submitting your enrollment deposit."

Our…read moredaughters began when they were 3- and 4 year old respectively and despite English is not their first language, we are impressed how quickly our kids learned their alphabets, counting forward and backward, and holding a pencil! Our 4 year old daughter learned to write her name within 2-3 weeks starting at Harper! Our 3 year old daughter resisted our attempts to teach her how to properly hold a pencil at home but Harper was able to accomplish this! Harper serves a lot of physician and health care professional families working nearby at MoBap and Mercy, so they are less likely to cancel school days (for snow) compared to the local public schools. The heads of school surprisingly know the students very well, they are both very involved in all the classrooms with all the students and teachers, and also have a personal connection with the families, which contributes to an inclusive, warm, welcoming, and nurturing environment. Even though English is not our children's first language, Harper miraculously over came their language barrier to help our daughters feel loved and included and drops off became happier and less tearful. Harper undoubtedly has a strong and successful academic curriculum but most impressive is their cohesive and nurturing environment because our kids feel safe, loved, and seen. Thank you Harper!!
