Along with Ben, Anthony helped us get set and both were very patient and friendly with our group. We had many first time climbers and they both encouraged them and made them feel comfortable. I have never been dog sledding before but I wanted to do it before I got older. This was an…read moreamazing experience. We looked around and my wife found Positive Energy and we decided to book a weekend in Duluth so we could go dog sledding. We got all of our warm gear ready and headed out. When we arrived we were greeted by the owner and one of the dogs. Next we got a lesson on sleds and dog teams. Walking into the dog area we got to meet all of the dogs. Then we got to harness them and get them set on the rope of each sled. We learned a lot about dogs and the history of sledding the whole time were were there from the staff. They make sure you really understand everything and take the time to answer every question you have. We did the 3 hour tour and it was amazing!!! We got on the sleds as passengers and after about 25 min mine stopped and I got to drive. Wow was it fun, driving a dog sled on my own across a frozen lake. It was a lot more work than I expected but worth every second. After we were done sledding we helped get the dogs off of the sleds, they got treats and we helped get them back to each dogs house. I recommend Positive Energy to anyone wanting to try dogsledding. The staff and the dogs are amazing!

My body was beyond knotted up and I had a killer headache as a result. After reading many reviews obsessively, I landed on Muggymoose. I emailed late in the evening asking if I could be treated in the next few days. I couldn't believe it when I received an immediate response from the owner. She reached out to all of the therapists and she found one that could work me in the next morning! This gift from God was Bell. Bell took her time to go through my health history, my needs and what I was hoping to get out of our time together. Usually this gets a little annoying because I can see the clock ticking and knowing that this time was coming out of my allotted time on the table. Not with Bell! She still gave me my full time and even a bit more! The knowledge she has about anatomy and physiology is ridiculous. As well as her knowledge of Eastern massage practices and how to apply them. She is so amazing. She is also a great conversationalist IF that's what you want. The first time she chatted with me as I was sharing my stress and worries. She had great insight on how this stress was affecting my mind and body. The next time I saw her, I was in a much better place and we barely talked. I have had innumerable massages and that is a very rare experience. Either too chatty or awkwardly silent. Bell knows the perfect balance and shows yet again how intune she is with people. The space is amazing and you can feel your mind and body unwinding the moment you walk in. I am so grateful I was led to Muggymoose and especially Bell. Such a blessing and I can't wait to go back North!

The visitors center is large and clean with lots of information, bathrooms, a gift shop, and places to sit around a fireplace. They were doing a lesson on primitive fire building when we arrived. We unfortunately had a limited amount of time, so we only did the brief hike down the beach and out to Shovel Point, but both were absolutely stunning and I wish we had more time. I'd love to come back someday and hike more and possibly camp as well.

The rest stop area of the state park visitor center was very nice. Picture windows let the outside sunlight in. Vending machines were well stocked, and the washrooms were spacious and clean. The visitor center was large, with an area with exhibits and displays about the history and the natural features of the park. The information desk abuts this area. There's a gift shop that sells souvenirs and last minute hiking/camping items. There's also ice cream and small snacks. If you want to spend significant time outside here during the summer and forgot mosquito repellent, I highly recommend picking up a canister of 40% DEET. You'll definitely need it! They have some pretty high-end merchandise, but I'm seeing some tempting sale offers and they have a rental program that might help you get kitted out for an adventure. This storefront location might be tricky to find at first. Enter through the building's Washington Avenue door, next to the barber shop, then follow the signs through the door there and up the stairs, where you'll spot them. I promise there's a nice store up there! You're on your own for parking but it's easy enough to find metered street parking.
