There is a small, dirty pool for the children to use daily, which has nothing to prevent accidentally falling in, no life saving equipment, and depth is unmarked. I cannot tell if the owner or any of the teenagers working for her are trained in lifesaving or first aid. The only restroom and changing room (one for both genders) for the children is in the owner's house, on the property. After my child's first day at the camp, I discussed with another parent, whose child was also in the camp (very close friends of ours), my concerns. The second day camp, my friend called the camp and spoke with the owner's teenaged daughter about our concerns. (this daughter keeps track of payments etc....not the adult owner)The daughter put my friend's mind at ease. 20 minutes later the owner called my cell phone several times in a row before I could get to it. Seeing that it was the horse camp I panicked, thinking something had happened to my child. I called her back. She said, "First of all, have you paid?" (I paid my deposit and tried to pay her the first day with debit...to which she said to pay her cash....hmmmmm...anyway we discussed the payment and I was to give her a check on the second day when I picked up my child) I asked if my child was ok. She was. She accused me of trying not to pay. Then...."and secondly, so and so's mom just called. Do you have a problem?" In a very aggressive way, she accused me of going behind her back and talking about the place to my friend and other parents. At my friend's advice, I called owner back because she wanted to "start over". She apologized and went on and on about crazy stuff....talking so fast I could hardly understand her. I just listened. Then she started talking about my payment and said that she was upset because we had no communication about payment. At this point I finally spoke. I told her she would get her f-ing check.....then she cut me off and told me to come get my f-ing kid. 10 minutes later, while I am on my way, she called again to tell me to come get my kid and hung up on me. At this point I called my husband who was closer to the place than I was and certainly not as pissed off as I was, to go get her. 10 minutes after that she called me again to know when I was coming to get my kid. At this point I was being a smart ass and told her that we would get there when we got there. Then she asked me if I was mentally ill and repeatedly, like a chant, told that I needed medicine. I had to interrupt her chanting to ask her what time she would like me to tell the police to come to uninsured, unlicensed business. The first day I had ever spoken to that woman my gut instinct told me something was very off. In addition, my child was stung by a wasp on that 2nd day and none from the camp even told me.

Luckily the staff was friendly and helpful with getting me set up with a (comfy Petzel!) rental harness and shoes. Check in and cash out was quick & easy. With the auto belay system for several routes of varying difficulty (I was able to do several within my skill range - 5.6 - 5.8) and attempt a couple of 5.9s) you could easily spend a few hours here even solo. I just had an hour but mission accomplished: several climbs fully completed, a couple attempted, and a good workout to break up hours of work travel. The gym was clean, the climbs were interesting, and the helpful staff was appreciated. Will definitely visit while traveling through again!

You have to pass Biometrics and then a separate door with a passcode on a keypad. They do pick up from about 5 or 6 schools around West Knoxville and my daughters happened to go to one of those so that is very convenient. They have a specifically labeled bus. They also have a pretty cool summer program for kindergarteners and above filled with field trips and educational items. It is conveniently located and off the street of Kingston Pike in the Farragut area so anyone in West Knoxville will be happy. I definitely recommend this to any parent looking for a place but I know they are rarely free and always filled up which I suppose is a good thing. Kids won't stop and neither will this staff. The head director is pretty involved and asks me what we are doing daily and I know you don't always get that from staff at a childcare location. Highly recommend

I have now spoke with the director twice this week but she keeps blowing me off saying she need to speak to admin or name isn't in there database and it's always "I'll call you tomorrow." They have probably spent my money and this is ridiculous!!

Very inconsistent lesson schedule with trainer cancellations due to an abnormal frequency of…read moreallergy/cold symptoms or potential bad weather (that would be for coming days or times of day not closely related to our scheduled lessons) are more common than the actual normal proceeding of a typical lesson. I bought a package for two students that should have been completed in the course of two months and in three months time, we still had over half our lessons left and no actual riding despite having prior experience. I finally filed a claim with PayPal and Gregory Farms paid the claim but did so in a manner that cost me a portion of my return to PayPal fees even though I offered to accept LESS than I was actually owed. It was a final confirmation that this "business" is not legitimate nor has a standard of business ethic that is worthy of charity or consideration in my opinion. Very frustrating experience with unprofessional and disingenuous business. My experience mirrors the others who had similar experiences to share. There are several dedicated and dependable service providers in the same area. Look elsewhere.

Yesterday, #NoCopAcademy brought a group of almost 30 young Black and Brown people to Carter…read moreSwimming pool, a public pool outside of Knoxville, Tennessee. We paid money for our entrance and were immediately greeted with blatant disrespect, dehumanization, and racism. Many of the white folks started getting out of the pool when we got in. One child wanted to have fun with us, and his guardian quickly gathered him in fake concern for our folks, saying "I hope he isn't bothering you" when we were all clearly welcoming him. When a white woman started to swim with us, the lifeguard told her to stop. The pool staff continuously came over to us and gave us rules that they were not enforcing on the white swimmers. They began with telling us we could not swim in the deep end, and yet when white folks got in the deep end they said nothing. They then continued to criminalize our activities by telling us we couldn't splash each other, or horse around. A staff member higher up kept monitoring us coming back and forth and even set up a chair to sit. They would only engage with the white adult present, refusing to recognize or speak to the youth or adults of color. We noticed this behavior and began singing "what side are you on my people? What side are you on? We on the freedom side." This chant was met with extreme responses from many people at the pool. One lifeguard called the police on us- she is pictured here and is currently training to become a cop. The officer who arrived is her uncle. They later informed us that the police were called because we were "singing racist songs." Some of the responses we heard from the pool staff were: "We aren't racist, and I wont shoot you, but they (the police) will." "It doesn't do any good to stir the pot." "These songs could get you killed." "It's good that the youth learn their heritage, but the civil rights movement was 50 years ago." Once the police arrived and we attempted to leave, a cop told a young person in our group "keep walking nigger," and threatened other young people in our group with arrest and physical harms. While the Civil Rights Movement was 50 years ago, anti-blackness (in the south AND the north) is alive and well. We paid to go there to have fun, and were met with racism and threats of violence of our people.. some as young as 12. This is unnacceptable, and we implore the pool in question to fire the lifeguard who called the cops unprovoked, and seriously interrogate their practices as a safe space for young people. My son has attended Kindercare Learning Center Cedar Bluff for 2 years now and it was his very…read morefirst daycare he attended since he was an infant in the infant room and now he is an healthy 3 year old little boy. At first I loved the center but the last few months have changed at this location in management and center wise. I have had my child come home with several bite marks where it broke skin and management has not done anything about it. I also personally saw while dropping off and picking up my child from childcare that cellphone usage has become the number one priority in the center some of the teachers are more on their phones than watching the children. Just recently I have witnessed picking my child up early from child care that a teacher left a 3 year old little girl from my Child's class outside by herself for 10 minutes with no supervision at all and the teacher was already in the classroom not knowing where the child was or even that she was outside by herself. As a parent I see that it is irresponsible and if you can't watch children and make sure they are safe then they shouldn't be teachers watching children. I did mention it to the management team in their office when I was leaving with my child. When I went to drop off my child at daycare the next day I noticed the teacher was still working at the location, as a parent if a child is left outside with no adult supervision I feel the teacher should not be working there anymore and also there are times when management is not even there at the school and leaving other teachers in charge to take their place that has no idea what is going on in the center. I feel like it makes parents specially myself as a parent to think twice about having or leaving their children in childcare again. As a parent we should always feel that our children are safe and being well taken care of while in childcare considering we pay lots of money to have them in the centers. I feel like this childcare center really needs to be looked into and things need to change at this child care center before somebody seriously gets hurt and I don't want to see that happen to any child at all.
